Callum's POV

I grinned and relaxed against the wall, gripping on to the controller in my grasp. I smirked at Ryder, whose forehead was brimming with sweat and veins. He was already on a losing streak, and we didn't take losers lightly here.

"Fuck!" Ryder erupted and flung his controller into a corner, already pissed at the game.

He gritted his teeth as he tried to control his emotions.

"Now come on, you didn't have to take it out on the poor controller. You know how much I paid for this joint bro, it was custom-made unlike the others," Max complained.

I looked at Ryder and I smirked at him. "Scream all you want, you will never be able to play any better. The poor controller was only doing what your loser ass commanded," I took a dig at him.

Ryder bared his teeth at me and held his chair furiously. The metal frame creaked from his strength as he tried to squeeze the metal with his bare hands.

"Just wait and see, I will train and come for your ass. I will wipe that smirk off your damn face bro," Ryder threatened.

This wasn't the reaction I wanted. I expected him to go ballistic, that was the fun part about messing with Ryder. He probably knew this too and controlled himself.

"Phew!" Max whistled and held his knees. We had spent the last few hours, doing nothing but playing video games. Our hands were starting to get crampy.

We were also using this to distract ourselves from the fact that our mate had been rejected by our sweet, dear mother.

"Hey, what about her, what about Liv? You think she is okay?" Ryder brought it up.

I was surprised Ryder's voice had suddenly changed. He seemed to be worried about her which was a first. I never really interfered in Ryder and Max's matter, but I knew firsthand what they did to that poor girl when they were feeling sadistic.

"I should have run after her when she left us. Just imagine if we were in her shoes," Max sighed.

I wondered what brought up the matter. I wasn't particularly concerned about her, since—I mean, I just saw her some time ago. I kept this matter from them a secret unless they would see me in a new light.

"I wanted to move, but holy Buddha, you should have seen Father's eyes. It was like one step and you are a goner son," Ryder explained.

"I was rooted to the spot, mother was on another level. She blatantly refused," Ryder said.

He walked up to the window and looked at the scene below.

"I wonder how she is feeling right now, alone in her room," Ryder said softly.

"Her eyes would be puffy and her nose would be running like a fountain," I added out of the blue.

They all ignored me and turned towards the window.

"Remember how we used to chase her not long ago," Max said.

There was a small smile on his face as he spoke of her.

"She doesn't look like it but she is very tough. I never believed she would have lasted that long. She was very quick, took us quite some time to catch up with her," Ryder said.

"And I used to watch from afar all the time," I butt in.

This time, Max looked at me and cocked his eyebrows. "What's your deal?" He asked me.

"Oh don't worry, just carry on and do your thing," I said to him.

"I think we should apologize to her," Ryder suggested. "Look at it, we have done so many despicable things to her, we should at least apologize to her so that she can accept us. It might be a step forward to what we want."

"Hell no, you are the ones apologizing," I scoffed. "I never really did much to her. It's your fault she dislikes me too," I shifted the blame to my brothers.

Max turned and looked at me.

"What? Look who is fucking talking!" He exclaimed.

I glared at him.

"What do you mean?"

"You think your little don't look at me act can fool us? We know what you did to her when she looked at you, should I start listing them?" Max smirked at me. I looked at Ryder and he shook his head at me in disgust.

I sighed. "Okay, maybe I did hurt her a little."

Ryder grunted.

"Alright, I did hurt her at times, but I don't think an apology would be enough to let her forgive us," I admitted.

"Our sins are too much."

I hadn't told them that I had seen her not too long ago. They would have killed me if I told them I went to see her alone. I wasn't in the mood to tell them how I had gotten rejected by her.

Max scoffed and folded his hands.

His eyes were transfixed on the television screen and they suddenly lit up.

He turned towards Ryder and me and he put his hand under his chin.

"Let's mark her," Max spluttered.

My eyes suddenly lit up. This was the best idea that evening, I was suddenly interested in this conversation.

"Yeah, let's mark her. She would love to accept us when we mark her," I said.

I wasn't one to shy away from an opportunity, this was another opportunity for me after I had failed. Maybe she looked at it when we were a group.

Ryder stood up. "What! What the hell? What are you thinking?" He was in shock at our suggestion.

"Bro chill, we are just marking her. Mother will have no choice but to accept her when we mark her," I said to Ryder. Why was he even not agreeing with us in the first place? This was his thing too, sex.

"No, you don't understand. That's the main problem, we just want to have her but we don't want to understand her," he said to us. He put his hands in his pocket and sighed at us.

"Ryder, are you okay? What's wrong with you today?" Max asked.

"Yeah, what's wrong? Did the losing streak mess you your head so badly?" I joked.

"No! It's not that," Ryder replied and fell silent. He took a seat and sat down facing us with his hands clasped together. He was getting serious about it. Max and I stared at each other and I shrugged my shoulder.

"She needs to accept us," Ryder started slowly. The chair creaked as he adjusted his weight from time to time. "We can't force ourselves on her. That is the problem. We have been forcing ourselves on her as far as I can remember, there was no time when we asked her for what she wanted," he said to us.

I couldn't believe it. Ryder of all people was lecturing us about love and acceptance. The craziest part was that it was low-key making sense.

"You have to be kidding me," Max clapped his hands together.

"No, I'm serious. When you think about it, you know we have been the ones forcing things on her. She never asked to be hunted by us but we did it nevertheless, and now we have to be patient and let her accept us. She has a choice too in this, that's what I believe," Ryder concluded and folded his hands.

The room suddenly fell silent as we let his words sink into our thick, future Alpha skulls. Ryder wasn't wrong at all. I didn't want to accept it too, but I knew he was right.

We needed to take things—

The door suddenly flew open and Mother stormed inside. I could tell that she had been smoking again from the faint smell of premium tobacco and nicotine. I sagged in my seat and sighed, this woman was about to give us a long lecture.

"Great," I folded my arms and looked at her.

She glared at me particularly and looked at my brothers. From her facial expression, I could tell she was very furious. If it was about inviting Liv to dinner, her anger surely took a long time to surface.

Women, very complicated creatures.

"All of you, to the meeting hall now!" She yelled at us.

Max and Ryder looked at me for support but I held my hands up at them. I wasn't in the mood to bicker with her like I usually did. I mean, I could maneuver my way out of it, but I didn't want to involve myself with her anger issues.

We slowly stood up and went to the meeting hall in a single line. She followed close behind us with her guards and I glared at them.

"Seems like Mom got pissed off bad about Liv," Max whispered.

"Took her quite a while for it to act," Ryder added.

"Something tells me we might have more in the equation than we bargained for," I said to them as we came to the large meeting hall.

The door was opened and we all went in. We weren't offered seats as we stood there, waiting for Mother to pass judgment on us. I was slowly getting pissed off as she walked to a chair and sat on it while we stood like abandoned ducklings in the middle. The door closed and the sound echoed through the large meeting hall.

On second thoughts, I should have just maneuvered my way from attending. I was getting a bad feeling that I was not going to like what she would say to us.

Max looked at me and stepped forward. "Mother, I just wanted to tell you that we—"

"Do you know the Red Moon pack?" Mother started. She adjusted herself in her seat to feel comfortable.

Her question has knocked us out of our normal balance. I was very much confused about where she was getting at than her question.

"Why?" Max asked. He clenched his hands at his side. I had a feeling he had already gotten there before us.

"You know them right? And the Alpha?" She continued. She placed her hands on the arm of her chair and rested her chin on her hand. Her expression was very cold, so it was hard for me to read her.

"I know them, he is one of the Father's allies," Ryder replied for us.

Mother nodded her head in affirmation. "That's good," she said. "He currently has three mateless daughters," she added.

"What does that have to do with us here?" I was impatient. I didn't like this place at all, I could already guess where this conversation was going.

Mother stood up and suddenly twisted her face in anger. She slowly walked up to me and stared me in the eyes, she was almost as tall as I am so she was almost intimidating. I held my ground and glared back at her.

"You are going to marry them, the three of you. And I will not take no for an answer," she said slowly to me so that it would sink in.

I flashed my teeth at her in anger and I clenched my fist. "No," I defied her.

"You don't get it. You don't have a choice, I'm the one bringing this up. You are going to get married to them whether you like it or not. My blood shall not be tainted by a worthless Omega," she shot at me.
