Chapter 3 The Body in the Freezer

What else could it be?

The kitchen!

I slipped out from behind the Male Model and looked at the empty kitchen, relieved.

"I told you it wouldn't be too dangerous. It's not mealtime, so no one's in the kitchen."

His face turned iron-gray.

"Are you messing with me?!"

"I'm not! I swear!"

I waved my hands frantically to explain.

"Officer, you don't know. This bar also sells food, especially Malatang! But it's insanely good. One day without it and you crave it. Two days and you're crazy for it."

"So I guessed they must add something to it! Maybe exactly the prohibited stuff you mentioned!"

And my guess wasn't baseless. A friend of mine had worked here part-time and saw the chef adding some unknown seasoning to the sauce pot!

I glanced at the Male Model's face. It looked a bit green.

I jumped. "Officer, you didn't order their Malatang before, did you?!"

"I order your—"

He shut his eyes tightly, then opened them.

"Fine. Go ahead and look. I want to see what prohibited items are here!"

I rubbed my hands together eagerly and lifted the lid of the nearby food freezer—

Then my gaze froze.

"So, you found the prohibited item you've been thinking about?"

The Male Model sneered, his tone odd.

"Tell me, what kind of harmful additive is in there?"

My hand shook.

The freezer lid slammed to the side, revealing the twisted face inside.

"No harmful additives..."

"But there is... a body..."
