Chapter 7 The Officer’s Interrogation
Alright, alright!
Just cleared of drug dealer suspicion, and now I was a murderer!
I crossed my arms and sat in the passenger seat. I even found the whole thing ridiculous myself.
"What are you smiling about?"
He Tingzhou looked at me, his tone leisurely. "Not planning to explain?"
Although I felt speechless inside, I put on a pitiful expression on my face. I leaned over and rested on the armrest box, acting cute. "Officer, others might not know, but I think you know clearly!"
"I was harassing—no, I was cultivating feelings with you the whole night. Where would I have time to kill someone?"
He Tingzhou let out a hum of laughter. "The autopsy results aren't out yet. Before the time of death is confirmed, you can't completely eliminate suspicion."
"However, I don't think the killer is you."
Hearing that, my eyes lit up. I pretended to be moved. "Officer! I knew our feelings weren't cultivated for nothing!"
He Tingzhou hummed. "Stop that. The reason I think you won't be the killer is because the fatal wound on the deceased is in the chest. One stab to the heart, fatal. Very few ordinary people can pull that off."
I couldn't help clicking my tongue. "One stab fatal? So ruthless? Looks like it's not an ordinary grudge."
But the bar owner had pretty good character. I hadn't heard of him having any major enemies.
The car drove all the way back to the police station. After getting out, I followed He Tingzhou to the interrogation room. Soon, I saw the clue provider. It was actually Chef Zhang from the back kitchen.
"Damn it, old Zhang, you're not being fair! Actually framing me?!"
Seeing the familiar face, I instantly got angry. "I order your Malatang every week, and you say I'm the killer??"
Chef Zhang looked shocked and waved his hands repeatedly. "I didn't! I only said I saw a girl who was slim and tall with long hair. I never said it was you!"
I was so angry I laughed. This was clearly using me as the model!
"His description is too general. Five out of ten girls could look like that." He Tingzhou said. "We're currently pulling the surveillance from the corridor closest to the back kitchen. Hoping to get some clues."
As he spoke, a young officer ran over to report. "Report! The autopsy results are out. The time of death is confirmed to be between nine and ten at night!"
My heart sank at the words.
During that time period, I hadn't picked up He Tingzhou yet.
That meant I really had no alibi.
