Chapter 9 No Matching Fingerprints

So perky—no, in this weather, getting a nosebleed is totally normal, right!

"Don't move!"

He Tingzhou stood in front of me, holding the ice water against my forehead. He said sternly. "Don't look where you shouldn't!"

I felt wronged. "I was just looking straight ahead!"

He Tingzhou took a slight breath. The outline in front of me became even more obvious.

Wow~

You've got some assets there, Officer~

I subconsciously swallowed.

"Lu--Xiao--Ning!"

He Tingzhou paused for two seconds, then suddenly reached out and shoved his ice-cold fingers from the water bottle into the back of my neck!

"Hey, damn it!!"

I jumped up with a start. My head slammed straight into his chin with a dull thud. I clutched my head while He Tingzhou clutched his chin. We both knelt in pain on the corridor floor.

"The results are out—huh! Officer He, what are you two doing?"

The examination room door opened. A technician in a white coat walked out. Seeing our posture, he looked slightly shocked and asked cautiously. "Is this some new criminal investigation takedown technique?"

I found the voice somewhat familiar. Enduring the pain in my head, I looked up and examined the short-haired technician with glasses. After a moment, I was startled. "Liu Liu??"

The technician in front of me was actually my university classmate!

Liu Liu was also surprised to see me. "Lu Xiaoning? Why are you here?"

"Wait, no." She looked at me and then at the grimacing He Tingzhou. Her expression turned serious. "Did you get into trouble? Confess and you'll get leniency, resist and you'll get severity!"

I waved my hand and asked her to give the results first. "How did the fingerprint comparison go? It's not me, right?"

Liu Liu shook her head. "It's not."

I breathed a sigh of relief. Before I could show off to He Tingzhou, Liu Liu continued. "To be accurate, none of the fingerprints sent over matched."
