Chapter 10 The Surveillance Woman

He Tingzhou ignored the pain in his chin and frowned as he asked. "Are you sure?"

Liu Liu hummed in confirmation. "Although I'm just an intern, I won't mess up something as basic as fingerprint comparison."

He Tingzhou's brow furrowed even deeper. He patted my head. "Wait here for me. I'll go report first."

I held my head. "My head still hurts a lot!"

Hearing that, He Tingzhou smiled and took my wrist to tap it against his chin. "Now we're even."

The stubble on his chin wasn't shaved clean. It prickled my palm, itchy and tingly.

My fingers curled involuntarily. My fingertips brushed past the edge of his lips. The moist warmth touched and left in an instant.

"Tsk tsk tsk, snap out of it!"

Liu Liu waved her hand in front of me. "He's already run two miles away!"

I came back to my senses, feeling a bit embarrassed. I cleared my throat to change the subject. "Look at you, Liu Liu. You've made it to the city bureau for work!"

Liu Liu let out a hey. "How could that be? I'm just an intern at the identification center. It's all outsourced."

She spoke with some curiosity. "Is there another big case?"

Speaking of this, I had some gossip to share. I draped an arm over her shoulder. "You don't know yet? That bar where you used to work part-time back in school—the boss is dead!"

Liu Liu was shocked. "What? The boss was a nice guy! How did he die?"

I sighed. "Yeah, and he died in the back kitchen too. No surveillance there. Finding the killer is like searching for a needle in a haystack."

Liu Liu thought for a moment. "Speaking of which, the last time I went for my summer part-time job, I happened to see the boss arguing with his girlfriend. I don't know who cheated, but they fought fiercely. His girlfriend even gave him some harsh words."

Speaking of the girlfriend, I suddenly remembered the peach blossom Red String on the boss's hand.

Could it be because of his girlfriend?

The two of us chatted as we walked. We had just left the identification center not far when we saw He Tingzhou walking quickly toward us. His expression didn't look too good.

"What's wrong?"

I looked at the figure stopping in front of me. I inexplicably felt something was off. "Did something happen?"

He Tingzhou looked at me. His dark eyes showed a hint of sharpness. "The bar surveillance has been checked one by one. We found the suspicious person mentioned by Chef Zhang."

"Whether it's the figure or the clothing, it's very similar to you."

"Lu Xiaoning, I think you need to give me an explanation."
