Chapter 75
"Jude," shouted Victoria, stopping Jude's actions.
Victoria pulled Emma to her side and looked at Jude without any warmth in her clear eyes. "If you want to eat cake, you can ask your father to buy it and ask the servants at your home to bake it for you. I won't do that."
Jude's tears fell directly, and his voice was choked. "Why? Aren't you my mother?"
Victoria felt her heart was being gripped by a giant hand, and the suffocating pain made it impossible for her to breathe.
She thought, "Why does he come to pester me when I decide to give up on them? Why does he come to make me realize over and over again that I can't get rid of my current identity? It's really annoying."
Victoria's tone became even colder. "I soon won't be."
With that, she picked up Emma and left.
Jude cried sadly. He couldn't understand why Victoria, who had been very good to him before, suddenly became so mean to him.
"Jude, what's wrong? Why are you crying so sadly?" Just then, a gentle voice was heard. Sarah squatted in front of Jude, wiping away his tears with eyes full of heartache.
"Mom does not want me anymore", said Jude.
Hearing this, Sarah thought for a moment before she said, "How could that be? No mother would abandon her child."
Jude gradually stopped sobbing. "Then why did she ignore me?"
Sarah said softly, "Because she is taking care of another kid now."
Jude suddenly thought, "It was the appearance of that little girl that took away all of my mom's attention, so she ignored me. It's all that girl's fault. I hate her."
Sarah looked at the anger in his eyes and smiled, then said, "Jude, don't cry. When that kid leaves, your mother will like you. Do you want to eat strawberry cake? I have some. Can we eat it together?"
"Okay." Jude nodded.
He thought, "Ms. Miller is so gentle, even gentler to me than my mother, and I dislike my mother more now. But My mother should be kind to me, coax me, and tolerate me. She shouldn't be nice to other kids, so I have to do something to get her attention back on me."
Tina bought strawberry cake and mango cake. Emma became excited instantly. "Aunt Tina, thank you. You are so kind."
Emma held the cake box and then started eating.
Tina moved to Victoria's side and asked in a low voice, "Vika, are you... Are you really Mrs. Harrison?"
She thought, "Is Vika a member of the Harrison family, the top wealthy family in Lanceser? What an awesome identity!"
Victoria said indifferently, "It's just an insignificant identity. Compared with Vika's identity, it's not worth mentioning."
"Is it?" Just as she finished speaking, a cold and magnetic voice sounded behind her.
Victoria's back stiffened. She glanced at Tina, who whispered, "I wanted to remind you that..."
But it was too late, and Henry came straight towards Victoria.
Victoria took a deep breath and turned to look at the incredibly handsome man. "Isn't it?"
She continued indifferently, "From the time I woke up in the hospital, I have not felt the convenience brought to me by this identity. Instead, I feel that it is a shackle."
As her words fell, Henry's gaze on her grew even colder.
Henry looked at her indifferently, his voice sharp as he said, "You haven't regained your memory yet. I won't discuss this with you."
Victoria could only feel helpless, but she didn't press the issue further since she knew there was no conclusion to be drawn from this conversation.
Henry's voice deepened. "Sarah's calf was fractured before; she can't do any complicated movements. You should take better care of her."
Victoria immediately took out her camera and showed him some of the photos she had taken earlier. "Do you think they're complicated?"
Henry glanced at the photos on her camera, and he couldn't help but admit that she did have a certain talent in this area.
In the pictures, Sarah might not have been in her best condition, yet Victoria still managed to capture a certain charm.
Any other photographer might have called it a day, but Victoria was different.
She was always serious about her work. If the photos didn't meet her standards, she wouldn't stop shooting.
Henry took her camera and began flipping through the pictures one by one Victoria noticed his eves softened and filled with tenderness.
She lowered her gaze, unwilling to look at him anymore.
Since she had learned that he had someone else in his heart, she had known that she would encounter such scenes many times in the future.
She told herself that since she had made the decision to divorce, to stop loving him, she should let herself remain calm and unperturbed.
"What is this?"
Just then, Henry's deep, magnetic voice broke the silence.
Victoria looked up, only to find that one of the photos in her camera was one she had once secretly taken of him!
