Cassidy #2

“Okay?” Harlan repeats, his voice teasing. “Just okay?”

I nod my head, my cheeks burning, as Silas grins up at me.

“You’re a good girl, moonlight. So perfect for us,” he murmurs.

“I want you. Both of you.” It falls out of me before I can stop it, and I want to snatch it back the second I see their faces, that same startled look, mirrored.

Silas’s eyes darken, his grip on my hips tightening as he pulls me closer against him. “You have no idea what you do to us when you say things like that, moonlight.”

Harlan’s hand slides from my mark to my jaw, tilting my face toward his. “You want us?”

“I need you,” I correct. My voice cracks slightly, betraying how much I mean it. “Both of you. All of you. Now, please.”

Harlan’s gaze goes heavy, pupils blown, and the intensity of it makes me shudder, and I wish I knew how to take this to the next stage.

I’ve never done anything with two guys before, especially not with my guys. Not like this.

And I really don’t want to mess it up.

Harlan’s lips brush against my ear, his breath hot against my skin. “You’re so brave telling us what you need, luxury. Just let us take care of you together.”

Silas’s hands slide up my sides, bunching the T-shirt higher as he lifts it over my head. The cool air hits my bare skin, goosebumps coating every exposed inch, as my glands pulse my scent into the room.

Both alphas look at me like I’m something… beautiful, and I have to remind myself to breathe.

Silas sits up slowly, keeping me in his lap, his hands moving along my spine with careful, deliberate pressure. He presses his lips to my collarbone, then the hollow of my throat, lowering down to my right breast, before taking my nipple into his mouth.

I gasp, my fingers flying to Silas’s hair, gripping hard as his tongue circles the sensitive peak. My head falls back, and Harlan is there immediately, catching me, his lips finding the curve of my neck as his hands settle warm and steady at my waist.

The three of us find a rhythm that feels like breathing. Harlan’s teasing bites, Silas’s wandering fingers, my own breathless moans—all of it building toward something, until—what the fuck is that noise?

I still, and Harlan immediately pulls away, cursing under his breath. I mourn the loss of his warmth at my back, but then I full-on whine when Silas pulls away, too.

Harlan’s phone alarm is blaring.

“Fuck,” he mutters again. The screen lights up his face, hard shadows cutting across it. “Breakfast meeting. I completely forgot.”

He swears again, these ones intelligible. I climb off Silas’s lap and sit beside him. The two of us watch as Harlan grumpily messes with his phone.

“Shit, I’m sorry,” Harlan says, his voice still rough with arousal as he puts his phone back down. He runs a hand through his hair, looking genuinely frustrated. “I completely lost track of time.”

Silas’s arm snakes around my waist, pulling me closer to him. “We could just cancel the day and stay in bed instead?”

Harlan’s jaw tics, but he shakes his head. “I wish I could.” His gaze rakes over my uncovered top half, a pulse of desire shooting through the bond when he focuses on his new mark. “But I can’t. Later, I promise.”

“Later is so long away,” Silas comments, and I giggle, resting my head against his chest. “See, even Cassidy agrees.”

“Don’t put me in the middle of you,” I caution.

Harlan smirks that dangerously seductive one that gives me flutters. “I thought you enjoyed being between us, little luxury?”

I flush, and the two of them laugh.

“I really, really love how easy it is to make you blush,” Harlan says with a grin.

Still smiling to himself, Harlan pushes himself upright, scrubbing a hand down his face.

“As tempting as this is,” he mutters, “I should probably make myself presentable.”

“You looked perfectly presentable five minutes ago,” I offer innocently.

Harlan snorts. “Not if I intend on keeping my job.”

He swings his legs over the side of the bed and crosses towards the wardrobe—a heavy, dark thing against the far wall, half its doors mirrored—entirely unconcerned by his lack of clothing.

I, on the other hand, become fascinated by the duvet.

“You’re hiding again,” Silas observes, keeping his tone quiet, as if Harlan merely five steps away can’t hear him.

“I’m preserving what little dignity I have left,” I say through a blush.

Harlan glances over his shoulder as he pulls on a pair of dark trousers, one corner of his mouth lifting. “Oh, luxury, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. You’re gorgeous, and we’re so fucking lucky.”

“We are,” Silas adds, tucking my hair behind my ear before brushing a gentle kiss to my temple.

His grin softens into something far too affectionate as he wraps his arm around me. “You’re adorable when you’re flustered.”

I narrow my eyes at him. “Don’t be a tease.”

He laughs, the sound warm enough to loosen the last of my embarrassment.

Across the room, morning light catches the crisp white of his shirt as he buttons it, then fastens his watch around his wrist with practiced efficiency. It’s strange watching the transition happen in real time.

One moment, he’s teasing me in bed, the next he’s Mr Mercer again—every movement suddenly precise, like a switch flipped somewhere behind his eyes.

He catches me watching, and something in his face gives, just barely.

Then, as casually as if he were discussing the weather, he says, “Your heat’s due next month, isn’t it?”

“Um.” I blink, trying to calm my racing heart, as my brain figures out how to get itself into gear to think.

Silas grins at me, tugging on my hair teasingly. “What’s the surprised look for?”

“I…” I laugh softly. “I hadn’t thought of it at all, honestly, and it’s just funny that you guys knew.”

Harlan raises a brow. “Cassidy.”

“What?”

“You’ve got four mates and at least one of them could be classed as a literal stalker. Of course, we know.”

I giggle as Silas’s chest vibrates behind me.

“It’s not stalking,” Silas argues, his voice husky. “It’s… being prepared.”

“Prepared?” Harlan asks, and I feel the sting of his amusement in my chest. “And how does—”

“Tell my secrets, Brother, and I’ll share yours,” Silas warns.

Harlan mimes zipping his lips closed, and I look between the two of them with a wary expression.

Secrets?

I’m pretty sure I don’t want to know.

“For your heat, I keep a calendar,” Silas says, and I’m not sure if my flushed cheeks are from embarrassment or annoyance.

“What? How? How do you even have this information?” I demand, pulling forward a little so I can give Silas a dirty look.

“Oh, fuck, that tone is hot,” Harlan murmurs, voice rough, as both their scents thicken.

He moves back over to the bed, sitting on the edge, rather than near me.

“It’s my job to know those things, little moonlight,” Silas says. “And I know your last heat occurred at the start of September, meaning your next one is due in the middle of December. Probably a week or so before Christmas if my timing is correct.”

“If your timing is correct?” I ask, aghast. “I don’t… how do you… Silas, how?”

His brows draw together as if it’s obvious. “Well, when you started, I checked in on your file, to make sure I was able to… handle any situations that may have arisen because of it, and well, us.”

I sigh, shaking my head, as the annoyance fades. I guess it’s smart, considering how hard we all tried not to be a pack in the first place.

If I were due my heat sooner… I don’t even want to think about it.

“I get it, but… I don’t love the feeling you know things about me that I haven’t shared.”

Both boys shrug now, one on each side of me on the mattress, and I feel a little insulted by their amusement. It’s not clear on their faces, but they have identical expressions, and Harlan’s amusement is so full inside me, I can’t even push past it.

“We know everything about you,” Harlan says, coming in closer now, being careful not to touch one of the wet spots on the blanket. “Do you think we don’t watch you and keep track of the important things?”

“The important things?” I whisper a little breathlessly. Silas moves back in behind me, pressing a kiss to the spot below my ear, just above my gland.

Fuck, this is unfair.

“The little moans you make when we touch you right,” Harlan says, his voice dropping to that low register that goes straight through me. “Your scent changes when you’re aroused. The whimpers and whines you use to your advantage.”

“Oh, yes,” Silas agrees. “I personally love the way you give into your instincts, letting your body guide your movements, and—”

“Okay, okay,” I say, half laughing, half whimpering.

This is so much heat for a morning where things cannot go further.

“Where do you want to spend it?” Harlan asks, and the question catches me completely off guard.

“I…” I trail off, not actually sure of the answer.

My home, where my parents live, is out. I refuse to do anything there, not when they’re currently home at the moment. I’m not sure how comfortable I feel at Evander’s and Isaac’s place, considering I’ve only been there once, and it feels a little too… bachelor pad-esque.

In the past, my heats have been spent at the Omega Centre, and whilst I was at university, I used their services to help manage them. My September heat I rode out alone at home, unfortunately, but this one… we’d all be together for.

My pack would be whole.

“We’ve got options,” Harlan offers. “But I don’t want to pressure you into choosing anything.”

“It’s not about the pressure,” I say, biting my lip as I try to find the best way to word it. “I’m just…”

“How about I make it a little easier for you?” Silas asks, and I nod quickly. “Where would you feel safest?”

I look towards him and hesitantly ask, “Are you sure?”

He frowns as if he can’t understand why I’m asking.

“Of course, I’m sure, Cassidy,” he says softly. “This is about what you need.”

I take a deep breath, both of them watching me. The silence stretches, and I make myself say it before I can chicken out.

“I’d feel best… at my nest at your home,” I whisper, unable to look at either of them.
