Chapter 12 The Agreement

Mu Jinci clenched her fists.

“Su Yueming, you’re overthinking,” Chen Yi hurried to explain, though he couldn’t hide his smile. “Mu Jinci and I did love each other once, but that’s ancient history. We’re innocent—”

“Who said I like Chen Yi?”

Chen Yi had been talking, but Mu Jinci ignored him completely.

She cut him off, face livid, and threw the question at me.

Chen Yi turned to her, confused.

I clicked my tongue. “Mu Jinci, you can ask that with a straight face? No need to deny it so fast. I’m not trying to shame you. Who you’re with is none of my business anymore. I just want the divorce over quickly.”

Mu Jinci slammed her fist on the table.

My coffee sloshed.

“Su Yueming, aren’t you going too far?”

“Too far? I’m only asking for a divorce. How is that too far? Or are you scared to go through with it? Why? It can’t be that you’re used to having this Pushover who works hard and asks for nothing in return, can it?” I mocked myself.

“Scared?” Mu Jinci gritted her teeth. “Fine, we’ll divorce! We’ll see who ends up begging to get back together!”

“Think whatever you want. As long as we divorce.” I glanced at her. “Tomorrow at ten, civil affairs bureau.”

I stood and walked past them.

“Don’t be late.”
