Chapter 10 Settling the Score

Cheating! Cheating!

How dare he use that word on me!

What right did he have to accuse me like that!

Hearing his threatening interrogation, the anger that had been buried and suppressed inside me surged up all at once.

"Zhou Yang, the person in this world least qualified to say the word 'cheating' to me is you!"

I held back my emotions and gave Chen Heng a signal.

Chen Heng understood at once. "I'll be right next door. Come find me if you need anything."

After leaving those words, he walked out of the courtyard.

I turned fully toward Zhou Yang, my gaze ice-cold.

"You want to settle the score of 'cheating' with me now?

"Then let me settle it with you properly!"

I unlocked my phone, pulled up the screen, and showed him those photos and texts one by one.

On New Year's Eve, Zhou Yang took Ruoyu to watch the fireworks. She leaned into his arms as if it were the most natural thing, and they smiled at each other.

On Valentine's Day, Zhou Yang carried a drunk Ruoyu into the car. She clutched his collar and leaned her lips close to his ear, murmuring drunken words.

On our wedding anniversary, Zhou Yang and Ruoyu were in the same hotel room. She wore a bathrobe, raised a glass of red wine, and clinked it against his.

"And the day I smashed the Wedding Photos and pulled out the Divorce Agreement, you still went to Ruoyu's birthday banquet. She kissed your cheek on the rooftop, and behind you the night sky had drones spelling out 'love'!"

...

I flipped through them one by one, reading every word out loud to him.

All of it came from Ruoyu's Moments, visible only to me.

I used to wonder why a best friend I'd grown up with would do this to me.

But later I figured it out.

Because in Ruoyu's eyes, I was nothing but a thief who "took advantage of someone's crisis" and "slipped in while the door was open."

After all, from the very beginning, she and he were the ones who liked each other.

"If your definition of cheating is physical contact between a man and a woman.

"Then by my standards, you were already beyond forgiveness long ago! Zhou Yang!"

Zhou Yang stood where he was, listening to my nearly gritted-teeth accusations.

His face was full of shock, yet he still tried to explain. "Ruoyu and I—that was all for Zhou—"

"Don't tell me it was for the Zhou Group again! The Zhou Group has nothing to do with me now!

"What you really feel for her—do you think I don't understand?

"Did the two of you really think I was a fool?!"
