Chapter 6 She Is My Ex Wife

Seeing he had brought Shen Leyue, Gu Chaonan's face improved a little.

"Your injury isn't healed. Why are you running around?"

Xie Yiheng's voice was calm.

"It's not my leg that's hurt. Why can't I go out?"

There was already some tension in the air.

And when he said it, his eyes landed on me.

The private room went quiet.

No one seemed to know what was going on.

Gu Chaonan blocked me, jaw tight, holding back his temper.

"How did you know we were here?"

A careless voice came from outside the door.

"Of course I told him."

"You brat, I've invited you so many times and you never come out. Got a wife and now you don't want us old brothers anymore?"

My breath caught.

He was one of the few people who knew Xie Yiheng and I had been married.

I looked up and met Chen Chen's eyes.

He staggered in shock.

"Holy shit! Wen—Wen Yu, why is it you?"

Gu Chaonan turned his head, his gaze sharp and piercing.

"You know her?"

Chen Chen realized something was wrong.

He stammered, trying to cover.

"Just, met a few times. Just surprised, haha..."

A vein jumped at Gu Chaonan's temple. His body was taut like a drawn bow.

Someone tried to step in and smooth things over.

Unexpectedly, he didn't press further.

"I drank too much today. Not good for another round. I'm taking my wife home."

I stood and took the hand he held out.

Feeling the force of his grip, I finally knew how hard he was holding back.

I kept my face calm and gave everyone an apologetic smile.

"Sorry. Next time."

Xie Yiheng looked away from our clasped hands.

He seemed to have had some drinks. Even his eyes were rimmed red.

"She is my Ex Wife."
