Chapter 18

She got up in a panic. I cut her off immediately.

"Put on your hat, sunglasses, and mask. Take your guide cane. Go back the same way. Remember, you are a Blind Person!"

Only then did she snap out of it. She quickly fixed her disguise.

Her steps were a little unsteady as she headed for the door.

Once outside, she turned to leave.

But she suddenly looked back at me, her eyes complicated.

"Go home and wait for me. Close the door behind you!"

I urged her in a low voice. Only then did she disappear into the Stairwell.

With a click, the door shut.

Only then did I turn around and begin cleaning up the scene.

The faint smell of blood filled the air.

Looking at the three corpses in front of me, I let out a long breath.

This was exactly why I had hidden in the room before my Girlfriend.

I knew she would be facing three people this time.

If she couldn't handle it, I would step in.

Only... dealing with three bodies.

This job was indeed not easy.

The smell of alcohol and blood mixed in the living room, so pungent it made me want to vomit.

I dragged the three corpses into the Bathroom.

The process was much more exhausting than I had imagined.

Especially the strongest man.

Every step I took made my arms tremble.

Using the tools I had prepared in advance, I dismembered the bodies into sizes easy to carry.

Every cut was accompanied by the sound of bones cracking.

I had heard that sound too many times, yet it still sent chills down my spine.

After dealing with the bodies, I stuffed the pieces into several large plastic bags I had prepared earlier.

Then I loaded them into the Suitcase in batches and dragged them downstairs.

It took me six trips in total to move everything.

The Sewer Access Hatch in the basement was still there.

It was already two in the morning when I returned to 603 after finishing everything.

I opened all the windows to ventilate.

I cleaned every possible trace.

Fingerprints, footprints, bloodstains...

As always, I was so thorough that I didn't even miss the gaps between the tiles.

Only after confirming that the scene had no flaws did I close the door and leave the Chrysanthemum Garden compound.

A light rain had started falling on the street again.

The raindrops fell silently on my shoulders and hair.
