Chapter 20
She had worked at a massage parlor.
Being a Blind Person, it was the decent-paying job she could find.
At that time I was still in school. She supported our entire life.
She was only three years older than me, yet she had taken on the role of mother since very early on.
But five years ago, my sister died, and she died without a complete body.
That night five years ago, she was followed by seven men on her way home from work.
They broke into her rental apartment and forced her into a corner.
She fought desperately and tried to escape several times, but was pinned against the door and strangled.
In the panic, she bit off one of the men's Finger.
Knowing she would not survive, she stuffed the severed Finger into the Peephole during the chaos, hoping to leave evidence.
Those men became furious and tortured her with every cruel method they could think of.
They shaved her head, chopped off her fingers, pulled out her teeth...
They also frantically searched for that severed Finger but found nothing. They even suspected she had swallowed it.
To leave no traces, they dragged her into the Bathroom and dismembered her, trying to erase everything.
Afterward, the police found my sister's remains in the septic tank downstairs.
They also found that severed Finger in the Peephole.
But because there was no match in the database, the case remained unsolved.
And throughout the entire incident, there was one witness.
That was my sister's roommate at the time, another "Blind Person" girl.
She had been hiding under the bed and witnessed the entire process of my sister's murder.
And she was now my Girlfriend.
At that time, her phone was not with her. She couldn't call the police and didn't dare make a sound.
She curled up under the bed, only able to see fragments of light and shadow through the gap.
Every scream and every impact felt like a knife cutting from her eardrums into her heart.
She didn't dare breathe, afraid that the slightest noise would drag her into the abyss too.
Afterward, fear kept her frozen under that bed.
She wasn't sure if she could still recognize those seven men, and she didn't dare think about it.
She had lived in this world as a Blind Person ever since.
That disguise had once been her shield and her comfort zone.
But after that night, it became her only refuge.
If she admitted she had seen everything, it would mean facing police questioning, media exposure, and possibly revenge from those men.
She was afraid that her "seeing" would bring new disaster.
So she chose to keep her "eyes closed."
To remain a "Blind Person" who had seen nothing.
The images of that night were branded into her mind.
She learned to hide the blade in her heart behind smiles and obedience.
She used the rhythm of her guide cane tapping the ground to confirm her own existence.
She hid her real gaze behind sunglasses.
And she sealed all her guilt and sorrow in silence.
