Enslee #2
I shook my head ruefully. It was weird to finally have somebody to talk about things like this with.
I’d never had a girlfriend growing up, and I’d never had anyone I could talk to about the girly things, mostly hair, fashion, men, and sex.
And I didn't just have Jenni now. I also had Layla. We’d become good friends, and now that she wasn't trying to put the squeeze on Brogan and Declan, they actually enjoyed her company as well.
I knew she'd be there tonight because she’d already shown me pictures of her red dress.
I had a feeling Nash would let her keep it on as long as these men would allow me to keep mine on.
We'd compare stories later next week, especially when we met for lunch.
“Your beautician magicians await,” Jenni reminded me.
I picked up the dress so I wouldn’t walk all over it, then followed her into the large bathroom.
They’d already had everything they’d need laid out on or near my vanity.
I’d told them earlier that I wanted to keep things simple because I didn't want to detract. Still, I did need to look elegant and classy. Jenni had suggested a Grace Kelly look, but I preferred Audrey Hepburn more myself. I’d leave Grace, Marilyn, and every other blonde bombshell to Layla, who could better pull them off.
I’d suffered through almost an hour and a half of torture before they were finally done. For those who said there was no pain in beauty, I’d like to have a word or two with them. As my scalp continued to throb, maybe a few more words that’d be more colorful.
And speaking of words. I knew both men had arrived because I could hear their voices in the other room.
Jenni had guarded the door to this bathroom, and despite their insistence, she wouldn’t let them see me until everything was done.
I was glad for that because I had even a surprise for her, and especially one for the guys.
As I examined myself in the full-length mirror, I was almost taken aback by how beautiful I looked, dare I say. I looked like the type of woman that would hang off Declan’s or Brogan’s arms. It was amazing what makeup and hair products could do for someone.
I ran my hands down my dress, which was strapless, and the inner bra pushed my breasts together so my cleavage would look far more substantial than it really was.
Following the gown down, it was not only long but tight, and Jenni had been right about the train.
It seemed a bit shorter now that I had heels on.
Turning to the side, I smiled at the long slit on the right that went from the bottom of the dress nearly up to my hip.
Underneath, I had on black silk panties, but nothing anyone could see.
I rounded out the look with heels the same shade of blue as my dress that were adorned with jewels.
Bringing my attention back to my hair, I was blown away.
It was pin straight, but the hairdresser had managed to throw in a few blue highlights that also matched everything else.
That was my surprise, and I now hoped they loved it as much as I did.
It was bold… It was daring… It was everything I wasn't, but everything I wanted to become.
Taking a deep breath, I exited the bathroom and entered the bedroom.
Everyone stopped talking upon my arrival, and three sets of eyes were now pinned on me. I held my breath as they stared at me.
“You look hot as hell,” Declan said first.
“Absolutely fucking stunning,” Brogan added.
“You didn’t tell me you were going to do that to your hair, brat. I love it!”
She’d also gotten dressed, but in something a bit simpler, like I would’ve worn back in the day.
It was then that I noticed that the men were also in their tuxedos.
Brogan was wearing all black, which matched his eyes, while Declan had on mostly black.
He broke up the dark tones with a cobalt bow tie that matched my dress.
Upon further review, Brogan was wearing blue cufflinks, so it was like we were all wearing a piece of one another.
“Are we ready to go?” Declan finally asked.
“One more thing,” Brogan said as he nodded at a large jewelry box on the bed.
“Come here,” Declan said to me, and I obediently followed.
I turned at his unspoken command, then closed my eyes as something heavy, cold, and large was wrapped around my throat. Waiting until he stepped back, I opened my eyes and saw the large diamond and sapphire choker in the mirror, and my hands went to it.
Now, I feel like I’m living another Pretty Woman moment.
“Thank you,” I said to them both. “We should go so we’re not late. I want to make sure you're able to get your red-carpet moment.”
“Our chariot awaits,” Brogan said, then they led me downstairs to the limo.
A half hour later, we arrived at the Peacock Theater where the red carpet had already been laid out.
There were so many people, including cameramen, which made me nervous.
I had no time to dwell on it, though, because Declan quickly exited the vehicle.
We’d run through this before because we’d timed and planned it out perfectly.
My heart beat like a drum in my ear and chest as I counted the seconds before Declan returned to us.
A few beats later, the door opened, and he extended his hand to me.
I accepted it, and he gently pulled me from the car.
We took only a few steps before the flash bulbs exploded from everywhere.
