Chapter 21

Crusher

“Cage, this isn’t really a good time,” I say as I answer my phone while pacing the floor, my eyes going to my wife several times, her chest moving gently, her hands handcuffed to our bedpost, and yes, I said ours, and yes, she’s going to fucking kill me.

“It’s church, brother, you don’t really have a choice being the SA and all that,” Cage grunts with frustration, and I wince.

Fuck, I forgot about church…

“You’ve been ignoring everyone's calls, son,” Chains says loudly, “This is one call you cannot and will not miss. You were voted in, every brother wanted you as an officer, so shut up and let’s get on with church, yeah? I want a piece of my old lady.”

“Urgh, Dad, no!” Cage snaps, and I scrunch my nose at that image I did not need in my head before I look at my wife again and mutter, “Okay, fine, as long as it’s quick.”

Cage sighs, “Fine, right, let's get to the run first. There were no problems coming back home, and we’ve made around ninety K. Flame stayed for a few hours before heading back home. The Chargers stayed in their lane, so with what you messaged after your conversation with your wife, Crusher, the fuckers were targeting you.”

Trick continues, “I’ve got a watch on the trailer Alexiana grew up in, as soon as the fucker shows up, we’ll grab him.”

“I can’t believe I didn’t know her dad was a fucking Charger. I spent at least four nights a week there since I was in fucking diapers,” Blaze grunts, and I snap, “Don’t need the reminder, big brother.”

Okay, so big brother just popped out, but what the hell? I don’t need a visual of my blood and my wife sharing a fucking bed, even if it was platonic.

Blaze snorts, “She’s like a sister, chill out, little brother,” and I roll my eyes at the fondness in his tone at my words before I eye my wife again, who is really going to fucking kill me.

Fuck, I fucking hope she wants more kids one day because otherwise she’ll tear my balls from my body.

“The fuckers have been quiet, so keep your eyes peeled,” Cage cuts in, then asks, “Bones, how’s the garage?”

“Business is steady, customers coming in every day to the point that we’re fully booked for at least three months and have had to make a waiting list, and as for the Charger situation, I have an idea, a fucked up one, and I’m currently seeing if it’ll work.

If I think it will, I’ll bring everyone in,” Bones answers, and I raise a brow.

Fuckers going rogue? It must be big.

“Is it illegal?” Crash asks casually, and my lips twitch because he knows damn well it is otherwise Bones would tell us his plan.

“I could be looking at probably twenty to fifty years in prison if I’m caught,” he answers just as casually and my mouth parts because what the fuck?

Fifty years inside?

“I’ll keep you all informed,” he says like he didn’t just drop a bomb on us, and I blink.

“Surely you can’t expect us all not to question you over this?” Blaze chokes, “I mean, prison? Fifty years in prison? Are you fucking high?”

Apparently fucking so.

“As I said, I’m going to assess my plan first, then I’ll bring it to the table, but brothers, they’re pests, they’re hurting innocents, and with Alex’s dad being a Charger, it would mean Kayden is in danger,” Bones says seriously, and I look at my girl again.

Fuck, I’m not going to intervene.

“Let him work out a plan,” I instantly state, my family’s safety coming first. I hear a sigh, then Cage agrees, “Okay, keep us informed,” before he asks, “Crusher, ETA coming home? When is your next shift? I need to organize the next two runs around Blade’s old lady's pregnancy.”

I wince as my wife’s hand twitches.

Fuck, she’s going to kill me or worse, break my dick….

“I uh, I’m already home,” I reluctantly admit, and Dad snaps, “That place is not your fucking home, Hill Crest is your home!” not understanding my words, and I swallow hard.

“I’m with your dad here!” Blaze snaps, and I mutter, “He’s your dad, too,” just to piss him off, and Blaze grunts, “Don’t make me fucking hit you again,” and my lips twitch before I clear my throat.

“I’m home, I went with plan C,” I reluctantly admit, but unfortunately, they need to know, just in case my wife does kill me.

“What’s plan C?” Crash questions before Blaze snaps, “Please tell me you did not go with plan Cage?”

I wince as Alexiana groans, and I mutter, “Okay, I won’t tell you I went with plan Cage, but what I will tell you is that the house my mom’s father had, it never burnt down.

I got it in his will and have been renovating it for years and made it a home, so if you don’t hear from me for a few days then it’s because my wife has killed me, who I think may be waking up from the sedative I gave her… ”

“Holy shit, it was nice knowing you, son,” Chain mutters just as Dad snaps, “You’ve been living on club property all this time and not said anything? We could have made a road!”

I roll my eyes as Cage admits, “Dad offered, but he declined, he likes the privacy, though that privacy might come and bite him in the fucking ass now when Alex kills him. No one mentions outside of this room where he's living, we still have a traitor at large!”

“No one is going to say anything!” Trick snaps before he asks, “What did you use?”

I wince and admit, “The spare sedative you gave me in case she broke down for a second time, but I laced it in her water,” and a collective of groans echoes while Cage chuckles, “I’m so fucking proud of you,” and I smirk.

Fucking Cage.

Chains snaps, “Seriously, son?! You’re proud of him? She said she’d come home!”

“Actually,” I but in, “she was getting ready to tell me she was not going to come home. Kayden overheard her on the phone yesterday about apartments an hour outside Hill Crest, in Flo Ave.”

“Fuck’s sake!” Blaze grunts, and I nod even though he can’t see me, while my wife slowly moves her head, squeezing her eyes tight, and I wince again, knowing I need to hurry this phone call up.

“She thinks Kayden hates her, but really, he feels bad because not only did he tell her he hated her, but everything he hears, he’s relaying it to me knowing I’m trying to get back with his mom, and she is going to be pissed,” I admit, “As soon as she was out of it, Kayden helped me pack up all their shit and put it into the moving van I picked up with a trailer while she thought I was looking at the station in Rose Hill, towed my bike back and left her shit box back in Rose Hill.”

“Oh shit, it was nice knowing you,” Crash cackles, but as soon as I admit, “She’s currently handcuffed to the bed,” the whole of the church bursts out in laughter.

Fucking assholes…

“What, I, huh?” Alexiana groans, and the cuffs rattle, causing her eyes to pop open as she tries to move her hands before she gasps.

“Oh fuck,” I mutter just as my wife's dark green eyes snap my way full of anger, and I swallow hard while my cock, unhelpfully hardens at the sight.

Down boy, not the time…

“Hayes, what did you do?” she sneers coldly, her voice crackly, and I flinch as a lot of, oh fucks, echo in my ear.

Clearing my throat, I say, “I’ve got to go, brothers, and Cage, as for my shifts, I have a double graveyard shift in three days, then two days at the firehouse. I don’t know the rest because I took time off when I went to get my wife back.”

“Good luck,” he chuckles before hanging up, and I keep eye contact with my wife, whose nostrils are flaring, and I know even trying to get close to her right now is a death sentence.

“I brought you home,” I state the obvious, “Our son is currently downstairs doing his schoolwork, I have a meeting with Hill Crest Elementary tomorrow, and you have been given full clearance to use the ice rink on days it isn’t open for the public.

I’ve got the schedule on the fridge,” I swallow before finishing, “I quit your job for you, and canceled your class, and you are no longer in debt.”

“Uncuff me, now,” she demands, but I shake my head, not stupid, but when she snaps, “I need to go check on our son who was shot! Our son, I have barely let out of my goddamn sight, so uncuff me, right now!” I turn stupid because my feet move before my brain can catch up with how much of an idiotic idea it is to uncuff her.

My heart can only see a panicked mother, while my head, which hasn’t caught up with what my heart is doing, probably sees a pissed-off wife, meaning it’s a lose – lose situation.

I undo the cuffs and take a step back and watch as she gingerly stands up, and I have to hold myself back when she wobbles before suddenly, her fist is coming my way and fuck’s sake, I really should have seen it coming.

My head snaps to the side as she hits my jaw in a hit I fucking taught her, and I blink because fuck me, that hurt.

A big part of me is proud, the other part is pissed I didn’t see it coming.

“Okay, I deserved that, I guess,” I grunt as I look at her, but absolute pain rushes through me, and my eyes water as I groan, “Fuck,” and I cup my balls, my knees giving out.

I really should have seen her kneeing me in the balls…

I cough as I kneel onto the floor before choking, “So, I guess you don’t want more kids?” as I squeeze my eyes tight, and she growls loudly before stomping out of the room, and I breathe heavy, suddenly regretting uncuffing her.

Fuck, I think she might have popped a testicle.

Trying to get my bearings, I slowly stand but wince at the pain between my fucking legs before I carefully follow my wife, who I know won’t be going anywhere because of our son, and I try to come up with a plan while praying she hasn’t broken my dick.

I hurt her enough for her to still be feeling the pain eight years later. I’m fully aware that bitch who is still missing, sending her fake pictures for two years hasn’t helped, but she loves me, and whether she wants to believe it or not, it’s a fucking start, and it’ll help me keep her.

“I just have one long fucking hill to climb…”
