Chapter 12 The Riot

I gripped the steering wheel the entire way, ignoring all speed limits.

It wasn't that I was worried about what they would do to Sa'er. I was afraid that this not-so-bright little fish would misunderstand me and go crazy without reason.

In just two hours since I left, the Monster Supervision Office had fallen into chaos. All sectors were empty. From time to time, screams came from the surrounding buildings.

Bodies of guards lay scattered across the ground. I lifted one who was barely breathing and asked what happened.

The guard only managed to say "White Ray... mass breakout" before dying.

After seeing the Monster Research Institute tattoo under the guard's collar, I threw him away in disgust.

The reckoning had come faster than expected.

All communication lines of the Monster Supervision Office had been cut. I immediately activated the backup line and summoned all the real guards I had placed in advance. I ordered:

"Try not to kill the monsters. Any outsiders, kill on sight."

Clear and uniform responses came through the earpiece, followed by the sound of special bullets being loaded.

The farther in I went, the heavier the smell of blood in the air.

I loaded my gun and pressed the elevator button.

The moment the doors opened, monsters swarmed toward me. Their eyes, normally different colors, were now all blood red. They had gone into a frenzy.

With a cold face, I pressed the confirmation button on my wristband. A million volts of electricity were instantly released from their collars.

In an instant, no matter the species, all of them reverted to their original forms and lay sprawled across the floor.

Guard Captain Baishuang finally caught up. I cut off her salute. "Which direction did Sa'er go?"

"He disappeared in the control room area."

"Mm. Take care of them."
