14. Show And Tell

SHOW AND TELL

BLUE

I’ve been on cloud nine for these last few weeks. I still can’t believe that Bishop and I are officially a couple. Even though I haven’t been back to the clubhouse since the first night we were together, we’ve been seeing each other ever since.

Bishop has been dealing with club business, but he makes it a habit to come to my apartment every evening, even if it’s just for a couple of hours.

If I didn’t know how truly busy he was, it would make me feel some type of way.

But I know that he and I aren’t some booty call. Bishop has made that perfectly clear.

I do feel a little apprehensive about going to a party tonight where our new status will be on full display.

The sexual tension has been between us for so long that I don’t know how I’m going to act when I don’t have to play cat and mouse with him.

He gave me shit about the brothers flirting with me, but I just know that I’m going to have to knock one of those bitches out tonight.

The sweet butts and the bunnies are gonna be out in full force.

Bishop has already been the object of their desire, and now that they know he’s with me, it’s gonna be a million times worse.

He’s also been acting president for the past month or so, so they really will be on the prowl.

It’s one of the things I thought I was prepared to deal with, but I was wrong.

I’m a lot more jealous than I thought I ever would be.

Being jealous is so embarrassing, but sometimes it’s more than jealousy; it’s the disrespect. And I hate a disrespectful hoe. Those bitches love to be all over a man that doesn’t belong to them. For the most part, Bishop’s mean ass keeps them off of him. But some keep coming back no matter what.

I’m just glad that I’m meeting the girls out for dinner and drinks before we go to the clubhouse tonight. It will be nice to relax and spill tea without the guys around for once. It will also help to ease my nerves to see them beforehand.

I walk into the little Mexican restaurant with my bag slung over my shoulder. I’m dressed casually in my jeans and t-shirt because I worked an early shift today, so I had all afternoon to relax. After we eat, we’re going to Roxy’s place to change before heading to the clubhouse to party.

I don’t mind wearing my booty shorts and tank tops out in public, and neither does Roxy, but Sassy is an auditor, and she doesn’t like to show her goods when she’s not hanging out at the clubhouse.

I get it because I’m a nurse and some people may look at me differently if they saw my ass hanging out of a pair of shorts, but I don’t give a damn. What I wear when I’m not at work is nobody’s business.

“Blue!”

I see Sassy waving her hand at me. She and Roxy are already here, along with Roxy’s cousin Dee. We are about the only black women who hang with the Hounds. Although there are a few more, we aren’t as close to them.

“Hey ladies,” I say, hugging each of them one by one.

“So, a little birdie told me that Bishop hemmed your ass up in the conference room a few weeks ago.”

I can feel my face burning. Those big ass grown men gossip like teenage girls. Always spilling tea that ain’t theirs.

“I know you fucking lyin’. You got yo back blown out in the conference room, and didn’t tell me about it?” Roxy practically yells.

My cheeks are flaming hot now, and I haven’t even had anything to drink. I knew the girls were going to tease the hell outta me when they found out; that’s why I haven’t told them yet. They knew how much I liked Bishop; hell, everybody knew.

“First of all, my back was not blown out in the conference room,” I say after regaining my composure.

“So, what you’re saying is… it got blown out in Bishop’s presidential suite at the clubhouse.” Sassy sips her drink, then flashes me a cheeky smile.

“I’ve never been in Bishop’s room,” Dee casually comments.

“Please, as if Crush would let you out of his sight long enough for you to know what Bishop’s room looks like,” Roxy laughs.

“True.” Dee shrugs.

We all chuckle because we’re in the same boat. We are dealing with overprotective men who love hard and don’t play. It’s a wonder they let us out tonight without one of them lurking in the parking lot somewhere.

“Anyway, so are y’all official or?” Sassy questions, curiosity gracing her features.

“I mean, you know how the Hounds get down. You’re my woman…” I shrug, trying to play it cool.

“Them hoes about to be mad!” Dee cackles loudly.

I guess we’ll see!

The party is in full swing when we step into the clubhouse.

Of course, we turn heads as soon as we walk in the door because not only do we look the fuck good, but we decided to coordinate.

We all have on little cut-off jean shorts, cowboy boots, and cropped Hellhound t-shirts.

Our skin is glowing from body butter, and our natural hair is poppin’. We look hot as fuck!

“Goddamn!” Someone catcalls as soon as we are all the way inside.

The girls and I laugh as we make our way to the bar.

Our Hounds already knew we were on the way.

As a matter of fact, Ace was waiting in his truck in the parking lot of the restaurant when we got finished with our drinks.

He said that he would be our rideshare for the evening.

All I could do was shake my head because I knew they wouldn’t let us have a girls’ night without one of them showing up.

“Well, don’t y’all look adorable. Rope, I should’ve worn my Daisy Dukes,” Tiny says, winking at her Old Man.

“We’re too old to be having more babies, woman. And that’s exactly what would happen if you put on an outfit like that,” Rope replies, making Tiny blush.

We all giggle like children because Rope and Tiny are the club’s elders. They flirt like nobody’s business, and it’s the cutest thing. Everyone wants a love as long-lasting as theirs.

Tiny lines up shot glasses in front of us, and I know this night is about to be one for the books. I haven’t been hanging out, and now I’m back and ready to let my hair down. I finally feel at ease.

I don’t have to worry about what Bishop is doing or how we will interact. There won’t be any uncertainty between us because we both know where we stand in our relationship. I feel lighter just knowing we finally cleared the hurdle so we can just be together.

We downed three shots in a row before I felt the dizzying effects. It doesn’t matter, though, because Roxy pulls me onto the dance floor before it can really take hold. I throw my hands up as the girls hype me up.

Before I know it, I’m sweating. It doesn’t even matter what songs are playing because we are all in the partying mood. We dance and let loose like only you can when you’re surrounded by protectors and don’t have a care in the world.

The clubhouse is packed tonight, and there are people everywhere. Everyone is drinking, dancing, and generally having a great time. Even though I see their guys scattered throughout the clubhouse, they haven’t bothered the girls and me since we’ve been on the dance floor.

I’m actually shocked that they’ve let us dance this long without interrupting. Usually, Sassy can’t dance for two minutes before Ace is on her, and the same goes for Roxy. Stone doesn’t let that woman breathe without him being next to her.

Then there’s Bishop; even when we weren’t a couple, I couldn’t go two steps without feeling his eyes on me. Just like now. He hasn’t approached me yet, but I saw him as soon as we walked in.

Bishop is playing pool, which has a clear view of the dance floor.

He’s been watching my every hip roll and booty shake since I walked through the door.

I can’t say that I hate his attention, especially now that I know how he puts it down in the bedroom.

His attention is definitely going to have me aching in all the right places.

Bishop notices me looking at him, and when we make eye contact, he licks his juicy lips, blows me a kiss, and winks. I feel a slight shiver run through my body because I know exactly what that naughty mouth of his can do.

I start toward Bishop, but someone pushes me from behind. I stumble a bit but catch myself. I turn around expecting an apologetic partygoer, but instead I’m met with Trixie’s smug smile.

“You should watch where you’re goin’,” Trixie says, smirking.

“Bitch, are you outta yo rabbit ass mind?” Dee says from behind me.

“Don’t go gettin’ all ghetto. I was just tryin’ to help. A clumsy bitch needs to always watch her step.” Trixie rolls her eyes.

This is the second time this bitch has tried me. There won’t be a third. Sometimes it’s easier to show people than to tell them.

I walk right up to Trixie and slap the smirk right off her raggedy ass face.
