15. Dancing The Night Away
DANCING THE NIGHT AWAY
BISHOP
One minute, I’m across the room flirting with my woman, then the next I’m hauling ass trying to get to her before she wipes the floor with a bunny. Trixie has been asking for a good ass whoopin’ for a minute now. It’s partially my fault for not putting her in her place sooner.
Honestly, as mean as I am, I felt a little guilty about how I used Trixie. Yeah, I know that we’re both grown, and I made it clear from the start what it was between us. But I still used her to make Blue jealous, and I can admit that was shitty.
However, it doesn’t give her the right to start any shit. I just told that bitch as soon as Blue and I got together that there would never be anything between us again. Trixie acted cool and collected, but I should’ve known that she was just giving me lip service.
Before I can get across the room, Blue and Trixie are on the floor scrappin’. I must say that my woman is getting the best of Trixie, just like I knew she would. When I reach them, Mix and Lurk are pulling them apart.
Lurk is a little too handsy with my woman, with his arms completely wrapped around her body. I know he’s just trying to help, but that shit rubs me the wrong way. I head straight for Lurk and snatch both him and Blue up.
Lurk grunts and Blue keeps trying to get at Trixie. I drag both their asses halfway across the room before I let Lurk go. I grab Blue around her upper body so she can’t swing and I can calm her down.
“Damn, man! You didn’t have to carry me like that!” Lurk’s face is red, and his eyes are wild.
Logically, I know that he was just trying to help, but that doesn’t mean I’ll let a fucking prospect holler at me. I don’t let anybody fucking yell at me. And it ain’t gonna start now.
“Watch your tone, motherfucker. You were trying to help, so I’m not gonna rock your shit, but you’re on thin ice. Go help calm those bitches down and stay outta my way before I change my mind,” I angrily reply.
Lurk grunts, but he moves his ass to do what I said. Blue is still breathing hard, but she has stopped struggling. I turn her around to look at her face to make sure she doesn’t have any cuts or bruises.
I give her a good once-over and see that she doesn’t have a mark on her. The only things that give away she was in a fight are her hair and shirt. Her afro is a little lopsided, and her shirt is ripped.
“That bitch had it comin’.” Blue narrows her pretty brown eyes, looking over my shoulder.
I know my baby wants to get back over there and finish whopping Trixie’s ass, but that’s not gonna happen. As much as Trixie had it coming, Blue doesn’t need to fight. I’m the one who fights all of her battles now.
“I know, but you don’t need to be fightin’.” I pull Blue’s face towards me so she can focus on what I’m saying.
“That bitch pushed me. What was I supposed to do?” Blue frowns up at me.
“You’re supposed to come to me,” I respond, shaking my head.
“Bishop, be fucking for real. You want me to run cryin’ to you when a bitch gets in my face like I’m some sort of pussy?
I wish the fuck I would. I’m gonna let you know right here and now: if these bitches want smoke, then I’m a barbecue their ass every fuckin’ time!
” Blue puffs, putting her hands on her curvy hips.
All I can do is bust out laughing. I knew before the words left my mouth that Blue would rather separate sugar from salt before she would ever come to me for some petty bullshit.
I normally wouldn’t get involved in the disputes the women have, but I won’t let these bitches try to bully my woman either.
I know what I have to do to nip all this shit in the bud. Blue might not like it, but she’ll have to get over it. I refuse to let anybody think they’re running me.
“Listen up, all you motherfuckers! Blue is officially my Old Lady. If anybody thinks about sayin’ somethin’ crazy to her or about her, think twice. Now, crank up the music. This is supposed to be a fuckin’ party!”
Blue wasn’t as pissed as I thought she’d be at my announcement. It’s not like it was a surprise to anyone anyway. We’ve been doing this dance for long enough that everyone knew it was coming.
“It’s about damn time you locked Blue down. I thought you’d never get your head outta your ass,” Rope says, sitting beside me at the bar.
“Yeah, well,” I grunt.
There’s no argument to make. I was being a stubborn asshole. I’m set in my ways, and I don’t see me changin’ anytime soon.
The party didn’t take long to get going again after Blue and Trixie’s fight. But Blue and some of the Old Ladies went off to freshen up. That’s code for rehashing the fight and talking shit about the bunnies.
The sweet butts and the bunnies got over the scuffle quickly too. They are back to partying and drinking like nothing ever happened. It isn’t unusual for the party to keep going no matter what around here. Too much shit can happen at any time for us not to enjoy ourselves whenever possible.
“So, you’re really claiming that bitch after everything we’ve been through?” Trixie comes out of nowhere to question me.
This bitch must really be fucking crazy.
I put my beer down so I could look her in the eyes properly. She must’ve been poppin’ pills or smokin’ crack cause it ain’t no way in hell she thought she could question me. I tried to somewhat save her feelings already by telling her in advance, but I didn’t owe her shit. I did that outta guilt.
“Bitch, we ain’t been through shit but a couple of condoms. I told your ass already what this was. There is no us. It ain’t ever gonna be an us.” I frown at the obviously delusional woman.
I had to put extra vitriol into my tone because Trixie ain’t pickin’ up what I’m puttin’ down. I don’t like to repeat myself, and she’s used up my last bit of patience. I’ve saved her ass twice, and she won’t take the gift. It ain’t gonna happen again.
“That’s how you really feel?” Trixie replies, hurt lacing her tone.
“Yes, bitch. Do you have to get your feelings hurt to understand? I tried to save you…”
“This bitch don’t wanna be saved. Now, take your funky ass on somewhere before Blue and the girls come back,” Tiny interrupts, shooing Trixie away from me.
Trixie stomps off without saying another word, and I just hope she finally gets it. It takes a lot to get banned from the clubhouse, but stirring up shit is one way to get gone real quick.
“I don’t think that one is wrapped too tight,” Rope says, watching Trixie leave.
“You got that right,” I mumble, sitting back down.
The party is back in full swing, and I still haven’t laid eyes on my woman again. I get up and go find her because I need her near me. We can finally be together without all of the bullshit between us, and I want to revel in that shit.
When I go to the back of the clubhouse, where the bathrooms are, Blue comes out. I take her in my arms and kiss her senseless before she can say a word. Her body automatically melts into mine, and she wraps her arms around my neck.
I kiss her until she’s breathless and gripping my hair. I slowly break the connection so I can lean back and gaze down into her beautiful face. Blue stares up at me with glassy eyes and a sweet, relaxed smile.
“Hey,” I whisper, pecking her plush lips.
“Hey,” Blue whispers back.
“You okay, slugger?” I ask, smiling.
“Don’t get me goin’ again. I just calmed down.” Blue slaps at my chest.
I chuckle, grab her hand, and kiss the back of it. We stand, staring at each other for a moment, neither of us wanting to move. I rock us side to side, swaying to the music playing while we stand in the middle of the hallway.
“Come dance with me,” Blue says, but she doesn’t stop swaying.
“We are dancin’.” I smile.
Blue giggles, pressing her body firmly against mine as she shakes her head.
I slide my hands down to her generous ass and squeeze.
Blue’s body is out of this world, and I can’t wait to be inside her.
When Blue grinds up against me, I know it’s time to cut this dance short.
I pull back and start leading her out of the hallway.
“Where are we goin’? I thought you didn’t want to go to the dance floor.” Blue strides to keep up with me.
“We are going to do a different type of dance, baby.”
I bypass the party and head straight for the stairs. The only dancing we’ll be doin’ for the rest of the night is the horizontal mambo.
