Chapter Eleven. #2
“Mommy!” Jayes yelled, and I looked up from where I’d been sitting in the sun, soaking up the rays.
It had been two days since Wanda-Faye had appeared, and I was waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I’d quickly got used to bikes roaring in and out all day, so I hadn’t thought anything different when I heard another.
“Oh my God! Falcon!” I yelled. Falcon grinned as he rode slowly down the road. Sitting in front of him was Jayes, wearing a helmet.
“I’m riding, Mommy! I’m like Falcon!” Jayes shouted.
“Relax,” Penny said as she sat beside me.
She was always at the clubhouse. Penny ran the kitchen and cleaning teams. She’d been a cook and had retired early to support Rosie.
She was aware Rosie worked long hours as a vet, and she had taken over some of the Queen Bee duties.
As Calamity was President, Rosie apparently held the title Queen Bee, head old lady, which meant nobody could overrule her.
“Falcon’s got Jayes on a bike,” I exclaimed as Falcon disappeared down the road.
“Yeah, and as soon as a baby can be strapped to their father’s chest, they’re on bikes. These kids ride before they can walk. It’s in their blood.”
“But Jayes doesn’t have biker blood.”
Penny grinned. “How do you know? Have you ever been on a Hog? Seems to me his mama might have a bit of wild.”
“Me?” I squeaked.
“Yup. Are you brave enough, Mama?”
I chewed it over. “Would Texas take me out?”
“No. In Rage. Only their old ladies ride behind them. That includes prospects too,” Penny said as Falcon came into view again. Jayes was whooping and loving this.
“Guess I won’t ever know.”
Penny’s eyes sparkled. “Falcon. Myka wants a ride.”
Damn, if I blinked, I’d have missed it. Triumph swept Falcon’s face as he pulled in immediately.
“Go get your riding gear, Penny, and Myka’s boots,” Falcon ordered. She was already walking away, grinning.
“Babe, you sure about this? I’ll go easy because you’re still injured.”
I was stuck on babe. “Huh?” I finally managed.
“Can you hold on to me? I’ll make it a short trip today because of your injuries,” Falcon repeated patiently.
“You’re taking me for a ride?”
“Yes.” Falcon’s eyes gleamed with amusement.
“But Penny said only old ladies ride on the back of your bikes,” I stated.
“Yeah?”
“I’m not your old lady.” Surely that was obvious.
A slow, sexy smile crossed Falcon’s lips. “Not yet.”
I was speechless. Was this gorgeous man saying what I thought he was? Dawson had taught me that nothing ever seemed what it appeared to be.
“Spell it out,” I ordered.
Falcon snorted, and the loud noise made me flinch.
He immediately stepped away, hands in the air.
“You’re on the back of my bike because I want you.
I’m taking things slow here, Myka, when all I wanna do is rip your clothes off and feast on you.
However, you’re nowhere near ready. I don’t give a fuck you’re married.
That’s easily resolved. But you need to heal mentally, emotionally, and physically before starting something with me. So, for now, we’re gonna date.”
“Date?” I whispered.
“Yeah.”
“I’m older than you,” I stammered.
“Don’t care.”
“I’ve got Jayes.”
“Yup, and one day he’ll have my surname.”
On unsteady ground, I blinked. “Falcon, I’m moving to a secure location and starting a new life.”
Falcon pointed downwards. “Yup, right here with us. The clubhouse is your safe house, and when our home is built, that will be.”
“Ours?”
“Babe.”
Babe? Was that meant to explain something? Falcon appeared intense but amused. “I’m damaged goods,” I said, and oops, big mistake. Now Falcon looked pissed.
“The fuck you are. You’re hurt because of the asshole you married.
I know how that came about. That doesn’t say shit about you, but it speaks volumes about Dawson.
If I meet your dad, I’ll beat that fucker ten ways to hell.
This will take time for you to grasp, but you will always be safe in my hands and on Rage land.
Ain’t ever gonna raise a hand to you or Jayes. Now, any more questions?”
“Loads!” I half-yelled.
Falcon grinned.
“Ask me when we get back. Thanks, Penny,” he said, taking a heavy leather jacket off her. He put me up in it, unzipping the cuff to go over my cast. Falcon glanced at my feet, and Penny produced a boot for the foot that wasn’t broken.
“These are hers,” Penny replied. Falcon nodded happily as he crouched, yanked off my slipper and shoved the boot on.
“We need to talk about that!” I informed Penny. The room I was staying in was very nice, and better than anything I’d ever had. But the closet was full of new clothes, and nobody would tell me who bought them. I currently didn’t have the money to pay them back, but I would eventually.
Moments later, Falcon was shoving a helmet onto my head. “When you’re healed, you can choose whether to wear one. For now, we’re protecting you.” He eyed my broken foot and then picked me up and carried me over to his bike.
“Luca, give me a hand,” Falcon called.
Luca jogged over. “I’ve got the divorce papers you wanted and the adoption application.”
I glanced between him and Falcon as Penny giggled. “You asked for them?”
Falcon looked at me and shrugged. “Yeah. It’s time you divorced that motherfucker, so why not now. And told ya, Jayes will have my name one day.”
“You’re moving too quickly!” I shouted.
Penny snorted in amusement as Luca froze.
“I said one day. If I move too fast, you’re gonna rabbit. Myka, my telling you what’s going to happen will stop you running. Because you’ll know what to expect.”
“Which is what?”
“We’re dating, and while doing that, you’re divorcing the waste of space you married. Then, when you’re used to me, and we have your papers, we’re getting hitched. You’ll wear my property cut, and in a couple of years, we’ll have kids.”
“Just like that?” I exclaimed. Falcon made it seem so easy.
“Yup.” He was way too confident and smug.
“Because you said so?”
“Yeah. Can we ride?” Falcon’s voice took on a wheedling tone.
“How do I get on it?” I asked, giving up for now.
“Luca’s gonna pick you up.” Falcon swung onto his bike and straddled it, and heat pooled between my legs.
Damn, that was a freaking vision. For a moment I imagined him on horseback, chest bare and sweaty, and swallowed hard.
The image distracted me, and before I knew it, Luca had lifted me and sat me on the Harley.
“Wrap your arms around me,” Falcon ordered. I placed my right hand on his waist. Penny snorted, stepped up, and shoved my ass so I was plastered to Falcon.
“Better,” he murmured. “Hold on to me tightly.”
My cast clunked against his stomach, but Falcon didn’t complain. “We’re taking this easy, a short ride, okay? We’ll gradually extend the time as you heal. Keep your foot where Luca positioned it; the pipes get hot.”
Before I could reply, the throttle revved, the exhaust roared, and the Harley moved. With my good arm, I grasped Falcon with a death grip.
Holy crap. Who’d have guessed that riding a bike felt like being alive?
I really needed a job and to buy one of these myself.
At first, I’d been tense and terrified I’d fall off.
But Falcon kept his word and took it steady, and I relaxed into his back.
This was amazing. So freeing, and I adored it.
Suddenly I was brave enough to mount a Harley, and I realised why these men and women loved it.
This was a memory I’d take to my grave. No matter what happened, I’d never forget this.
It was a brief ride, too short, but when we returned, I was beaming.
It had been fantastic once my fear fled.
Now I understood why Jayes had been grinning so much.
And a Harley was also a turn-on. That much power between your legs—oh God.
Wow. The bike had a natural vibration when moving, and the intimacy of our bodies plastered together was virtually indescribable.
Penny was right. I had a biker in me. What a surprise!
