Chapter 31 Back to the Apartment

I followed Ji Yanli downstairs.

Two black cars were parked below.

Ji Yanli and I sat in the one in front.

The car didn't head for the hospital. It went to that high-end apartment where I had stayed for a short time that day.

The moment we stepped out of the elevator, I saw a polished man in a trench coat leaning by the door with a medicine box.

When he saw us, he muttered, "Finally."

After we went in, Ji Yanli took me to the big bed I had slept on that time.

The man who came in after us took my temperature, checked the bruises on my abdomen, and listened to my heart and lungs.

"High fever. 38.8.

"Soft tissue injury on the abdomen. Some bruising. Needs fever reducers and something for the stasis."

He reported it calmly, then pulled syringes and bottles from the medicine box.

At the end he glared at Ji Yanli. "You really went hard."

I saw Ji Yanli with his arms crossed, watching all of it in silence.

His eyes were deep. I couldn't tell what he was thinking.

After the drugs went in, sleepiness surged up like a tide.

I couldn't fight it. In the end I sank into a heavy sleep.
