Chapter 37 Five Hundred Thousand
He bent down, one hand braced on the headboard beside me, trapping me in his shadow.
"Eat from the bowl, then put it down and curse the cook?"
"Qin Ye, do I need to remind you again? When you saved me back then, you had other motives?"
"So what?
"I saved you. I raised you. That's a fact.
"Without me, you might have been beaten to death in that shitty pool hall years ago!
"You get to stand here today and point fingers at me. Don't tell me Qin Ye doesn't get a share of that credit?"
I glared at him. My chest heaved hard.
Ji Yanli let out a cold snort.
I ignored him and kept going. "Yeah. I fucking had other motives toward you.
"Back then I looked at that face of yours, that body of yours, and I got dirty thoughts. So what?
"I, Qin Ye, was never a good man.
"I'm a bastard. I'm filthy. But at least I'm fucking straightforward.
"I wanted it, so I did it.
"I didn't do what you did, enjoying the benefits I gave you with one hand, and kicking me away as a pervert with the other."
I said that much in one go, and still didn't feel better.
In the end I clenched my teeth and added, "Anyway, the you now, even one look at me makes you sick to the core.
"Then pay me back the money I spent raising you those four or five years, and we'll call it even.
"I did the math. Four or five years, eating my food, drinking my stuff, school, clothes, everything you used. I'll count it as five hundred thousand. Not too much, right?"
Ji Yanli listened, went quiet for a moment, then gave a brief, cold laugh.
"Five hundred thousand isn't much.
"If you add it up, it's even a little low."
I didn't know what he meant by that.
But I still said it like a nail. "More or less, I won't quibble.
"Just five hundred thousand. Cash or transfer?
"Once the money's in my hand, I'll vanish from your sight at once. From then on you take your wide road, I take my single-plank bridge. We never deal with each other again till we die."
