Ch29 End of the Storm

(Yura POV)

Well this perch is uncomfortable, but I suppose this is best master could find within a short span of time.

That and I had enough space to work on killing that crazed bitch and stay hidden unless she actively looked for me. So it was decent enough I supposed.

And the perfect place to finish Hiten once and for all once master get's his chance.

Speaking of which I can see him entering area through a mad dash, with that crazy thunder bitch not that far behind him.

I flexed my fingers and tried my best to ignore the pain of the tears in my arms as I grabbed what I could and waited for the chance to strike.

It is time to end this once and for all.

(Inuko POV)

Thank Amaterasu for being half daiyokai as I was sure that I would have possibly not been able to walk at this point, a few more minutes and I should be able to at least run again.

Still it hurts to walk, but the sooner I get over this pain the better it will be to finish off Hiten once and for all.

"Lady Inuko!" I heard a voice call out to my and rapidly approaching.

Wasn't that Myōga, where in the deepest pits of Yomi has that coward been and why was he coming her now?

"Only warning unless it is important stay away, otherwise I am going to squash you flat." I snapped at the old flea getting him to stop in his tracks, clearly getting that I am not in the mood.

"That's why I am here, Lady Inuko you can use Tessaiga's sheath to defend yourself against Hiten's lightning!" He shouted out.

...What?!

"Explain!" I ordered/growled out at him.

"The sheath was made from the wooden boughs of one of Lord Tōga's vassals, Bokusenō.

Any other wood would not have be able to contain it's power.

Along with that the sheath contains several abilities, most importantly to absorb lightning generated from yokai.

" Myōga said, getting me even more upset.

"You better have a damn good reason why you didn't tell me earlier!

I am bleeding out, Kagome is trapped with the kit, Yura is hardly in any condition to fight, and Y/N is about to fight an insane raijū!

So you better give me a damn good reason why I should not squash you into paste for not speaking out earlier! " I shouted at Myōga furiously.

"I thought you could handle the raijū, but I never expected her to be this strong! Lord Tōga was fatally injured by a daiyokai that could use lightning to such a degree, and I will not lose you as well Lady Inuko!" Myōga said, stopping me in my tracks.

Damn, did not expect anything like that.

Still I suppose that is a good reason, for now.

"If we survive this, still expect that there is a chance to squash you." I said, getting the old flea to nod. "Now then, tell me how effective is this sheath?"

"Truthfully I am unsure Lady Inuko, the only time I have seen your father use it to such a degree was against the daiyokai and it only worked once before the sheath had to be repaired.

However Hiten is still weaker then that accursed dragon was, so it might last longer. " Myōga said, getting me to nod.

So I had at least one shot with this, it wasn't a lot but I could not afford to be picky.

Better use it when necessary if I wish to make it through this.

A massive bolt of lightning had erupted in the sky before crashing right in the direction where Y/N went.

Seems like Hiten is ready to finish this I suppose.

"Myōga either you follow me or leave like a coward, I don't care at the moment. I have got a raijū to kill." I growled out as I continued to walk over towards where the lightning struck.

Hope you can hold out for a few minutes Y/N, because I am on my way.

(Y/N POV - a minute earlier)

I waited against a rock outcropping.

Everything set up and ready to go, just need to wait for Hiten to show up, which should be any moment now. I just need to hold her off until Inuko is rested up.

I was under no impression that myself and Yura will be enough to hold Hiten back for long, let alone kill her. Not unless we can get Inuko with us or remove Manten's heart from Hiten. That and I hope the ice doesn't melt by the time we might have an opening.

Sure I might have some spheres filled with water on me and the large one on my back, but they were being kelp cold by my yoki. Everything else was slowly melting right now with the only boon being a small unfrozen puddle I could use in this area.

Other then that...there wasn't that many options to detain her with.

Lightning erupted above me before a massive bolt of it crashed in the middle of the area, clearing away to reveal Hiten floating in the air with a massive grin upon her face.

"Y/N are you ready to finally learn that it is a bad idea to fight me and accept the inevitable." Hiten said while twirling her halberd.

"I already know that, but that will not stop me from fighting to make sure everyone gets out of this mess alive and not being raped by an emotionally unbalanced raijū." I said honestly drawing Benigasumi, signaling Yura to start the the attack.

"Y/N, Y/N, Y/N. Bad choice of words. Brave maybe, but still terrible words for a last stand!" Hiten declared as she rocketed towards me.

A few icecles shot out towards Hiten, but she maneuvered out of the way and blasted them with lightning.

Giving me the perfect chance to charge another ice sphere with yoki and pass it off onto some of Yura's hairs.

Hiten dodged two more icicles before once again flying close to my, her halberd crackling with electricity.

She swung it downwards and I barely dodged her attack as it made contact with the ground, causing part of it to erupt as she discharged it into the ground and caused my to lose my balance and fall onto the ground.

I quickly regained my bearings and rolled out of the way as the bottom of Hiten's halberd crashed where my head was.

Trying not to think about nearly getting knocked out by the crazed raijū, I raised Shūsui to block a strike from her halberd. Which she managed to parry and tried to strike me again.

Only for the ice sphere to crash into her back, covering it in a thin layer of ice.

"Cold, so cold!" Hiten shouted as she covered herself in an electric aura and began to thaw herself out.

I rushed at her, clutching an ice sphere in hand. And Shūsui in the other hand.

I tried to slash at her with my blade, but Hiten just blocked it with her halberd.

"Nice trick, but sloppy swordsmanship." Hiten said as she parried my sword and swung the blunt part of her halberd towards me.

It collided with my stomach and sent me back a few feet and had me trying to hold my lunch in. That was not a pleasant experience.

I doubled down and Hiten tried to do the same thing again, but I stood back up and smashed ice sphere inside my hand. A moment later Hiten yelped our in pain as she was scratched by my new icy claw.

She pulled back and charged her halberd with electricity before screaming out in pain as two icicles embedded themselves into her arm.

Thank you Yura.

Hiten ripped them out and blasted a few more incoming icicles with lightning.

Yura kept her occupied while stringing a few more hairs along my way.

Closing my claw I froze it into a misshapen block and slipped my hand out. I also passed two more yoki charged ice spheres before Yura pulled them away.

"Y/N tell your vassal to back off or otherwise I will kill her!" Hiten shouted out in annoyance before blasting the nearby walls with lightning.

Yura's response to that was launching a particularly large icicle scratching her arm.

"Never mind killing her anyway after I deal with you, shame too. Second sexiest woman I've seen in a while after Kagome." Hiten shouted, before the ice block I made crashed into the back of her head and sent her spiraling towards the ground.

Seems like Yura took offense to that.

Hiten used her feng huo lun to stabilize herself before launching a lightning sphere towards quite a few icicles launched her way.

Unaware of the ice spheres crashing into her legs and freezing them solid.

"Damn it!" Hiten cried out as she tried to thaw them, only to be sent down into the ground when a large rock crashed into her face.

I rushed up to Hiten knowing that this was my chance.

When the raiju was airborne she held the advantage, but on the ground and with Yura backing me up. Well it was more of even playing field now, but for how long I do not know.

Hiten coated herself in an electric aura to thaw her legs out while clutching a bloody nose.

Wasting no timeI rushed towards her and with both hands on Shūsei I attempted to strike her, only for Hiten to block it with her halberd in her other hand.

"Not bad Y/N, not bad. But let's see how much longer you can last." Hiten said as she held her halberd with both hands and began to swing it wildly, forcing my to block it with my blade lest that I will be cut.

This continued on for a few moments, with me holding a few winces of pain as she nicked me in the arms with her halberd. Before I took a miss step and tripped, accidentally ducking under a swing that would possibly knocked me out.

Hiten took another swing, but I created an ice wall which she easily smashed.

But it bought me enough time to get back up and deliver a slash to Hiten's midsection, cutting part of her and my blade bouncing off of her armor.

Hiten screamed out in pain, which raised an octave higher when a few small icicles embedded themselves into her back. She fired another lightning blast towards where thought Yura was before rising into the air, her aura increasing in size.

"Not bad Y/N not a bad hit there. If I didn't have my armor that would have been quite the bad cut. I will give you props for trying. Still even with your vassal's help it will not be enough." Hiten said, charging up her halberd with electricity and holding it like a spear.

I backed up, only to smirk when I notice someone familiar out of the corner of my eye.

Looks like the calvary has arrived.

Hiten took aim at the center of the ground, preparing to throw her halberd.

"Hijin Kessō!" Inuko shouted as she unleashed a volley of blood blades, cutting up the raijū's arm and hand. Hiten held in a scream of pain as she unleashed the built up lightning at Inuko, who jumped away and landed right next to me with a wince.

"You alright Inuko?" I asked as she straightened herself out.

"I am fine, still fighting through the pain but alright. Though I can see that you at least managed to give the crazed bitch quite a fight." Inuko groaned out.

"It was mostly Yura though, I was only able to actually injure Hiten myself with her help." I said, getting Inuko to nod.

"Hate to give the hairy bitch any credit, but I will admit she did a decent job. Anyway you got one of those ice sphere's?" Inuko asked with an outstretched hand.

"Sure, do you want it charged with yoki or not?" I asked as I handed one to her.

"None at all, save the rest for yourself. You are going to need it in about a minute or two." Inuko said as she slipped the sphere inside her robe with a shiver before brandishing Tessaiga's sheath in on hand. "Enough time for me to create an opening if Yura doesn't already."

"I take it you have something planned?" I asked as I saw Hiten retrieved her halberd with a snarl.

"Yes, something the old flea neglected to mention earlier!" Inuko snapped to her shoulder, getting her retainer to flinch. "Still I advice that you step back. Don't want you to get caught up in the blast radius."

"Well if you put it like that alright." I said taking quite a few steps back.

Whatever Inuko had planned, I believe it might work. Well at least that is what I think anyway. It could go wrong, but with how confident and sure she sounded I will give her the benefit of the doubt.

That, and we could use all the solutions we could come up with if we wanted to make it out of this situation at all.

(Inuko POV)

"Ready to see if this trick really works?" I whispered to Myōga.

"Not really Lady Inuko, I would prefer to be anywhere but her to be honest. But I am more then willing to stay here to make sure you their is no repeat of what happened with Lord Tōga." Myōga said while shaking in fear.

"Well it won't." I said as Hiten as floated back into the air and glared at me.

"I gave you a few minutes to live while I knocked some sense into Y/N. But you were so eager to die that you came right back to me. If you wish be killed so badly, then who am I to deny your dying wish!" Hiten shouted madly, charging a lightning burst at the end of her halberd.

"If you can manage to hit me that is!" I shouted at Hiten, getting the crazed raijū to let out a loud roar of rage as she launched her attack in an attempt to reduce me to ashes.

I just held up my sheath for the upcoming blast, waiting to see how well this would truly work.

The lightning burst collided with the sheath and I had to use all my strength to keep myself from being pushed back.

But it was working, the lightning in the center of the blast was being absorbed by the sheath and the rest of it was being repelled by it and going around me.

"Impossible!" Hiten shouted as after a few moments the blast parted from me entirely and cratered the ground around me in the form of two trenches.

And without a single crack appearing on the sheath.

"So you think this is going to end up like last time now?" I asked Myōga as he let out a sigh of relief.

"Not at all Lady Inuko, but at least be a little cautious." The old flea said, getting me to nod.

"Considering how much wants to kill me it's a given." I said before turning to Y/N. " Be ready cause I am going to need your help in a second."

With that I jumped at Hiten, who let out a howl of rage and launched another sphere of lightning at me.

I raised Tessaiga's sheathe and once again pushed through the lightning burst until I reached the otherside and came face to face to a dumbstruck Hiten.

"Gotcha you crazy thunder bitch!" I shouted out as swung Tessaiga down at Hiten.

However she dove out of the way of the strike and tried to impale me with her halberd. I blocked it with Tessaiga, which the raijū tried to overpower. But an ice sphere hitting her right in the leg, freezing it and causing her to scream out in pain.

Which only increased in volume when I swung Tessaiga down and created quite the deep gash on her.

I smirked at her screams of pain.

Payback bitch!

Hiten crashed down into the ground and I landed right next to her. However the raijū shot back into the air, getting impaled by an icicle or two curtesy of Yura.

Hiten let lose her aura before lightning began to strike at her and she let lose howls of pain.

This was our chance.

"Hey Y/N, brace yourself." I said as I rushed up to him and grabbed him by the back of his gi and his legs.

"This is payback for Yura isn't it?" He asked.

"Consider us even." I said before I threw him at Hiten.

"Did you really had to do that Lady Inuko?" Myōga asked, only getting me to grin.

The lightning around Hiten stopped and she looked like she was staring to cough up Manten's heart before Y/N crashed into her and sent the two of them spiraling through the air. I jumped after them and threw and tackled Hiten, before jumping off off her with Y/N as she crashed into the ground.

I landed us down right next to crazed raijū as she started to lose her bile. I shared a nod with Y/N as the two of us rushed at Hiten.

She shakily raised her halberd to strike as she did her best to contain Manten's heart, but with the state she was in I was able to disarm her.

As Y/N got in close, an icicle embedded itself into her arm.

Hiten tried her best from crying out from the pain, but it proved to be the distraction that let lose the contents of her stomach including Manten's heart. As Hiten began to heave onto the ground, Y/N ran up to the the heart and began to freeze the heart.

"No, leave it alone!" Hiten shouted, grabbing her halberd and swinging it down.

I blocked it with Tessaiga, but I was forced on the defensive as Hiten kept swinging her halberd more wildly then even before. This kept up for a few moments before I noticed that her eye's glow started to fade and she could only look on in horror as she dropped her halberd.

Y/N had the completely frozen hands in his grasp, looking a bit disgusted with it. Considering where it had been I do not blame him.

Still all we need to do is keep it away from Hiten or smash it and-

"Give it back!" Hiten shouted out as she flew past me, raising her halberd back and swinging it down on. Y/N barely dodged it as the top end of the halberd buried itself down into the ground.

If Y/N wasn't a second faster, he would have lost his forearms and hands.

This was bad, very bad.

A minute ago Hiten at best was alright with cutting him up a little and knocking him out. But now with Manten's heart in his possession, she was just willing to cut off his arms to get it.

Maybe removing the heart wasn't a good idea as we thought.

Hiten let out a vicious snarl as I lept in front of him as she started swinging around her halberd wildly,

"Give it back! Give it back! Give me back Manten!" Hiten yelled out, any semblance of sanity seemed to be leaving her with every word. She turned to face me, charging up a lightning burst into her mouth.

Until an ice sphere was thrown into her mouth, causing the attack to discharge and for her to collapse with a smoking maw.

"Maybe removing the heart was a bad idea?" Y/N said.

"That it is, do you have any more of those spheres?" I asked him as Hiten started to twitch and pick herself up. How much did it take to put this crazy bitch down?

"Y/N run and find a place to either hide the heart or smash it! If she was willing to lop off your arms for it, then it is better for you to be away from here!" I shouted out as Hiten retrieved her halberd.

"What about you?" He asked.

"I can handle her, and maybe finish it once and for all. But you are her current target, so I suggest that you run." I said as Hiten let out a nasty snarl. "I suggest that you do it now!"

Y/N stood there for a second before nodding and running, Hiten saw this and shot out towards him.

I stood in front of her and managed to grab her leg as she tried to fly past me, I grabbed her leg and slammed her into the nearest rock outcropping.

She pulled herself out and the look in her eyes was haunting, no longer glowing but there was no sense of sanity left. There was only madness and they were borderline feral with a dark purple hue.

Along with the central shard embedded in her head.

Well this is just great, we might have gotten rid of her extra power but it has only made her madder. It seemed to be leaking out into the jewel shards as well and corrupting them.

That was never a good sigh.

"Get out of the way!" She snarled at me, barring her fangs and lightning bristling off of her.

"No chance, either you go after your brother's heart or you go after me." I said, holding Tessaiga in one hand and the sheath in the other.

Hiten looked at me confused for a second, getting me to wonder if she had truly forgotten what I had done before snarling and lunching at me like a wild animal with her halberd.

"Die! Die! Die! Die! Die!" She repeatedly snarled out, attacking me with wild swings of her halberd and lightning coming off of her body in arcs. Forcing me to block with both my blade and sheathe as her fighting style devolved from that of a warrior to that a snarling beast.

For once I actually feel a bit pity for her as an icicle embedded itself into arm and I actually get an opening to strike. I managed to get a small gash on her arm and caused her to pull back as she clutched it and used lightning to seal it shut.

All the while curling up up like an injured animal.

It was a shame to see the crazed thunder bitch in such a state, I will admit.

Best thing I can do now is to put her out of her misery.

Still I could care less, the quicker I kill her the faster this whole mess ends.

Hiten let out another snarl before leaping back at me before we continue our dance of steel and lightning.

Hopefully for the last time.

(Kagome POV)

It was a shame to see Hiten being reduced to such a state.

But what I was more worried about was climbing down this rock pillar while carrying an unconscious kitsune kit and his father's pelt.

After the little storm barrier faded away I made my move and began my decent down the rock pillar. All the while watching Inuko fighting Hiten with the occasional icicle from Yura.

Seeing her devolve into what amounted to a savage animal, it is honestly haunting.

Gone was the flirtatious, possiable psychopathic battle maniac and all that I saw was a wild human with her exposed skin marred with burns from healing herself.

Once again seeing her like this already added to the jumbled mess of my exact feelings for Hiten, but what I did know was that this needed to end.

"Kagome..." I heard Shippō groan out as I was almost to the bottom. I let out a sigh of relief as he was finally awake.

"I'm here Shippō." I said as I continued to climb down.

"What happened, where is everyone?" He asked out with a groan.

"Long story short Hiten knocked you out, trapped you and me on a rock pillar, and is currently fighting Inuko with Yura's assistance. Not sure where Y/N is though." I said as I finally reached the ground. "Though he should be around here somewhere?"

"You mean like right there?" Shippō said from my shoulder, pointing to the panting form of Y/N leaning against a rock outcropping, clutching a frozen object close to his chest.

Upon seeing him I wondered just why he was over here and not with Inuko fighting Hiten, until I got a better look at the object in his possession as we approached him.

A heart, more specifically Manten's heart due to how large it was.

I do not want to know on the specifics on how Hiten was able to devour that or how they managed to free it from her stomach.

"Y/N!" Shippō called out, getting him to notice us.

"Hey you two, glade to see that both of you are alright. Was about to see if Hiten's barrier was still up after removing this, but you both just answered my question." He said while breathing out a sigh of relief.

"I thought the same way, but why are you here? Especially holding Manten's heart. Wouldn't be better to have smashed it instead?" I asked him, getting Shippō to gag.

"You mean that is Manten's heart, gross!" Shippō said in disgust.

"Inuko told me to run with it and can you imagine how Hiten would react if she saw someone doing that?" He said, getting me to pause.

Considering her condition, if she saw anyone smashing it then there was very little to doubt that Hiten would straight up try to kill however did it on sight, no matter who they might be.

"Alright I can see that, so what are we going to do? I take it that either you or Inuko have an idea?" I asked, getting him to nod.

"I do have one in motion, but I was going to hand the heart over to Yura before rejoining Inuko. She might be strong, but she is also bleeding quite a bit." He said, getting me to nod at that.

As soon as Inuko died, Hiten would turn her attention to us and I do not wish to think what she would do in her frenzied state.

Probably what she was originally planned, but only worse.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" I asked.

"Yes, do you still have one of those arrows?" Y/N asked, getting me to nod.

"One left, but I have nothing to shoot with unless we are going to do what we had planned against Sesshōmaru?" I asked.

"Or I could turn into a bow." Shippō said, getting both me and Y/N to look at him. "What?"

"Nothing, it's just that is actually a good plan." I said, getting the kitsune kit to beam at me and puff out his chest in pride. "So we just need somewhere with a clear viewing. I guess you have somewhere since you are not carrying Yura?" I asked Y/N, getting him to nod.

"That's right, she is over there." Y/N said, pointing towards our left. "Keep walking straight that way and I am sure that you will run into where she is hiding and it has more then enough room for you two to get Hiten."

"Alright if that is all, let's get her once and for all." I said, getting Y/N to nod before holding out the heart.

"Kagome can you please take this?" He asked, getting me to sigh.

I should have expected this.

"Your leaving already to deal with Hiten are you?" I asked, getting him to nod. "Then why are you giving me Manten's heart?"

"The sooner we act, the sooner we can end this.

That and you are the only one I could trust with the heart besides Yura.

She is currently helping out Inuko and the later would probably smash it.

Same with Shippō as a way to payback what Manten did to his father from beyond the grave. " Y/N said, getting Shippō to pout.

Seems like he was right about that.

"Alright just make sure to make it out of this alive." I said as I took the heart from his hands, shivering a little from how cold it was and trying to to be disgusted at it.

While also not smashing it onto the ground as Y/N trusted me and I was sure that Hiten would possibly kill me if did so no matter how she though of me before snapping.

"Don't worry we will, take care you two." Y/N said with a smile before taking off.

As he ran back to where Inuko and Hiten where fighting, I sighed.

Not from the fact that I was disappointed Y/N had given me a heart that wasn't his own.

No it's just that I just wanted this all to end.

Yura nearly dying, getting kidnapped, getting hit on by Hiten, Manten getting killed, Hiten snapping and kidnapping myself and Shippō, and now we have to possibly pit down a feral raijū.

There had been enough conflict today that should have lasted me a lifetime and with each moment Hiten continues to fight.

Whatever Y/N has planned better work, otherwise I was not sure how much longer we could last out.

"Kagome, are you alright?" Shippō asked from my shoulder, breaking me out of my musings.

"I'm fine, just lost in thought." I said, getting him to nod. "But enough of that, we better hurry if we wish to deal with Hiten before Y/N and Inuko deal with her before us."

"Then let's go, then!" He shouted as I quickened my pace, with my self also eager to deal some Hiten for everything. "And can I-?"

"No Shippō as much as I want to do so myself, you cannot smash Manten's heart. Y/N has already told you not to do so, besides I believe that your revenge against him is more then fulfilled by now." I said, getting him to point.

"Fine, but I still hate what he did to my father even if he is dead now." Shippō grumbled out.

"Which I can understand, but smashing his heart would do you no good now. So wouldn't focusing your anger onto Hiten help you?" I asked, getting the kit to get get into a thinking pose before nodding.

"Maybe a little." He said, getting me to nod as we continued on our way, intent on finishing this farce once and for all.

(Inuko POV)

Damn it all, why won't this bitch give up already!

At this point it was a war of attraction, both of us not refusing to die and doing their damnedest to kill the other.

And I will be damned if I lose to this crazy bitch!

"Die! Die! Just die!" Hiten roared out as took some more swings of her halberd, clashing again Tessaiga before a pair of lightning bolts rained down from the sky and forced me back. Hiten let out a vicious snarl, before that was cut off as a small icicle impaled her in the back.

First one I have seen in a while, I guess that she might be running out of them.

Hiten burned herself with lightning to seal up the wound before snarling and launching lightning bolts at me.

For the next few moments I was forced to block a bunch of them with the sheathe once again. A bit of irony as the further here sanity slipped away, the more accurate her strikes were.

After a few more failed strikes, Hiten shot towards me and looked ready to impale me once again.

Until an ice sphere collided with right side and coated her right arm in a sheet of ice.

Seeing a chance I rushed forward and slashed Hiten as she started to melt the ice.

She howled out in pain as I cut up a massive gash from her shoulder and threw her armor before flying off to somewhere to patch that would.

Considering how deep it appeared it would take about a minute to seal it up. Still I was happy to manage to inflict such a wound on her.

"So did you hide Manten's heart or get rid of it?" I asked Y/N as I turned to face him as he approached me.

"Gave it to Kagome, she should be with Yura by now." Y/N said, getting me to nod.

"I see, personally I would have smashed the heart." I said with a shrug, as long as that feral thunder bitch kept her fangs away from the heart I could care less. "So you got any new plans then, not that mind cutting her up, but it is starting to get tiring and annoying."

"Not at all, just lure her over there and keep cutting her up until Kagome and Yura are ready." Y/N said, pointing towards an open area towards our left with a small puddle in it.

"And how long do we need to stall for this to happen?" I said, before hearing the all to familiar crackle of lightning and snarling.

Seems like Hiten has sealed it up faster then I thought.

"About a minute, but we need to keep her confined to that area though." He said as he backed up as Hiten made herself known and snarled at the two of us, looking who to attack first.

The one who hid her brother's heart or the one who killed him.

Y/N made that choice for her before starting to run towards that area with Hiten after him.

"Where is it!" Hiten shouted as she launching a lightning bolt at him, which I jumped in front of and blocked with Tessaiga's sheathe.

"Where is it!" She shouted again, diving after Y/N.

I swung Tessaiga at her, only getting the crazed raijū to dodge and come after him once again.

She swung her halberd at him, but Y/N reached the puddle. With a burst of mist he turned the water into a jagged ice shield lined, which Hiten's halberd broke through.

She swung again, but Y/N held Shūsui to block her and groaned out as he struggled against her.

"Get away from him you bitch!" I shouted, swinging Tessaiga towards her back.

Hiten heard my and with a snarl broke away from Y/N to swing at me, which I blocked with Tessaiga.

And left her back open for Y/N to cut her with his blade.

She howled out in pain before charging a lightning burst in her mouth directly towards me.

I just dropped Tessaiga's sheathe and reached into my robe and grabbed the ice sphere Y/N had given me. It was starting to crack in my grasp and I quickly tossed it to Hiten. It broke in her face and she let out a pain filled howl as she collapsed down to the ground, her mouth smoking

She got up, grabbed her halberd, and flew away just as I brought Tessaiga down where her head was.

Damn it, so close to ending it all.

"Just kneel over and die already you crazy thunder!" I shouted at her, getting Hiten to snarl back in turn before covering her halberd in electricity

She swung it towards me and I brought up Tessaiga's sheathe to block it, lightning starting to spark off it like crazy. She continued to apply pressure onto it, until the sheathe started crack.

"Shit." I cursed out as I jumped back and her halberd crashed into the ground.

Looking at the sheathe it looked like a minor crack, but it could probably last just another one of those attacks or two before snapping in two.

Hiten seemed to notice this and gave a feral smirk before launching a lightning bolt from her halberd towards me.

I jumped back and expected Hiten to attack me once again.

Only to speed towards Y/N. He barely had time to block with Shūsui before Hiten swung with her halberd and disarmed him.

And cut into him with her halberd before knocking him down to the ground.

That's it!

"Die you bitch!" I shouted as rushed at her and swung both Tessaiga and it's sheathe. Hiten pulled away from him and blocked my strike. However I gave all my strength into my strike and my blade cut through her halberd.

Finally, that damn thing was annoying as hell to deal with!

Hiten was just as surprised as I was ecstatic and furious. I took advantage of that and attacked her with both of them, getting the raijū to howl out in pain as Tessaiga's cut through her flesh and it's sheathe causing even more damage with it's anti-yokai properties.

She flew straight back into a nearby rock outcropping, growling out in pain from the impact as she began to seal up her wounds.

However at the moment I was more concerned with the fact Y/N It's have gotten quite the nasty gash from that bitch.

I rushed over to him to see Y/N wincing in pain as he tried to stand up, the gash half frozen.

"You alright?" I asked as I walked over to help support him.

"Not really, feels like it's on fire." Y/N groaned out.

"Considering it's from a raijū, believe me it does. Now stop freezing it close for a second so I can see how deep it is." I told him, getting him to comply.

While I might be pretty beat up from Hiten, I was still half daiyokai and some rest would be alright. Can't say the same for Y/N.

"It's shallow, so you won't have to worry about blood loss that much. But it is going to be a bitch to heal up from." I said as Y/N froze the rest of the gash.

"Tell me about he." He groaned out, getting me to nod before grabbing him and jumping out of the way of a lightning bolt.

Hiten let out a viscous snarl with lightning crackling in her hands. I placed Y/N behind me and had Tessaiga and the sheathe ready for the next round with this crazy bitch.

Only to grin when Hiten let out a loud howl of pain and crashed down into the ground.

If this is what Y/N had planned, then I was enjoying it.

(Yura POV - a minute ago)

"Make sure you have a clear aim at the crazy thunder bitch!" I growled out while manipulating hairs in one hand and setting Benigasumi on a hair with the other one.

"I have a clear shot." Kagome said as she notched the arrow onto her makeshift bow and tried to ignite the firecracker attached with the lighter. Only for it to click fruitlessly. "Damn it, either it is damaged or their is no lighter fluid left. Shippō do you mind?"

"Not at all." Shippō said from his bow form.

Which was just a furry knot with strings attached to the end.

It was quite pathetic to be honest and I agreed with the girl that the kit had looked like a snail, silently of course.

"Well save lighting it until Hiten gets into position, you only have one shot of this girl." I said, getting Kagome to nod.

"Don't worry I plan to make it count, need to make Hiten pay for all of this." Kagome said with a sigh with all of this.

She was feeling something about this whole situation, was it remorse or pity I couldn't tell. But what I can tell is that she is absolutely done with this whole ordeal and so was I.

That and the overwhelming desire to kill the crazy thunder bitch, especially after trying to recently cut open master.

Anyway a few minutes ago the girl and kit arrived with Manten's heart. Which I wanted to smash but as master entrusted it to Kagome I suppose I had to respect his decision. I told her and the kit of master's plan and they agreed to help wholeheartedly.

The plan was simple clip Hiten's method of flight after exhausting her and grounding her, immobilize the crazy bitch, and then burry her in all the frozen water master and I gathered though freezing some nearby puddles along with icicles to wear her down.

And as I had run out of the icicles and the bitch had broken Hiten's halberd now was the time to strike.

Speaking of which the crazy thunder bitch, she had just reappeared and was right in fronted the bitch and master.

And right into our crosshairs.

"Shippō how's the time." Kagome said, getting the transformed kit's bowstring to glow blue in return.

"Here you go." He said as the fuse was lit with foxfire.

Alright all we needed to do was wait for the crazy bitch to align with us perfectly and...

"Now!" I shouted, throwing my blade while the girl let lose the arrow. Both traveled straight and true and not even a moment later both found their targets.

Benigasumi sunk into the raijū's right thigh while the girl's arrow impaled itself in the back of her left shin, right above the ankle.

Her howls of pain where music to my ears, especially after they increased in volume after pulling out Benigasumi from her flesh.

"Well she is done now." The kit said, transforming back into his old self.

"That she is." Kagome sighed out. "So there is nothing else we can do?"

"Not at all, at least here. Maybe master and the bitch could have something for you, if not you can either stay here and watch or find another spot." I said with a grin while catching Benigasumi and the arrow exploded in Hiten's leg.

A sickening crunch erupted as she howl in pain and crashed down into the ground and getting Kagome to wince.

There is no doubt that the crazy thunder bitch was getting back up from that anytime soon, and it was so satisfying to see it.

"Well if you are going to leave or watch, now is the time." I said, wrapping my hairs around the frozen blocks for the part final part of master's plan. "Because in just a few moments it will be the end of Hiten."

(Inuko POV - a few moments earlier)

Well that was satisfying to see Hiten crash getting impale and shot at in the leg, there is still the fact that she is-

I was cut off from my thought as the arrow in Hiten's shin exploded with a sickening crack, getting Y/N to wince and raijū to crash onto the ground while howling in pain.

Okay never mind, that was pretty cathartic to watch.

Especially with her left leg bloody and bent like that and her method of flight crashing into the ground away from her.

"Inuko do you mind taking me to her?" Y/N groaned out.

"You sure about it?" I asked him, figuring with Hiten's condition he might want to get as far away as possible. Considering how she had five jewel shards, this could end very badly for him.

"I need to at least finish what I have started." He said, pointing over to Hiten who was trying and failing to pick herself up.

And the group of ice blocks being carried by Yura's hairs, similar to the one frozen onto Y/N's back.

Now I see what he is trying to do, not a bad plan.

"Alright I will take you there, but the moment the bitch is done get as far away as possible before I finish her off." I said, helping Y/N along the way.

"Don't worry I will." He said, getting me to nod.

I began to help him walk before he got strong enough to trudge along on his own, all the way Hiten tried and kept failing to stand back up.

She eventually noticed us and tried to launch a bolt of lightning at us, which I blocked with the sheathe which cracked even further. Hiten tried to strike again, but I threw the sheath at her and it bounced right of her forehead and caused the raijū collapsed back onto the ground.

Before trying to pick herself once more.

Hate to say it, but I have to give the bitch credit.

She is even more resilient then anyone else I have met.

But now it was time to end this farce.

Y/N removed the ice from his back and threw it near Hiten's broken leg, splashing it and her other leg with water.

She tried back away as Y/N began to generate mist from his feet, which started to freeze over her legs and getting her to how out in pain.

I was enjoying her screams of pain, considering it payback for all the pain she felt to us.

Until I was surprise when Y/N suddenly grabbed Hiten by her shoulders and helped her stand up as her legs started to freeze, with the raijū's reaction seemingly mirroring my thoughts.

What in the blackest pits of Yomi was he thinking!

Before I could even voice any action there was about 14 blocks of ice suspended over them and one by one they began to break into pieces by Yura's hair and fall along with water onto the raijū.

She started to thrash as the water came down upon her, but Y/N kept her hands on her as she kept thrashing and the ice only covered more and more of her.

By the fourth ice block she covered nearly to her neck, but the ice was heavily cracked as she tried to escape.

By the sixth her entire body was covered in cracked ice, but there was still signs that she was breaking lose.

By the eighth she had become an ice sculpture, but it wasn't the end of it as Y/N began to step back as the ninth ice block above her broke.

I watched in amazement as more water continued to fall on her and kept adding to the ice around her, that by the time of the final ice block she was completely entrapped in a block of ice herself.

Inside was the fearful and hate filled look of the crazed bitch, an excellent capture of her final minutes as a borderline feral yokai.

So this was Y/N's true plan, trapping her in a block of ice. With no hope of escape in her final moments.

For someone who was against killing Yura not even a week ago, this plan was downright lethal.

Then again considering how dangerous this bitch is, it was necessary.

Speaking of which, he was leaning against the frozen raijū looking out of breath.

"Let me guess out of yoki?" I asked while approaching him, ready to smash Hiten into frozen dust with Tessaiga as soon as he leaves.

"Got that right, took every last bit I had just to freeze her like this." He said, getting me to nod.

"Alright I suggest you better get started on running out of here." I said, getting him to nod. "Though before you go I have one question, why did you stand her up like that? Wouldn't have it been better for here to have been frozen on the ground."

"Maybe, but I figured that she at least deserved to die with some dignity after going mad with grief. From what I saw about her and what Kagome said, Hiten at least deserves this much no matter what she tried to do with us." He said with a shiver at the end, getting me to sigh.

Should have expected that, considering he did spare Yura after all.

If it was anyone else in this era, they would have just straight up killed her no matter the circumstances including myself.

But he was making sure that Hiten at least died with some dignity most would have preferred to die.

On their feet in defiance of whatever fate awaited them.

A fitting end for such a ferocious opponent.

"You are too kind sometimes." I sighed out, getting him to nod. "Now I suggest that you-"

I was cut off when I noticed a build up of light from within Hiten's icy prison.

You have got to be shitting me!

A burst of lightning erupted from the ice, went passed Y/N and forcing him to dive out of the way, and landed directly at my feet and forcing me back.

Upon regaining my footing I noticed that Hiten was partially out of her prison. Her head, upper body, and her right arm was freed.

She look beyond exhausted and shivering, but otherwise still ready to fight.

"How in Izanami's name are you still alive!" I shouted at her, getting a snarl from the raijū.

Hiten gathered lightning in her mouth, ready to discharge a blast of lightning at me.

Only to howl in pain and discharge it skywards as Y/N stabbed her through the chest with Shūsui.

Damn, didn't think he had it in him.

But better make sure he didn't finish the job.

Not that I mind depriving him of his first kill, after all he is going to need to do so in this era sooner or later.

No, what I was worried about that he might have just sealed his fate.

(Hiten POV)

So this is how I die...half frozen and impaled with a sword through the chest...quite a way to go.

Kind of like Manten, minus the ice and the sword still being in his chest.

At least I didn't die to that brother killing bitch and I died free.

The jewel shards, those things are cursed. They got both myself and Manten killed and in my rage I swear I heard whispers promising me the power to kill that bitch if I just gave into it.

I was a fool to have listen too them, but then again I suppose that I am a grieving fool who get her brother killed. So I took the easy way to forget the pain and be able to kill Inuko.

All it did was turn me into a snarling beast.

Dear Raijin I can still hear the whispers even now, but at least I can die as myself and at least I can die with dignity at the hands to someone like Y/N.

Though I can do without him looking at his bloodstained hands in shock.

Guess he never killed someone before from the look in his eyes, though he was still ready to stab me through the chest. Then again he helped disarm Sesshōmaru, so it would make sense he would have been used to something like this.

"Y/N get away from that bitch!" Inuko shouted as she rushed towards me.

She looked worried, though why would she be?

I mean I have some strength left, but not enough to worry about me. I was at the edge of Yomi in my state with the cold and blade through my chest robbing me of my strength with each passing second.

Still I was not going to let her interfere, if I was going to die it will be on my terms.

Not with that bitch around, and especially not with my killer acting this way.

I mustered all the strength I could and released a burst of lightning from my mouth and my hand, forcing the bitch back quite a bit away.

With Y/N still seeming I shock I grabbed his blade and pulled it out of my chest, barely holding in a yell of pain. Dear Raijin that hurt more pulling it out then getting stabbed in the first place!

Still at least this will hurry along my death through blood loss and quite frankly it hurt less to breathe with a sword in my chest with how long I had left.

This also got Y/N's attention and as he tried to run I grabbed by his left shoulder and pulled him in, getting him to yell out in pain with the smell of burnt flesh filled my nose.

Shit, forgot I had just launched lightning from that hand it would still be hot. For someone that is half Yuki-onna that is going to hurt like all Yomi.

"Sorry about that..." I groaned out, shocking him and getting me to chuckle. Dear Raijin it hurt even to do that. "Let me guess, didn't expect me to be able to talk like this...after all the snarling and acting like an animal..."

"Yes in fact I did." He said shakily, his tone filled with pain.

"I have you to thank for that...of course you also stabbed me and I am dying.

..but it is better then dying like a fucking animal to that bitch.

Still I remember everything from that time.

..I am sorry for that bit of trying to bisect you and planning to rape you.

..wasn't in the right mind to be truthful.

..still I regret nothing else from that time except for maybe planning to kill your vassal.

..But I suppose you got even in the end. " I said with a chuckle at the end.

"I suppose I did." He answered shakily, looking away.

I frowned at his response, now I can't have that now like that.

With a great deal of effort and blood leaking out of the holes in my chest and back I managed to free my left arm from the ice and grabbed his face. Forcing him to look me directly in the eyes.

"Now then I can not having you act like that...while I am dying here. Let me guess...you regret having to do so..." I asked him, getting Y/N trying to look away. "There is no brushing off this issue...you at least owe me that. So spill it out...do you really regret having to do so?"

"I do...I know it was necessary to one day kill, but I never expected it to have done this so soon." He said shakily, getting me to nod.

"No one ever does...you can justify it all you want, but in the end.

..killing is killing. That is the way of life.

..at least for a raijū...the ones that life dictate how they want and what they do.

You can be killed for attacking those close to them.

..to gain territory...out of vengeance..

.or for food. Either way whatever happens next will be dictated by those who live and survive.

..nothing can change what has happened..

." I said before coughing up some blood.

"If I had my way...none of this would have happened.

..my baby brother would still be alive..

.and I wouldn't be staring down the abyss of Yomi. But it wasn't all bad I suppose..."

"How so..." Y/N asked a little less shakily.

Looks like he is starting it, at least it is a start.

"I meet you and my dear Kagome..." I said with a small smile at the thought of her. "I meant everything I said about her. She is one fine woman...don't you agree?"

"That she is." Y/N said in agreement, his face a little red.

I laughed at his reaction, it was kind of adorable to be honest.

"Something we can agree on...shame about the circumstances, would have been perhaps the best threesome I have ever had...or lay ever. But who knows..." I groaned out as I felt the strength fading from me.

Damn it...I am nearly out of time.

"Y/N...you gave me the chance to die with dignity...so can you at least do me the favor of hearing out my last requests..." I said, getting him to nod shakily.

"Whatever you have to say, I will do whatever I can." He sad, getting me to nod.

"Then I have two things that I want you to promise.

..first off if you come across a raijū named named Sōten.

..tell her that big sister and big brother are sorry for leaving her alone.

..Manten's last words were the same promise.

..another failure as an older sister I suppose.

.." I said, trying my best not she'd tears at the thought.

I can shed them with my family on the other side.

"As for my second promise...next time you kill someone.

..let your look them in the eyes as you do so and show them how you truly feel.

..well if you get the chance anyway. Still it is the ultimate form of respect, showing an opponent how you truly feel about them in their eyes.

..from seeing them as nothing more then an insect.

..to understanding and remorse for having to kill them.

So can you promise me that you will honor my last requests. "

"I will." Y/N said honestly, getting me to smile.

He and Kagome, what a pair.

Both fit the criteria of what I find attractive, especially their extra traits.

One had a hidden wealth of reiryoku locked away that could qualify her for being a powerful miko, but was quite brash for the role along with quite the killer instinct to her.

The other one was a hanyo with quite a bit of power flowing through him and although he was calculating, he lacked the same killer instinct and was more honorable then almost anyone else that I have ever meet.

They are quite the pair...now if only they would be open about it...

Still things could have been great between us.

"Thank you...now while I have many regrets...mostly involving not being able to kill the bitch...the one I have the most at the moment...is not meeting the two of you earlier." I said with a small smile as I breathed what I thought my last.

Though instead of my vision fading to black, it faded to a bright violet.

(Inuko POV)

"Damn it Y/N!" I called out as I finally reached back to Y/N and a familiar burst of light appeared.

Y/N was absorbing the shards once again, and this is the very thing I was trying to prevent.

Damn that bitch, I hope she burns in Yomi for this!

The light cleared out and to my horror I saw that he was frozen in a massive pillar of ice, in the center was an almost serene looking Hiten and a remorseful looking Y/N. And at his chest the five shards burrowing in.

"Damn it!" I cursed out, slamming Tessaiga into the pillar. Carving out a huge chunk out it, but it seemed to slowly be closing up. "Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!"

That bitch is dead and if I do not get in their soon she could be taking Y/N with her!

Y/N if you are still alive in their hold on, we are going to get you out of their!
