Rosama

Iwas cooling around my crib, smoking, and playing the game and trying to get in touch with Nylah.

I don’t know what the fuck she was on this time, but ignoring me was something I wasn’t used to—something a nigga like me never dealt with, and I didn’t like how it was making me feel.

I tried to put my feelings to the side and relax when I heard a knock at the door.

I raised up with my Glock in my hand. Nobody eva came to my crib. I went ova and checked the peephole and laughed to myself.

“Niggaaa…” I said as I opened the door. “You could have told me you was sliding through.”

Dre walked in laughing as I dapped him up. “It was a test, nigga, tryna see if you was on ya shit.”

“Nigga, you know you don’t have to test me. I stay ready.”

Dre agreed as we sat down. “Facts, my nigga.”

I turned my game back on as he lit his blunt.

“What you doin’ here?” I asked him.

“I came through to talk business,” he said as he exhaled smoke. “You told me to put together a team, right?”

I nodded. “Yeah, you found some niggas?”

“Our day ones, nigga,” he said low. “Flip, Bando, and Blaze.”

I smiled. “My niggas! They are the truth.”

Dre nodded. “Yeah, I just talked to Flip. That nigga lost his job at the college for fuckin’ with the dean, then you know Bando and Blaze get out in two days.”

“I forgot about that shit. They havin’ a party for them, right?”

“Yeah, it’s goin’ up in the city that night. I was thinkin’ we lock in with them. We already know Flip can run the guns, and them twins nasty in the streets.”

I agreed. “Us in the streets is a dirty combo. Niggas would be scared to make a move.”

“And that’s what the fuck we want, have all the money for ourselves.”

“I like that. The take ova.”

“The mothafuckin’ take ova that’s needed,” Dre added.

“Put that shit together, and when everything is a go, I will make moves.”

Dre went on talking about what he wanted to set up when I paused the game to check my phone. Nylah still hadn’t hit me back, and I sent her ass another message.

“You good?” Dre asked.

I exhaled. “Yeah, getting pissed tho. Nylah not hittin’ me back.”

Dre laughed. “For what? What did you do?”

I shrugged as I started the game back up. “I don’t even know. The date went good like I said. I was tryna lock in with her for real, and she ghosted me.”

“Damn, nigga, what the fuck you gonna do about that?”

I laughed. “Man, you already know, I’ma show her why you don’t ghost me.”

“Man, don’t get locked up ova some pussy.”

“Neva that. But she gonna know I'm not the nigga you play with.”

Dre sucked his teeth. “Just go get another bitch.”

“I will until she come around, but I want her.”

Dre laughed. “Dog-ass nigga. Tell me this. What’s the move for the night? I know you ain’t finna sit up in the crib.”

“Man, fuck that,” Dre said. “My nigga Sosa got a dog fight goin’ on tonight. That shit usually live, and the bitches out there be fine too.”

I nodded. “Yeahh… they do. Let's slide through later, I’ma finish on 2K first.”

Dre stopped up and reached out his hand.

“Cool,” he said as I dapped him up. “I’ma slide back through later.”

He left, and I tried to focus on my game, but my mind was on Nylah. I wasn’t tryna crash out, not yet. But the way I wanted her was something I wasn’t used to.

I neva thought about a shorty the way I was thinking bout her. I paused my game again and gave her a call. It rang and rang, then went to voicemail.

The longer I sat there, the more I could feel myself about to spazz. So much so that I didn’t even want to go out anymore.

I stood up and lit my blunt that I didn’t finish and called Dre.

“Yo, I don’t think I’ma slide tonight.”

“Nigga what?” Dre yelled. “What the fuck are you on?”

“I don’t even know, to be honest. Nylah ghosting me got me ready to crash the fuck out!”

Dre laughed. “You ain’t even had the pussy.”

I laughed with him. “I know! But I ain’t eva had a bitch ghost me like that. I do that shit.”

“So what the fuck you gonna do, Ro?”

I exhaled as I looked out the window.

“Nothin’ right now, but when I come across her again…Like I said, she gonna know not to treat me like some lame.”

I gave her one more call, and this time, it went straight to voicemail. She wasn’t busy. She wasn’t missing the calls. She was straight up ignoring me.

“I don’t know what you thought it was, but I don’t get ignored. I’ma see you, princess.”

I hung up the phone and finished smoking. Nylah thought she was bigger than the program. Shorty didn’t know who she was fucking with for real, but she didn’t even know she was about to find out.
