“Dirty” Shirley Temple

“Dirty” Shirley Temple

This isn’t really a recipe with amounts, but more a “measure with your heart” kind of thing. These are the kinds of drinks that, if made right, you don’t taste the alcohol, which is why it was Kierstie’s drink of choice at the beginning of her book.

INGREDIENTS:

Grenadine

Vodka

Maraschino cherries

NOTES:

For the grenadine, I use around a tablespoon or so but measure it by eye. For the vodka, I usually do a one-shot measure for this drink. However, if it’s been a rough week, I’ve been known to pour the amount that looks right to me at the moment.

I don’t bother with just one cherry. This is the place for overachieving. I put in at least four or five, minimum. This drink isn’t about being reserved and demure. Put all the fucking vodka you want in it. Bring out your inner six-year-old and add all the cherries. Enjoy it.
