Chapter 8 #2
“No.” I shake my head. “Everything just feels... right. Like it was meant to be. I’ve read a lot about scent matches, and I know it’s not that, but it sure feels a hell of a lot like it.”
“Doesn’t surprise me. You two were already acting like a married couple. No one in this town will be shocked to find out you’re together.”
“Good. Now Amy can stop looking at Emmett like she wants to take him for a ride.”
“Lexi!” Silva snorts out a laugh.
“What?” I throw my hands up. “She was looking at my man with intent.”
“Amy is a good person, be nice. And to be fair, he wasn’t your man until just a few days ago.”
“Everyone knows he’s been mine since he moved here.” I glare at her.
“Everyone but you.” She is having way too much fun with this.
“I hate you,” I mutter.
She laughs. “How did everything go with your first heat? I know how you felt about it before, but has your mindset changed?”
“Emmett was amazing.” I smile. “He was so gentle and understanding at first. I honestly don’t remember much, just that he eased me into it so that I didn’t feel any kind of fear or pain.”
“He’s a keeper,” she tells me. “Don’t let that one go.”
“I don’t plan on it. But seriously, I don’t know how he did it.
Omegas are supposed to be needy and sex craved during their heats, right?
Yet this man kept going, and going, and going.
” I bite my lip, trying not to get aroused in my sister’s bedroom as I think about Emmett.
Naked and grunting as he fucked me into a new world.
“I’m impressed,” she laughs. “It’s because he’s a young, fit Omega.
Mostly because he’s an Omega.” She gets up and goes to her closet.
“But if you think he might need some help, I do have some recommendations.” She steps in, then comes out a few moments later.
“This one would work. It has a knot and all.” She holds up a dildo, and I gape at her.
“And this vibrator will have you cumming so hard, you’ll see stars. ” She holds something else up.
“Stop!” I burst into laughter. “Oh my god, Silva, please stop. I don’t want to see my sister's sex toy collection."
“You sure?” she laughs. “Because it’s a big one.”
Grabbing one of her pillows, I bury my face into it, cheeks blazing.
“It’s okay.” She puts the stuff away. “I’ll order you some I think you would like.”
“You are crazy,” I murmur into the pillow.
“What's crazy is the cookies I have downstairs that are not being eaten. Can you pull yourself away from Boy Wonder for the night and have a sleepover with your twin?”
It’s been a while since we had a girls' night. “You know what? Let’s do it.”
We head downstairs, and I text Emmett that I’m staying over at Silva’s tonight. We grab the cookies she made and set up camp in her living room.
“What movie do you wanna watch?” Silva asks, pulling up the movie app.
“You know which one.”
She gives me a look. “Are you sure?”
“Yup. It’s been a while.”
“Alright,” she says reluctantly. “If you say so.”
Why am I doing this to myself? I’ve seen this movie a million times, and sure, this scene has always made me shed a tear, but right now I’m blubbering like a baby.
The doorbell rings, and Silva pauses. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
“I’m fine,” I sob, blowing my nose. “I’m fine.”
“You’re a nut job, is what you are,” she mutters before getting up to answer the door. “Lexi!” she calls out. “Your boyfriend is here.”
My heart skips, and I jump to my feet, eager to see him. “Hi!” I cry out, throwing myself into his arms.
“What's wrong?” he asks, hugging me tightly. “Are you okay?”
“She’s fine,” Silva says. “Just being a big baby.”
“He can’t see without his glasses,” I sob harder into his chest.
“You let her watch My Girl?” Emmett sighs. “You know how she gets.”
“She wanted to,” Silva defends. “Lexi, thank the nice man for bringing us food.”
“Huh?” I pull back and look over at her. She has two pizza boxes in one hand and a bag of what smells like Chinese food in the other. “You brought us food?” I look back at Emmett and start to cry again.
“Way to go, big guy. You broke her,” Silva groans.
“Sorry?” Emmett looks like a deer in the headlights.
“You’re so sweet,” I sob harder. “You thought of us. You’re feeding us.”
“Would you get a hold of yourself, woman?” Silva chastises. “Or I’m going to make him take you home.”
“But we’re not done with our movie.” I sniff, wiping at my eyes. “And I wanna stay.”
“Lexi,” Emmett says my name. “Take your food, go have fun with your sister, and I’ll see you later, okay?”
“Okay.” I nod, and Emmett leans down to kiss me.
“I love you,” he murmurs against my lips, and my heart swells.
“I love you too.”
Silva makes a gagging sound. “You two are disgustingly adorable.”
Emmett chuckles and kisses me again before leaving.
“I had no idea they made them like that.” Silva places the food on her coffee table as we settle back into the living room.
“Made what like what?”
“Men,” Silva moans. “So much yummy food.”
“The Cheese Knees has the best pizza ever,” I admit, taking a slice of cheese pizza from the box.
“You know, if you want to go hang out with Emmett, you can.”
“I’m not going anywhere,” I tell her. “We’re having sister time, and just because I have a new man in my life, doesn’t mean I’m going to make him my whole world.”
“Babe, he already has been for the past five years. The only thing changing is now you two will fuck and kiss.”
“Mhhmm,” I hum. “I do like the newly added benefits."
We both laugh and decide to change the movie to a comedy.
I end up falling asleep on the couch with Silva. I don’t know what time it is when I’m woken up from tapping at her window.
Sleepy-eyed, I sit up and look around. The TV is still on, the loading screen to the movie app we were using, giving the room some light. The tapping starts again, and my heart sinks when I realize it’s coming from her sliding door that leads into the backyard.
“Lexi, it's me.” Emmett’s muffled voice sounds from the other side, and I relax.
Rushing over, I open the door. “What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to see you.” He smiles down at me, and god, I swoon.
“You are nuts,” I hiss, looking back over my shoulder to Silva. She’s still sleeping. “And this gives off stalker vibes, you know.”
“I know,” he chuckles, cupping my face. “Now kiss me and go back to bed.”
“I can’t believe you right now,” I grumble, but lean up on my tiptoes and wrap my arms around this fool of a man. My man. He’s so damn cute it’s gonna kill me.
He kisses me until my toes curl, and I have to swallow down a moan. “Night,” he murmurs.
“Night,” I reply breathlessly. He kisses me on the nose before stepping back. He winks, a smile on his face and a low chuckle before disappearing into the darkness.
Was what he just did a little over the top? Yes. Does it change the fact that I’m giddy like a schoolgirl? Not at all.
