Chapter 7 Hunt in the Corridor

The corridor was dim.

Xiao Mei dragged the hammer along, strolling through it as if on a casual walk.

She slowly opened door after door.

The rooms before had all been wards, sparsely furnished.

Nothing more than a bed and a cabinet.

Besides the cabinets, Old Wang had nowhere else to hide.

Finding him was only a matter of time.

But the problem was there were too many rooms. One empty. Two empty...

In less than ten minutes, the child's patience ran dry.

She cupped her hands around her mouth and said in an exaggerated voice:

"I already see you!"

But Old Wang was an old hand. There was no way he would fall for that bluff.

Half a minute passed. The corridor stayed dead silent.

Xiao Mei called out a few more times with no answer. She stood helplessly in place.

Heat gathered in her eyes until they brimmed with tears, then she tipped her head back and wailed.

She stamped her feet and cried, "Brother, Brother, my little mouse is gone, Brother!"

The piercing child's voice bounced off the walls and came back thin and wrong.

Soon the crying stopped.

"Xiao Mei" said softly, "There, there, don't cry. Brother will find it for you right away."

She smiled coldly, then hefted the hammer and walked to the next room.

She didn't open the cabinet. She smashed it with one swing.

A huge bang.

Wood chips flew. The cabinet fell to pieces.

Brother didn't seem to care whether Old Wang lived or died.

It looked like he only needed to find him.

Even a pile of meat would be enough to hand over to his little sister.

This room was empty.

Brother didn't hesitate. He walked straight into the next one.

Bang bang bang!

He seemed to have endless strength.

He smashed through several rooms without even flushing or breathing hard.

At last, Old Wang couldn't take the pressure closing in on him.

He let out a yell and burst out of one of the rooms, running for it.

Brother was ready. He snatched up a sharp piece of wood and flung it.

Puchi!

The wood spiked into Old Wang's calf.

His knee buckled. He dropped at once, momentum rolling him several times across the floor.

"Aaaah!"

Old Wang clutched his leg and howled.

He had actually made it to the far right end of the corridor, less than three meters from the stairs.

The stairwell mouth glowed green, a bright open way out only three meters off.

Old Wang gritted his teeth and crawled toward it on hands and knees.

Brother was in no hurry. He seemed to have all the patience in the world to play with him.

He grabbed a wooden stick, twisted it once in one hand, and under that crushing grip the stick shattered apart.

He used those sharp wooden strips like darts and loosed them all.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

The strips screamed through the air and stabbed, with perfect accuracy, into Old Wang's crotch.

"Ah!"

Old Wang was in so much pain sweat poured down his face. His eyes bulged like they might pop out.

He rolled all over the floor, but those strips seemed to have eyes of their own, racing each other to pierce his crotch.

As fellow men, Xiao Zheng and I both couldn't help clamping our crotches tight.

"You think when he pees, it'll come out like a shower head?"

Xiao Zheng said it with a twisted grin.

The picture hit me at once. I couldn't hold it in and laughed out loud.
