Chapter 6

chapter six

ivory

The atmosphere in this place was exactly what I needed to get out of my head.

Bodies on bodies were flowing through the current of the beat blasting out the speakers.

The Social gave me the perfect distraction from my thoughts.

I had been having this reoccurring sex dream, fantasy, whatever, starring my best friend.

It was messed up, the dream kept replaying that moment in the cabin over and over again.

Donavan didn’t stop at my lips, he covered every inch of my body with kisses.

When he would go down to my lower lips, he’d smirk at me.

That smirk was lethal enough to dissipate my defenses, and I was gladly opening up my legs wider to make room for him.

My alarm woke me up just before he could place a kiss there.

Clearly, I was fucked. I had never in my life wanted to be with a man.

After my father disowned me for being who I was created to be, I swore off all men.

There weren’t any prospects that I’d ever considered being with.

After that, it didn’t matter to me. I’d only been with women up until that time, so it was a no-brainer.

Once I fell into Acacia’s web, there was no turning back.

I was ready to spend the rest of my life with the woman of my dreams, until the sandman tore my dreams into tiny little pieces.

A hand on my thigh brought me back to the present. Graycen rented a section for us to hang out here, and Camille and her best friend, Sade, looked concerned. Everyone was walking on eggshells around me, I must’ve been the only girl left at the altar they knew.

Donavan’s lips gently landed on my ear, and goosebumps immediately appeared. My ear was one of my spots, it was like a faucet turned on and my cute thong had been officially ruined.

What is he doing to me?

“Are you okay, Poison Ivy? You’ve been nursing that drink since I put it in your hand.” No, I’m not okay because being around you has been changing everything that I know about myself. I wouldn’t dare say that out loud, but it felt good to admit to myself.

I scooted a few inches away, faking in an attempt to go talk to the girls. Donavan grabbed my thigh, too close to my treasure, and pulled me right back where I was.

He lightly grasped my chin to face him, the feel of his touch had me fighting back a moan. If I moved half an inch, we’d be touching for real.

“Do you want to leave?” I was great at reading lips, thank God. Because if he put his mouth to my ear again, I would be a goner.

It’s like he didn’t know what his touch did to me. To be honest, Donavan had always been free in his touch and affection. I mean, his hand had never been so close to my pussy before, but there’s a first time for everything.

“Yes, I’m gonna go dance with the girls.” He freed me from his clutches.

Finally, I could breathe again.

After the girls went down to dance, I shot the shit with my brothers and Nasir, Graycen’s best friend.

My only friends were my brothers and Ivory.

I didn’t really gravitate to a lot of people, it was hard to recognize who was real or not.

Our parents’ fame garnered a lot of attention, so I just stuck to my family at the end of the day.

“Wassup with your girl Ivory? She was looking a bit flustered over there. What did you do to her?” Braylin teased, he was feeling that whiskey.

“Wait, something happened between you two? I thought she was strictly pussy.” Nasir joked.

“Cut that shit out, I ain’t do nothing to her… yet. She been giving me mixed signals for a few weeks now. When I went to ask her a question, her skin lit up with goosebumps. That never happened before.” She thought I didn’t peep her shifting in her seat, too.

Graycen laughed, while the rest of them looked shocked. I hadn’t had a chance to talk to Braylin yet, since he’s been wrapped up in his own world.

“I don’t know, Donny, she might be feeling you.

You should test it out to see if she bites.

Camille came up with a whole list of fake dating rules for us to follow.

The only thing it did was bring us closer, all that pretending caught up with her.

I wanted her from the jump, but it took my slow baby some time to catch up.

” Graycen pondered before shoving a chicken wing in his mouth.

“Nah, bro, you might be on to something. My mom made me watch this movie with her, I can’t remember the name of it right now. But shawty was trying to get back at her dude, Vivica Fox played in it. Anyways, she had him going through hoops, but it worked out in the end.” Nasir chimed in.

Two Can Play That Game was Ivory’s favorite movie. I knew exactly what he was talking about; Shanté, the main character made her man, Keith, jump through hoops. I wasn’t into playing games with people, this is real life, but it wouldn’t hurt to see how I could get a reaction from Ivory.

The conversation went from me to everything else. Standing up, I dragged Nasir with me to the dance floor where Ivory was dancing with the girls. I noticed this fine woman standing by the bar and it just so happened to be in Ivory’s direct eyesight.

Ivory looked too damn good tonight, she had on a black leather skirt that was too damn short for my liking. Her white t-shirt read baby girl, and those heels were red – my favorite color. I didn’t give a fuck about fashion, her ass in that tight skirt made my dick throb.

I smiled at the joy on her face when she saw me approaching, but she was not my target right now.

“Hi, beautiful. I saw you from my section and there was no way I could leave here without introducing myself, can I buy you another drink?” The beauty looked up from her phone, took one long glance at me, and then smiled. I knew I had her.

If a man couldn’t read the signs that a woman wasn’t interested in him, he was a lame. Women did not have to tell us with their words that they were not interested, we can read their body language.

“Of course you can, Mr. Matthews, had I known you were going to be here tonight, I would have worn my lucky shoes.” I could have this woman back at the crib by tonight, if I wanted to.

Ivory was still there with me, so that wasn’t happening.

Now that I had a small inkling that Ivory felt something for me, she had all my attention.

I smiled while tossing a backward glance over my shoulder, Ivory was staring right at me.

She didn’t even try to look away; this was normal for us, though.

We used to scout for women together before she got with Acacia.

I winked at Ivory, and gave all my attention to the woman giving me fuck-me eyes.

Diamond accepted my invitation to spend the rest of the night with us in the section. Everyone greeted her with nods and smiles, all except Ivory. She acted as if she didn’t see us, all of her focus was on Camille and their plan for the wedding.

Ivory started her own business, Intertwined in Ivory, five years ago.

I gave her the startup money, and after that, Acacia had a problem with our friendship.

Acacia didn’t know about the promise that I made to Ivory when she graduated from high school.

I told her if she pursued her dreams, I would buy her first piece of property.

She was depressed after she’d come out to her parents and her father acted as if he only had one daughter.

I don’t know how a father could abandon their child, that shit would never sit right with me.

Ivory was ready to give up college at that point, so I said whatever I needed to say to motivate her at the time.

Diamond was perched in my lap, whining her hips to the music, and I wouldn’t lie and say it didn’t feel good. I’m a warm-blooded man at the end of the day, but my shit would be on brick if it was Ivory.

Ivory was on drink number three, no longer hiding her feelings towards our guest. Her cute face was now frowned up, only half listening to whatever Sade was saying.

I have to give it to her, though, she was holding on longer than I thought.

Ivory got flirty or petty when she was drunk, depending on the color of the liquid.

“So, Mr. Matthews, what do I have to do to get a taste of what I saw in your SportsMania photoshoot. I can feel the bulge, and there’s no hiding it, baby.” She was thirsty, a sure sign to turn me off.

I wanted to chase my woman and be rewarded by her capture.

“Just vibe out with me for a minute, we’ll see where the night takes us.” She smiled too brightly, I almost felt bad. If she wasn’t leaving with me, she didn’t have a problem in the looks department, so she was sure to find someone else.

Sabrina Claudio, Ivory’s favorite singer, blasted through the speakers of the club. I looked at her and saw her grinning. She started grooving in her seat, jamming out, and I knew she was itching to get up and dance.

“Wanna Know” was the perfect slow jam and before I could get up to ask, Ivory made her way over to me and my date. She lightly tapped Diamond on the shoulder, then directed her attention to me.

“Can I have this dance? You know this is my song.”

“Hell yeah, will you excuse me for a minute, beautiful?” Diamond pouted, but stood up anyway and Nasir patted the seat next to him.

I grabbed Ivory’s awaiting hand as she ushered us back to the dance floor, toward the darker part of the club.

There were a few other couples lost in their own world of ecstasy.

Ivory’s heels put her head right at my chin, and I kissed her forehead as we lightly swayed to the music.

She placed her head on my chest; I know she could hear my heart hammering with her so close.

The words to the song were hitting me right in the chest. The songstress seduced us with questions to her lover, wondering if they felt the same way she felt about them.

I need to know if she feels the same way about me.

Ivory is starting to feel something for me, though, I can feel it.

I know this woman better than I know myself.

Maybe it was simply lust, even though my heart craved for love.

Lust was always a good starting point for some people.

We already have a deep love for each other in the form of friendship.

It could be easy to go from lust to love. In all of the romance books that I read, most of the couples start there and end up living happily ever after together.

Tank’s song “F***in Wit Me” came on next and Ivory tried to pull away from me, but I turned her around and bent down slightly to whisper in her ear.

“One more song?” Nuzzling into that tender spot behind her ear, she smelt good as fuck.

Did she spray perfume right here?

“Yes.” It could have been my ears playing tricks on me, but that sounded like a moan.

I’d never heard her moan before, I placed a gentle kiss on that same spot and she shuddered in my arms.

Lust was definitely something, we could work with that.

Ivory rocked her hips into me. I couldn’t even hide my erection, fuck it, she needed to know what she was doing to me.

I placed both hands on her thighs and followed every dip and curve in her captivating body. She rocked into me harder like a woman on a mission to bring me to my knees. I’d gladly bow down right now.

“This skirt is so tiny, Ivory, what were you looking to gain by wearing it? If you aren’t careful, someone could easily slip their hands into that golden treasure of yours.” I placed tiny light kisses down the side of her neck. She tilted to give me more access.

“I-I just wanted to be cute, but if the feeling is right, maybe I would let that happen.” Only one way to find out if the feeling is right.

“Poison Ivy, my love, you are better than cute, mama. You are fucking a catch-22 in this outfit. Are the feelings right now?”

Ivory shook her head yes, I needed her to consent with her words, though. There was no way her first time being touched by a man, especially her best friend, would be confused because I read her wrong.

“Speak up, Ivory, are the feelings right with me?” My words held a deeper meaning, one that I wasn’t sure she picked up on.

“I think they might be, Dj. Am I safe to explore that with you?” Ivory turned around and placed her siren brown eyes on me.

“There’s no safer place for you.”
