HAWG
Ryker gestures out into the distance. “On my say so my guys will take the sentries out. They may hear the shots, so be ready to charge that fucking house. Let’s ride!” he yells to his men.
I’m fucking ready alright. Just the thought of anyone touching or hurting Onyx has my guts all tied up inside.
If someone’s laid a hand on her, they better start praying for redemption right the fuck now.
I don’t know how she’s gotten under my skin, but she has and if anyone touches her they’re going to deal with me.
The ride through the desert takes patience that I don’t fucking have, navigating in and out of the dust, around the cacti, Joshua trees, and tumbleweeds that keep popping up in the wind, threatening to decimate any view we have of the trails in front of us.
We’ve barely gotten close enough to see the sentries on the top of the cliff before they’re taken out by the sawed-off rifles of the Rivalry and the men they’ve brought.
They’ve taken out the men who will sound the alarm otherwise, but now, all I can think about is Onyx with a knife at her throat because some fucks have it in their minds that we’re coming for them and she’s their only way out.
No fucking way I’m letting it play out like this. Not with Onyx in there with the enemy. I accelerate, blowing through the tumbleweeds like I don’t see them at all, straight on the ass of the Rivalries who know this terrain like the back of their hands.
But when more shots come out and two Rivalry sentries go down, I weave in and out, my crew on my ass, my rifle ready to aim, until we take the fucker on the tip of the cliff out.
Gunfire explodes though. More fuckers than we thought but the Rivalry and my crew are taking them out, one, two, three and four.
All the assholes hitting the desert floor.
I lay my bike down hard, race to the crevice, and with some of my crew on my ass, take cover as we get closer to the house.
Ready to take these bastards out one by one and that’s what we do.
As the Scorpions hear the gunfire and commotion outside, they start coming out of the fucking woodwork, but systematically we take them out.
The bodies dropping like flies around me are of no consequence to me. My crew and I push on, working against the rock, getting closer to the house. Every one of the Royal Bastards from the Phoenix Chapter is in sync with the Rivalry, knowing we’re going to take the motherfuckers down.
But not knowing what we’re going to find.
If Onyx is going to be dead or alive, breathing or not and that’s what makes my chest pound with angst as two more Scorpions race out of the house.
I take one out with perfect aim, while Ryker takes another of them out with his sawed-off shotgun that could put a huge-ass hole right through anyone’s motherfucking heart.
They keep coming and we keep taking them out, one or two of ours taking hits, but still able to shoot. We take out every single one of them on the way as we get closer, but we don’t know what lays in wait for us as we walk through that door.
And when we make our way through the chaos and get to the porch, all I can think about is Onyx, what they’ve done to her, and where the fuck she is.
