Chapter 20 The Farewell
The funeral ended and Chu Qingyun stopped me.
I looked at his expression and felt a very ominous premonition.
I thought Chu Qingyun was going to end things with me. After all, he had only started with me to save his mother.
Still, I hoped that even if it was only a little, he liked me. If he did, I would hold him tightly.
But my hope was shattered.
Chu Qingyun lowered his head and said to me, "Let's end this. I'll return the remaining money to you."
It was exactly as I had thought.
He was truly that heartless.
I snorted coldly. "Who cares about that little money? So be it."
He lifted his eyes to look at me. The stubborn fire in his gaze seemed to finally extinguish.
I saw my own face, calm to an unbelievable degree.
I turned and walked away.
I feared that if I stayed I would really grab his collar and question him.
Why didn't he like me? Had he used me up and thrown me away? What exactly was wrong with me?
That would be too humiliating. Others had always chased and begged me.
I had never begged anyone.
What was the big deal?
It was just Chu Qingyun.
