Chapter 21 Haunting Memories

When I returned home alone, the discomfort hit me hard.

Chu Qingyun and I had lived here together for nearly a year.

Every corner carried his shadow and his scent.

I walked to the desk in the bedroom, the one I had added specially for him.

It had not existed before, but because he always needed to study and I could not see him if he went to the study, and because I liked lying on the bed, I had placed a desk in the bedroom.

His notes still lay on it.

His handwriting was elegant. He had always told me to study more.

I opened his notebook and suddenly saw my own name in the middle of messy drafts.

It looked like something he had written absentmindedly when stuck on a problem, followed by a small heart.

My heart suddenly ached.

He was such a bastard.

He did not love me yet he kept seducing me.

I drifted over to the Piano. The sheet music on this page was still unfinished.

He had said he would play it for me once he learned it.

I sat down and finished playing it myself, but it felt meaningless.

I dialed a number at random. "Tell me, what if someone does not like me? What should I do?"

"Who? Someone actually doesn't like you? Smash them with money."

"He does not want money either."

"Then tie him up and lock him in a small dark room. Don't you have an island abroad? Lock him there. Let him go when he likes you. If he never does, keep him locked. How strong can any bones be?"

I narrowed my eyes. "Makes sense."

I hung up cleanly.

"Hello? Hello?" Cheng Yuzhou shouted twice. "No, I was joking. Who is he locking up? Who doesn't like him?"

Gu Jue looked at him like an idiot. "Chu Qingyun, obviously. Can't you tell he likes Chu Qingyun?"

"Likes him? Isn't he just a favored little lover?"

Gu Jue pinched his face. "You can stay blind forever."

"Damn, he can't really lock someone up, right?"

"Who knows. You know how crazy he is."
