Chapter 4 Pushing Every Button

For the next month.

I basically did every annoying thing possible according to those three steps.

When I demanded he swipe his card for me and buy all kinds of luxury items, Shen Zong just smiled.

"Baby, don't worry about it. I make money for you to spend."

When I complained about his skills in bed, Shen Zong pinned me down and went again and again.

"Baby, why are you crying? I'll work harder to make you feel better."

When I sent him eight hundred messages a day and threw tantrums if he didn't reply, Shen Zong lowered his head and kissed my forehead.

"Baby, you don't know how much I love it when you're this clingy."

When I realized the three-step method wasn't working.

I switched tactics.

I deliberately went to the club Shen Zong frequented and ordered a male model.

Just as my hand was about to touch the model's abs, Shen Zong appeared with a cold face and scooped me up in his arms.

That night, he pinned me from the sofa to the bed.

Then from the bed to the bathroom.

While thrusting hard, the man said hoarsely.

"Baby, it must be because I haven't tried hard enough that you looked for someone else."

So for the next few days, Shen Zong proved with his body that I didn't need to find anyone else.

Because I couldn't handle it at all.

One was already too much.

Later, I deliberately stood him up for an important race of his.

Shen Zong ignored me for a whole week.

Just when I thought he would finally break up this time, he came back drunk, hugged me, and cried.

"Baby, I really wanted you to be there to witness such an important moment in my life. Please don't stand me up again."

In that moment, I wavered.

Maybe Shen Zong started chasing me because of the bet.

But during our time together, he had fallen for me.

Otherwise he would have broken up already.

But just as I was about to make things right with Shen Zong.

His family's arranged fiancée, Jiang Sui, showed up.

That was when I learned.

Shen Zong had a childhood betrothal arranged since they were kids.

When I met Jiang Sui at a café, my face burned.

She didn't splash cold water on me like in dramas.

Instead, she calmly explained the deep business and family ties between her family and Shen Zong's.

This betrothal wasn't something that could be canceled just because someone wanted to.

Jiang Sui's meaning was clear.

No matter how much Shen Zong and I loved each other now, the person he would marry in the future was her.

I didn't dare gamble on the slim chance that Shen Zong would go against his family for me.

Besides, he had chased me in the first place because of a bet.

A love between mismatched families and statuses was doomed from the start.

So I could only cut my losses and break up with him.
