Chapter 2 Harmoni
Once Rowdy left, I called a locksmith and had him immediately change my locks.
I didn’t give a damn who paid for this shit; he had me messed up.
I was cooking myself a nice meal when he popped up and startled me.
At first, I smiled, thinking he had ended his trip early to come back home to me, but my excitement quickly turned into anger.
This nigga wanted to kill me behind something a dizzy whore had told him.
More than anything, I was mad at my damn self because I let my big ass mouth tell that man I was pregnant, and it could be his or Jakari’s.
The look on Rowdy’s face was of pure disgust, and I hated for him to look at me that way.
I loved that nigga like I had never loved before although it just had been a short period of time, and this whole situation was killing me.
Recently, I found out the gender of the baby, and I couldn’t even share my excitement with my man.
Up until now, I had planned to keep things a secret until I no longer could.
I didn’t want to go through this alone, but if I had to, I was gon’ do this shit with my chin up.
Any problem in my life lately came solely from Jakari.
He ruined everything for me, and I was so tired of his ass.
How in the fuck did I end up with this good ass man, and Jakari ended up being the nigga he was at war with?
When I say life was just beating my ass, I mean it.
On top of all that, I now suspected Rowdy had fucked Diamond for information or revenge. That thought alone had me sick.
I was supposed to meet Ciara at the spa after I had cooked my lunch, but my argument with Rowdy and having to call a locksmith threw a wrench into those plans.
I ignored Ciara’s calls because I had too much on my mind.
The only thing I wanted to do was soak in my misery and not be bothered.
The rest of my day was spent in bed, crying myself to sleep.
I would wake up from a nap and do it all over again.
The next day, I woke up to over twenty missed calls and ten text messages from Ciara.
I decided that I would call her later. I really didn’t want to talk to anyone; I was still trying to process yesterday’s events.
Unable to draw myself out of bed to even brush my teeth, I told myself I just needed more sleep and to try again later.
As soon as I dozed back off, my ring bell alerted me that I had a visitor.
Then, moments later, I heard beating on my door.
As I looked at my phone, I sighed. Ciara was at my damn door, looking like she was ready to go to war.
She had on a two-piece workout outfit and a baseball cap.
I put my phone on silent and slid it under my pillow, then I put my head under the cover so I could ignore her and possibly go back to sleep.
Before I knew what was going on, I heard noise around my bedroom window, then I felt a breeze come through it.
“Harmoni! Welfare check!” Ciara yelled as she climbed through my window.
“You stupid bitch. It’s a wellness check, and why would you climb through my window like that?” I said in annoyance as I sat up.
“Why is your window unlocked, and why isn’t your alarm set? You’re alive and well, but you not answering my calls or texts, and you stood me up yesterday. Why the fuck do you look like you been crying for days? What’s going on, Moni? I’ve been worried as fuck,” Ciara asked as she rushed to my bed.
I spent an hour crying on her shoulder and telling her everything that happened with Rowdy.
After I spit it all out, I felt relieved, but that instantly turned to regret.
I knew better than to tell her my business; I just really needed to vent about it.
Ciara was a good ass friend, but she had zero tolerance for bullshit, and that often put us in some sticky situations.
“Okay, so where the fuck is he now?” Ciara asked.
“I told you I made him leave, and I changed my locks. I don’t know where he is, nor do I care.”
“I care, though. He was about to push yo’ top back because of something the next hoe told him.
I don’t know what time you on, but that’s unacceptable.
Yo’ word should come before anybody else’s.
He should have asked you what was up before resorting to trying to kill you!
You could have been dead right now. I’m not about to slide that under the rug.
Wash yo’ ass and get dressed. I need to check this shit! ”
“I don’t know where he is, Ciara. Let it go.
I’m sure we’ll work it out eventually. It’s just a lot going on right now.
Look at things from his perspective. He found out I had been with his opp, and he thought he was being set up.
Nobody knew that we were all connected except Diamond.
She’s the one who told him about J and me and clearly added on some lies. ”
“I’m so fucking sick of this bitch! I know I whooped her ass well enough for her to have some kind of sense, but she still doesn’t.
He’s probably somewhere fucking that hoe right now while you laid up crying.
Pull up that 360 app and track his location.
Even if you do forgive him, Harmoni, you need to make sure he knows you are not to be played with and not to ever pull no stunt like that again,” Ciara blurted.
I had forgotten that I snuck and put the app on his phone after our argument with that coach receipt.
I went through his phone while he was asleep, then I installed the app and synced it to my phone.
I knew she was right. What he did was wrong, and I needed him to know that.
I prayed she was wrong about what she’d just said about Rowdy and Diamond fucking each other right now.
Although I thew the idea out there that he could be messing around with her, I would never forgive him if he actually was.
I got myself ready in record time, and we were headed out the door.
Rowdy’s location was really far, so it made me wonder what he was doing.
An hour later, we were at our destination.
It was at a cabin in the middle of nowhere.
My heart instantly started racing because I knew my man was inside with a bitch.
Why else would he be all the way out there, other than for privacy?
I was so fuckin’ mad at the thought of him with Diamond. Steam was probably coming from my ears.
“So, he done took the girl to a cabin after he pulled a gun on you? Okay, bet,” Ciara said as she jumped out of the car before having it fully in park.
I jumped out and tried to catch up with Ciara.
Stress was not good for me, but I just couldn’t seem to avoid it.
Once we made it to the door, she gently tapped on it.
Her ass was pretending to come in peace, but as soon as that door opened, I knew she was going straight into beast mode.
I tapped my leg in anticipation. I didn’t know what I was gonna see on the other side of that door, nor did I know what I would do. Truth be told, I was nervous as hell.
Trell answered the door but opened it just enough for us to see his face.
“What’s up? What are you doing here, Harmoni? Now is really not a good time, and Rowdy is not here,” Trell lied to my face.
“If he ain’t here, what is his car doing right there?” Ciara asked while pointing to Rowdy’s car.
“Trell, tell Rowdy to come here now! You and I ain’t never had no beef, but if you think you about to lie to my face, shit finna get really bad.
You think I don’t know y’all got bitches here?
You can’t even open the door all the way, nor did you invite us in.
They must be scary too, ’cause I know they hear us at this door! ” I screeched.
“Listen, Harmoni and whoever the fuck you are, now is not a good time. I’ll tell Rowdy to call you, but you really need to leave right now,” Trell spoke to Ciara and me in a panic.
Pretending that she was walking away from the door and leaving, Ciara winked at me, then she turned back around and strong-armed her way into the cabin.
Trell was caught off guard, and that allowed us to make our way inside.
We brushed past him, forcing our way in.
When we got inside, I was instantly confused.
Diamond and her son were tied up and duct taped.
Her son looked to be unharmed, but Diamond was beaten up.
I wanted to have sympathy for her, but I really couldn’t.
All I could see was red, regardless of her situation.
“What kind of freaky shit y’all got going on here? Where the fuck is Rowdy? He’s pulling guns on women, and from the look of things, he’s also kidnapping hoes and babies. Where is that nigga?” Ciara yelled.
Once inside, I noticed that in the living room, in the middle of the floor, there was a coach luggage set.
I knew I wasn’t crazy. This nigga had bought that hoe some fuckin’ Coach.
Dimeo had lied to me, knowing damn well that nigga didn’t buy her that weak ass shit.
Everybody was in this shit together, and I was the only one left in the blind.
“Y’all, please leave. This shit is only about the money her baby daddy owes us.
Once he pays his ticket, this all will be over, and he can have they ass back.
This is my last time asking y’all to go.
If you weren’t Rowdy’s girl, I would really have to smoke yo’ ass right now, but I’m begging you to just go.
He went to the shed behind the cabin. Go talk to him, then please leave and take yo’ friend with you.
Forget what you seen here,” Trell barked.
