Chapter 28 #2
A puff of laughter tickled her wet lips. Eris rolled her hips enticingly. “Need some unwinding?”
Denny had to shut her eyes to maintain a semblance of control. It earned her a chuckle.
“Couch?”
“Couch,” Denny breathed, hanging on to what little lucidity left in her.
They tore each other’s clothes off as they clambered to the living room, pausing at every wall and piece of furniture available for the trickiest garments. A couple of plants got knocked down. A frame of pressed flowers crashed to the ground.
When Denny finally collapsed on the couch and Eris straddled her waist, the world narrowed down to where their bodies connected. Denny curled her hands around Eris’ thighs, kneading into the taut muscle as the fire below her navel flared wild.
Eris grabbed the headrest at the sides of Denny’s head, leaning closer. Her hips ground down, damp heat soaking through the thin fabric of the trunks.
Denny couldn’t keep up. She was burning and her mind was blacking out. She wanted, wanted, wanted, consumed by the same heat that she felt between Eris’ legs—so fast she was afraid she might shatter if Eris so much as touched her.
Touch.
She was desperate for it.
Touch.
Friction.
Relief.
Eris.
Eris.
ERIS.
She put a hand on Eris’ chest and neared her lips’ to hers, breath catching in her throat right where her heart was stuck, pumping furiously.
She had never felt so out of control of her own body.
Eris put a hand on top of Denny’s, leaning down to kiss her, soft and languid.
“Talk to me, Sunshine.”
I love you.
I love you so much…
It was so big and powerful a sentiment that Denny feared her flesh was too human to contain it.
She pressed their tangled hands to her heaving chest. It was all there, trapped under her skin, a blazing need she couldn’t handle.
“Do you still want―”
Eris kissed her, a hand laced around Denny’s neck as the other glided downward to her breast.
“Yes,” she whispered, thumb pressing gently against Denny’s pulse. “I want you if you want me.” Another kiss, light, slow, so achingly tender it threatened to destroy the last remnant of Denny’s composure.
But it didn’t. What Eris said next did.
“Just promise me you’re not gaslighting yourself into thinking that you want this just because I―”
“I want this,” Denny cut her off, with more determination than she’d ever shown.
She’d conned herself into doing a regrettable number of things in her life.
For once, she knew what she wanted. Her very soul wanted it―to have Eris as close as it got and wrap herself around her until it hurt. Now more than ever.
“I want you,” she said, blushing at the needy quiver in her voice.
Eris smiled like she’d been given the greatest gift in the world.
She kissed Denny’s forehead, her cheek, her jaw, her lips.
She guided Denny to lie down, thighs still bracketing her hips as she sat back to admire the view.
Denny wasn’t used to this―being in a vulnerable position, being the object of that kind of admiration.
Eris bent down, long dark hair falling at her sides, tickling Denny’s belly.
“You call the shots, yeah?” she murmured in a husky tone that went straight to Denny’s pulsing core. “Stop me if you’re uncomfortable.”
Denny was still nodding when Eris’ mouth closing upon her nipple wrung an embarrassingly undignified sound out of her.
She was shocked by how sensitive she was.
The gentle suction turned eager, teeth scraping over the flesh in between a swirl of tongue and the next.
Denny cupped a hand behind Eris’ head in silent praise.
It followed as the ministrations moved south, mapping every dip and hollow, every mole, tracing the contour of Denny’s abs down to the navel.
A violent shiver coursed through Denny when Eris tugged at her knickers.
Without waiting for the question that she knew was coming, Denny lifted her hips so that Eris could remove them, her eyes, deep pools of devotion, never leaving Denny’s, as if afraid to miss something if she dared to look away.
She nudged Denny’s knees apart. When her lips touched the inside of Denny’s knee, it was so light that it was barely tangible. Eris was locked in, scouting Denny’s face for any glimpse of hesitation, the slightest reaction.
All Denny could do was reach up and stroke her cheek.
Eris leaned into it, looking like she was one blink away from shattering herself.
She pressed her lips to the inside of Denny’s wrist, then inched back, settling between Denny’s legs.
Nudging them farther apart, she kissed her way down from the knee, achingly close to where the arousal was building in a haunting throb.
Denny’s frustration peaked in a groan, which turned into a gasp when a light touch brushed between her legs.
She bucked her hips to chase the friction.
Eris adjusted the angle accordingly and a jolt of electricity spiked across Denny’s body.
Following her moan, the motion turned into slow, calculated circles around the clit that had Denny see stars. She’d never been touched this gently.
She stilled when a finger nudged at her entrance.
Her eyes closed as it pushed in. She waited for it, the magical shock that was supposed to happen at that point, when Eris started stroking her walls, moving with evident expertise.
But all Denny could feel was an intrusion, the discomfort of building pressure without the sparks all the girls she’d been with had waxed on about.
“Denny.”
Her eyes flustered open. Eris’ face hovered above her with a stern frown. The unpleasant pressure was gone.
“You promised.”
“I—”
“You weren’t enjoying it.”
Denny wanted to find something uncompromising to say, but her fumbling spoke for her. What was the point in lying, anyway? Eris had already figured her out.
“I can tell when someone doesn’t like what I’m doing. You got unresponsive after I—”
“I wanted to like it,” she blurted. She wanted to like it so badly, because it came from Eris, and nothing Eris gave her could be bad, but… “I thought I could—”
“Make yourself like it?” Eris bent down to steal a languid kiss. “Been there. Doesn’t get you anywhere.” She rolled her eyes at Denny’s scepticality. “Sunshine. I don’t want you to feed my ego, I want you to feel good.”
“I felt amazing… before.”
Eris dropped another kiss to Dennys’ lips, deeper, more urgent than the first. “I’ve got you.” The kiss trailed downward. Eris paused to suck on those spots that she knew were most sensitive: right below the ear, the crook of the neck, the top of the shoulder. And kept going down.
“Stop thinking about enjoying it.” A hot breath tickled her abs. “Just feel.”
When Eris’ tongue traced the contour of her navel, Denny arched off the couch, feeling it much lower than that.
Eris wrapped an arm around Denny’s thigh and pushed it up to the side.
Denny could feel herself spread open for her.
Blue eyes, darker than ever, gazed up at her, waiting for a sign of uneasiness that never came.
Reassured, Eris pressed her lips to the V line of the hipbone and kept going, teasing the hypersensitive skin of the hollow at the apex of the thigh, almost there, but not quite.
Denny knew she was moaning. She didn’t know how loudly or how pathetically, and didn’t even care. In a heartbeat her voice was lost in a strangled cry as Eris’ mouth moved exactly where she needed it.
The sudden heat sent a violent shudder of pleasure across her body.
A maddening flicker of tongue over her clit was the only warning she had.
Then Eris started sucking, and Denny gave up any dignity she still possessed.
Denny’s hands tangled in Eris’ hair in blind urgency. The vibration of a chuckle clipped her breath for a second, the pleasure flaring and quickly receding as Eris’ endeavours relented, prying Denny away from the climax she’d almost touched.
Eris wasn’t doing anything different from every girl before her, but, in her ecstatic delirium, Denny was nebulously aware of one thing: Eris wasn’t rushing it.
She was as studious and analytical with intimacy as she was with everything else: she tested, observed, recalibrated when she couldn’t obtain the reaction she was aiming for and, when she achieved it, strived to get more.
“Eris… Oh god!”
Denny’s nails dug into Eris’ scalp. She was too far gone to be embarrassed about the sounds she was making.
There was a pause. A gentle nip picked at the bone of her inner thigh.
“You’d better not be faking this, Sunshine.”
