Chapter 30
Atlee
“Do you get the feeling that we’ve done something…unforgiveable?” Half the street was out on their porches as we drove toward the house and most of them were glaring at us.
Casimir nearly giggled.
“What did you do?” What had I missed? “They’re pissed.”
He’d nearly stopped snickering by the time he parked in his driveway but he had to work at smoothing out his expression as he turned off the car.
“Someone keeps putting those cheap little GPS trackers on the car. Every time I find one, I’ve been putting it on random vehicles like the guy who cut me off and then had the nerve to scream at me in the Walmart parking lot the other day. ”
As he mumbled something about assholes getting what they deserved, I groaned. “I don’t think that’s legal.”
He shrugged. “Neither is tracking my car or threatening me because someone else can’t drive.”
He was definitely going to get arrested.
Mentally shifting around my emergency fund and savings to make sure we had enough for a good lawyer, I nodded slowly. “I can see your point.”
And why the neighbors were angry.
“How many of those have you…disposed of?” I told myself I was prepared for any answer but his wicked grin made me question that.
“A dozen.” My brain stopped but that didn’t stop his diabolical mind.
“Ten that were cheap and I really think made in China and two that were expensive. I gave one of those to the PI guy on my lunch break and the other is being taken to South America by a pothead on what he’s calling the road trip of a lifetime. ”
Was that safe?
“I…” Where should I start with that? “I’m assuming you got permission from the…the pothead?”
Was that something they checked for at the border?
“Yes.” Still looking confusingly cheerful, Casimir leaned over and gave me a quick peck. “I’m thinking the expensive ones were your family and the TEMU ones are from the neighbors. Oh, but you have to pretend you don’t know about them, so if someone asks just look confused and ask if they’re okay.”
No.
None of them were okay so that would be easy.
That seemed to be what Casimir liked best about all of them, though.
“I can do that.” Then I’d distract them and chase them off by asking about their tax bracket or if they’ve fixed their 401k situation. “What are we going to do now?”
I wasn’t prepared for his answer but I should’ve been.
“Wave.” Nearly bouncing out of the car, Casimir was grinning ear to ear as he waved at the neighbors like he was a celebrity. “Good evening.”
He was a constant surprise.
So I just pretended it was normal and slowly climbed out of the car to follow my adorably strange boyfriend into the house. My Dom made much better decisions. I’d see him shortly, though, so I enjoyed the crazy as we went inside.
I couldn’t manage the wave, so I ignored everything. At the very least, I thought that would make it easier to play stupid later, so it wasn’t the coward’s way out of crazy.
Thankfully, Casimir had shifted from playful fuckery to playful Dom as we went inside because he aimed all that sexy chaos at me as he closed the door and leaned back against it. “Have I told you how good you looked tonight?”
As I nodded, he stroked my tie and used it to pull me closer. He barely let me brush against his body but he was incredible and it was enough to slow my brain slightly into a hazy buzz. “Yes, Sir. But have I told you how much I loved our date tonight?”
A tender smile peeked out before it was gone, shifting into something flirty and teasing. “You did and I loved hearing how much fun you had. That puppy side peeked out several times.”
Ignoring how my face was heating up, I shook my head and told myself I looked confused, not embarrassed. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I was just being a polite boyfriend.”
One eyebrow went up.
He didn’t even pretend to believe my nonsense. “Oh, really? You were nearly wagging your tail, baby.”
I didn’t have the imagination for that kind of play but he loved the way talking about it made me squirm. “I…I just wanted to make sure you knew I was enjoying myself.”
It’d never occurred to me to tell him that I wanted to go because it seemed like most people I knew didn’t like the theater.
Everyone said it was old-fashioned or just something they did to look good for clients.
Unfortunately, it seemed to be the only positive trait I’d gotten from my parents but asking them to go meant having to spend time with them.
I wasn’t into that kind of torture.
“Oh…” Casimir shook his head, giving me a look like I’d been naughty. “I knew how excited my cute pup was.”
No…
I managed not to whine but I lost the battle on squirming. “I’m your boy.”
Frowning, he slowly stroked my tie, sending a shiver through me because my body didn’t understand he wasn’t jerking me off. “But you were so wiggly and excited. I could almost see your tail going back and forth.”
Technically I knew he wouldn’t get that kind of gear for me, but he sounded so serious about it. Holding on to reality was getting harder. Something about the conversation made me stupid. He had a lot of ways he did that.
Master was very creative.
“You…you make me happy but…but I’m just your sub.
” It might’ve made me a terrible person to admit, but I was kind of glad I was on the boring end of submission.
Wanting something harder to understand might’ve pushed me into that freak-out Casimir had been asking about earlier.
“I’m your boy…but…but just the regular kind. ”
Yes.
I liked easy to understand things like kneeling and being caged and being used.
Those made sense just like the way Master moaned softly before kissing my lips and smiling made sense. He loved it when I got embarrassed and stupid, and we both knew it. “I like that you’re my boy and you submit so perfectly for me.”
Perfect.
I did it right.
“You…you like making me squirm, though.” His wicked chuckle went right to my cock and I found myself rocking against him that time. “You…you make me stupid too.”
“No, baby.” Master gripped me tighter and pulled me closer against him to keep me from moving. “I make you submissive and loving, and you give me all your trust. That’s beautiful because you know you don’t have to think with me.”
Something settled in me, giving me that concrete feel I’d explained earlier. “I think about you, but…but it makes you happy when my brain goes quiet.”
Master liked that wording better than when I said stupid.
Quiet was respectful of his sub.
He purred out a pleased sound and turned his head to kiss my neck. “It does and I was…thrilled doesn’t even begin to describe it when you gave me everything I wanted. You never told me I was too bossy or too annoying. You didn’t tell me that I’d be a better date if I was sweeter.”
Sweeter?
“You’re…” Distracting. Master was distracting when his teeth found my ear. It was important to find the words, though. “You’re always sweet to me. Other…other people must not know what that word means. We’re…we’re sweet together.”
He didn’t scream at me or tell me how badly I handled conversations.
He always explained what he wanted and he picked out what restaurant would make him happy.
Casimir was sweet in the most amazing ways.
“You remind me to eat lunch by texting me and pretending it was random.” His soft laugh said he knew it’d taken me too long to figure out what he’d been doing. “You’re always there for me at the end of the day, especially when it’s been frustrating.”
Just the way he was always there for me was sweet.
“You…” Teeth…teeth were so good. What had I been going to say? “You let me take care of you even when you’d rather do all the work.”
He shouldn’t be doing all the work, but he didn’t always understand that.
Still, he found ways to let me take care of him too.
“You’re the sweetest person I’ve ever met.” I’d make sure he remembered that, like he helped me to remember submitting wasn’t something that made me annoying or useless. “You just…you just needed the right person to balance you out.”
Me.
He’d needed me.
Maybe that was the reason I hadn’t freaked out?
Master’s sigh that time was low and tender as he released my tie and wrapped one arm around my neck. “I thought you were going to be the craziest bad decision I’d ever made when you walked in the door and asked me to date you.”
That felt like a lifetime ago.
“I…” Words were harder to organize but I closed my eyes and focused on his breath against my neck as I tried to get my thoughts out. “I told myself it was a ridiculous request and it was terrible logic, but as I sat down in the living room for the first time, you…you made everything make sense.”
Straightening, Master brushed his lips against mine again as his fingers barely caressed the back of my head. “Because I’m the best bad decision you ever made, baby.”
I wanted to tell him how amazing he was, but all I could do was wrap myself around him and bury my face in his neck. Master hummed softly and wrapped both arms around me. hugging me tight again. “Giving yourself to me is going to end up being the best decision you ever made, baby.”
He snuggled me closer, kissing the side of my head. “I promise. I know this wasn’t what you expected when you asked me for help, but I’m going to take care of you and keep you safe and I’m going to show you every day how special you are…and that you belong to me.”
I tried swallowing past the lump in my throat, but it wasn’t budging, so I had to just nod. He knew what I couldn’t say, though. Master always knew because that was just who he was. So I hugged him tighter that time, trying to show him how special he was to me.
“Even when you’re not here with me, I’m going to make sure you can’t forget who you belong to.” Kissing me again, I could hear the shift in his tone. “And I know exactly how I’m going to do it. Let me show you, baby.”
Taking another deep breath, I nodded and straightened. The lump was still there but I could swallow around it again. “Yes, Master.”
He was going to show me.
