Chapter 4 Ending the Call

After three cigarettes, I finally pulled my emotions together somewhat.

Being five years older than Lu Huaichuan, I had always tried to arm myself as invincible and solve problems for him while bearing all difficulties alone.

So since breaking up troubled him for so long, I would personally help him solve it.

This was my last gentleness to my lover.

I took out my phone and dialed for the third time.

This time, Lu Huaichuan finally picked up, but his tone was very impatient.

"I told you I'm in a group meeting..."

I interrupted him softly. "Lu Huaichuan, let's break up."

Lu Huaichuan paused, then sneered.

"Zhou Chengting, when did you start playing these crying, fussing, and breakup games?"

"I don't know what's wrong with you today, but I'm busy and have no mood to coax you."

My voice trembled from the cold. "Lu Huaichuan, this is... my well-thought decision."

"From now on, you're free."

Lu Huaichuan was silent for a while, then raised his voice. "Fine, you proposed the breakup. Don't regret it."

I thought he would at least try to keep me.

I sighed helplessly. "Okay."

"The things you left at my place..."

Before I finished, he hung up.

I stared at the phone in my hand. He hadn't let me finish even one extra sentence.

Originally, we had some assets to divide, but forget it.

Let the lawyer contact him later. He wouldn't lose out anyway.

I raised my hand to check the time. I had waited downstairs for Lu Huaichuan for four hours.

The snow gradually stopped. I thought it was time for me to go.
