Chapter 35

AMIRA

Now

Everyone I know, including myself have been fascinated and invested in Ed Nash, lead singer of indie rock group The Mountaineers and his search for his muse Evie Del Rio, #thegirlinthesong who inspired the iconic indie love song “Used to Be” and indeed all the songs on The Mountaineers debut album Past Times.

I use the usual TikTok trick by repeating what people know already to hook more viewers in, being careful enough not to give my audience too much waffle and padding, knowing how impatient viewers become waiting for a big reveal and for me to reveal something they don’t know.

As you know I managed to narrow down some possibilities of women who matched Evie’s profile and demographic, one of those being Genie McNamara from West London.

I now have it on good authority that Genie McNamara was in fact formerly known as Evie Del Rio and did leave London unexpectedly in the mid 1980s, never to be heard of again – until now.

I can also confirm that Evie Del Rio did leave her London home due to getting pregnant with Ed Nash’s baby, as per all the recent rumours.I ramp up the tension as “Used to Be” plays softly in the background.

Evie and her family left London as soon as they knew that she was pregnant, and she went to live with her aunt in Bournemouth to see the pregnancy out in secret.

Evie, along with her aunt and her mother were frequent visitors to St Joseph’s Catholic Church and she would often be seen helping to keep the church clean during and after her pregnancy.

She became very close to another young girl who always attended the church services.

Her name was Emma Hadfield my source has revealed.

Evie gave birth to a daughter and was forced to give her away to a now defunct Catholic Adoption Service.

The baby was apparently adopted by a local childless couple who used to attend St Joseph’s.

Emma Hadfield somehow helped Evie Del Rio leave Bournemouth, and I have been told that she ran away from her aunt’s home in Bournemouth and was last heard of travelling to Brighton.

I would like to point out that I will under no circumstances reveal my source of this information, but I do categorically deny that Emma Hadfield is my contact and has had nothing to do with this latest revelation.

I hope that Ed and Evie are watching my TikTok today and perhaps they can now talk to each other and be reunited with their daughter?

Perhaps you were adopted and are in your early thirties?

You could be the daughter of the woman who inspired one of today’s most iconic indie love songs and the man who wrote such heartfelt lyrics.

Reach out if you think you are the daughter of #thegirlinthesong

I’m Amira Malik. Take care until next time, when I’ll be revealing some further information from someone very close to Ed Nash!

I’ve managed to track down Ed’s uncle, Paul Nash, who has promised to reveal all about Ed’s druggy past. And all for the price of a few beers! My followers are going to go wild with these new revelations and my TikTok popularity will continue to take the world by storm!
