Chapter 9

When the next day came, we prepared to take our leave. Our plan was simple. Track my parents, save them from being held as hostage, go home and live happily ever after.

But a certain person had to ruin it.

The most important thing right now is to find my parents and save them. But it's way easier said than done.

Hours, days and weeks have passed. We have been searching the forest everyday to find traces, even smallest one. They are almost on the verge of giving up but a thought came to me.

Yes, they're now our Aunts and Uncles. They said it themselves that it's fine if we call them that. Sir and Miss sounds too formal, but Millie is really stubborn so she said to call her Madam.

It has been a day ever since Aunt walked out on us.

She hasn't talked to us regularly like always but she strikes up some conversations sometimes.

Promise.

She then closed the door and we headed our way into the forest where we'll meet the others.

We found all of them waiting for us while they are preparing their things. They didn't see us at first so we gathered their attention.

He was wearing all black, well, all of us are. It's what I call the perfect camouflage for tonight.

I'm desperate to find them. It's been a month since they've gone missing and I'm starting to think of the worse.

We all went south of the forest. Damien and Millie were up front.

Aria and Tina were behind them. Ronald and Cora were behind us, then beside Millie is Annie. Aunty Lia was beside us.

Hope nothing goes wrong.

Tobias was leading us the way. The forest is a scary place at night but if you look at it from a different angle, it's not so bad as you think it is.

I heard a noise from behind so I suddenly turned my head facing behind. I just did a whole 360 right there. Everyone stopped at my movements, wondering something was wrong.

We continued our journey into the forest. Millie has been complaining a lot about the mud and the mosquitoes.

I feel bad for the mosquitoes, honestly.

For what seems like hours of walking, we got tired, well some of us did, specifically Millie and Annie and Kris.

I wasn't tired, not yet but I am bored. I am aching to find any clues and it would put us in peace if we find something related to my parents.

Tobias told us to rest first before continuing. We took our rest with trees, leaning my back on the tree, I sighed.

There she goes again with that nickname.

She just nodded and smiled. She then closed her eyes for a brief moment.

She just glared at me and looked away. She closed her eyes and clenched both her fist. Well, someone is angry.

Kate: 2, Millie: 0.
