Chapter 40

I asked him to sit down, he obliged and sat on his chair behind the desk, while I sat in front of it.

If he knew about supernaturals, it's only common for me to not push it further unless I want to create something that won't be good for both sides.

Whenever they meet, whenever he talks to her or anyone in the family, his voice was never loud or he was never shouting. He was always calm and composed, that's why Aunt fell in love with him.

He said he saw Aunt once and thought she had this kind of attractiveness to her. They've never crossed paths again but he was shocked to see her in his school, one of the transferees.

My Aunt was known to be quiet and mysterious, she never opened her mouth unless she's being asked a question or she has something to say that's important.

My Aunt told me that Uncle stood out from everyone. She made the first move and my Uncle dated her because he said she was too beautiful to ignore.

What changed?

Uncle and the soldiers left, leaving the stuff I listed down. My Uncle had a hard time parting from me but I told him I was gonna be okay.

We also discussed about the mission he wants me to do, it turns out that he wanted me to be in charge of it because he doesn't trust anyone else.

He knew it was connected to supernaturals, but I wonder why me when I didn't even know about them until I got here.

He tried to leave men with me, I declined and told him I can take care of myself when I'm alone. He agreed but still didn't stop worrying.

He dropped off the guns, bombs and a goddamn tank, even I didn't put it in the list.

I got M4A1, of course that wouldn't be left out. I love that gun but I have a particular gun that I always use when I'm on duty.

Uncle also added the Remington R4s, I don't particularly like them because they're small for me, AK 47 is included in the list, so is SIG Sauer M17 and M18, Glock 19 and a lot of the big guns.

Of course he'd leave the C4, the man is too prideful. I mentally slapped my forehead when I laid eyes on the explosive. What could I possibly do with it? I don't know.

But I'm thankful for the tank, I know how we'll use it but I just gotta make sure they won't aim for it. The tank is seriously heavy and two people handles it.

Though I would find out if it's two or six people when I check it out later.

Uncle also left sniper rifles, perfect. Our advantage to win has just risen.

Though pretty sure, everything is found in the internet today, but I found all of it through training.

"Mark my words," my trainer said, "you can dodge a bullet, if you think it's slow then it is, if you think it's fast then it is.

The trick is, don't think, just move out of the way.

" I remember it til' now because it's the reason why I'm still alive and why I can possibly dodge a bullet coming my way.

Our primary instincts in the military are to hunt and survive. We are the prey if we believe we are weak. But, if we viewed ourselves as a resilient and self-reliant individual, we would be the predator. The instinct of a predator is to hunt in order to survive.

He stared in front of him for a moment, his face contorted then recovered, then frowned again. He was thinking of something and it looks complicated.

The King and Queen called us to their war room. When we got in, a lot of people were already inside, arguing about what to do when the war happens.

They must be high ranks in packs, maybe they're Alphas in their packs and is attending this meeting to take part in the plan. They must be the packs willing to fight alongside the kingdom.

But we're talking about supernatural war here, once the shapeshifters eliminates every werewolf in the kingdom, it's game over for the other supernaturals.

It took a moment before someone answered. It's as if nobody wanted to answer my question. They weren't obliged to answer it. I'm still a nobody.

He somehow looked familiar but I can't remember when or where I've seen him. I gave a grateful nod, thinking that at least someone had been polite enough to respond to the query.

I am aware that being a ruler of a nation requires great strength, yet a leader displaying weakness should not be manipulated. Simply put, it indicates how much the ruler has endured.

In order to lead a nation, they stand tall, ignoring all of the agony and suffering they have gone through.

As if he knew I was expecting him to answer, he spoke with a firm smile on his face. "We have more than the shapeshifters have, but some of those werewolves don't know how to defend theirselves."

I thought of a way while I chewed my lower lip. The shapeshifters have a higher chance of winning if our warriors aren't completely trained since the reality is that while we do have people to fight for the kingdom, those people lack the skills and understanding necessary to protect a kingdom.

I though about it. If we were to stay indoors, I'd think they would feel closed off, it's better to train in open spaces than in closed ones.

But the werewolves in Mystic Heart reminded me of indoor trainings. Sure, it was open and all but it was still indoors, it was only considered open because of the huge hole at the roof.

Changing my mind, I looked at Kyle and spoke. "Wait, I'll take both, the werewolves I've trained in Mystic Heart trains in the ballroom and everyone else goes to the garden."

It was my turn to roll my eyes. Holding a gun is no joke, you could hurt yourself just by firing it. "Yeah, and I know how to shoot one."

I gave him one last warning glare before I got up and turned to leave. I excused myself from everyone and went towards the door.

I said, pointing an accusing finger at him. What's more dangerous in this world is something that could explode, literally.

I felt a hand snake around my pulse, stopping me from my tracks. Sparks exploded from my wrist to all over my body.

My heart started to beat faster by the second, the aura behind me was much more powerful, dark and brooding. I know one person who makes me feel that way.

I could hear him breathing, he was close but far enough for personal space, he didn't speak, he just held my wrist and waited.

I didn't turn around, trying to ignore what I'm feeling and hoped this would be over soon. I might be attracted to the guy but I still hate him for what he did.

I rubbed my forehead in annoyance. "I am not very fond of the word please.

If you would excuse me, I have a problem to solve and werewolves to train.

I need to prepare so if you could please," I tried to shake his hand off, my wrist was starting to hurt from his hold.

I examined him, he was not moving, he was just looking at me with something in his eyes that I couldn't identify.

"I'm tired of your lies and nonsense.

I could've returned to your pack without struggle if you asked me nicely and you wouldn't lose a warrior.

What kind of an Alpha are you anyway?"

He didn't retort, he just stared at me and spoke, loud enough for me to hear and soft enough for me to not take him as a threat.

"Cause you're a pussy." I wanted to say but I held it in. I wasn't gonna call him that if he knows it himself. It's not something that can be fixed within a day or two.

It takes more time to recover and hold yourself up properly again.

I gasped, shocked by the sudden loss of balance as he pulls me close to him. His breath fans my face as he looks at me in the eye.

His face is close to mine, our nose would touch if we were to move even a bit. My eyes widened at the closeness, still haven't recovered from his pull.

His arms circled around my waist, holding me in place. My eyes solely on him as he examines my face.

I tried to struggle, putting my hands on his chest and pushed him off but to no avail. His hold on me was firm and tight, though I think he's still holding back.

He raised his one hand, brushing away the lose strand of my hair, putting it behind my ear. I was breathless, this man is acting as if I didn't insult him a while ago.

His eyes were a deep shade of gray, looking at it up close, it has shades of gold and blue, it's mesmerizing. His eyes captivated my own the longer I look at it.

The tension between us can be felt in the air, he leans closer, our nose touching. My breath hitched, I didn't know what to do.

My hurt thumps, pumping blood all over my body. I breathed in to try and relax but that only made my lips touch his own. My eyes widened, shocked by my foolish behavior.

And his hold for himself snapped. He suddenly pulled me with strong force, our lips finally touching more intimately. I stumbled into him, my eyes in saucers as he kisses me passionately.

It took me a moment before I returned the kiss. My lips moving with his. His lips were so soft and sweet, my hands sweat in nervousness.

He bit my bottom lip with his teeth, earning a slight moan from me. I didn't know why he did that but he took that as a chance to slip his tongue inside my mouth.

It was ecstasy, my mind was thinking of nothing but the kiss. My heart exploded inside me as he deepens the kiss. A growl emitted from him as he kisses me deeply.

I struggled to breathe, I tapped him slightly and he parts, our lips inches from one another as I tried to intake air as much as I can.

He chuckles at me, followed by a kiss on my cheek. He let's go of me and walks away, leaving me dumbfounded and in a trance at the center of the hall.

What the hell did I just do?
