The line between us

Author's pov-

The next morning, Divya was still replaying last evening's conversation with purv in her head.

"Do you believe that?"

His words lingered, as if he actually cared about her answer.

Shaking off the thoughts, she headed to her first lecture. As she settled into her seat, kaashi plopped down beside her, nudging her with an eager grin.

"You won't believe what I heard," she whispered excitedly.

Divya sighed. "Do I want to know?"

Kaashi ignored her reluctance. "Charvi was furious last night. Apparently, purv left the college without telling her, and now she's going around saying he's been acting different lately."

Divya stiffened. "So?"

Kaashi wiggled her brows. "So, I think it has something to do with you."

Divya scoffed. "That's ridiculous."

Kaashi shrugged. "Maybe. But if looks could kill, charvi would have buried you ten times over."

Divya groaned, resting her forehead on her desk. "This is exactly why I didn't want to get involved in any of this."

Before kaashi could respond, the professor walked in, signalling the start of the lecture.

After class, Divya was gathering things when Aditya appeared beside her.

"You free for lunch?" He asked casually.

She hesitated. "Uh.. sure, I guess."

They made their way to the canteen, but as soon as they stepped inside, Divya's stomach twisted.

Purv was there.

He sat at the same table as always, his usual cold expression in place, but his gaze flickered toward her the second she walked in.

Charvi was beside him, talking animatedly, but purv looked completely uninterested. In fact, the moment he saw Divya with Aditya, something in his expression shifted-something unreadable.

She swallowed hard and turned her attention back to Aditya, forcing herself to ignore the weight of purv's gaze.

But as they sat down, she couldn't help but sneak another glance.

And that's when she saw it.

Purv wasn't looking at her anymore-he was looking at Aditya.

And he did not look pleased.
