Chapter 28 Milton

Milton

My phone chimed as I opened Hazel’s car door. She climbed out, and I followed her inside, stopping at the base of the stairs when I read Avery’s text.

“Fuck,” I muttered under my breath.

Hazel frowned, looking between me and my phone. “Is everything okay?”

I pushed my brows together, reading through the text again. “Lexie was arrested for assault and battery. They’re all down at the police station with her now.”

“Oh my God!” Her eyes bulged as she sucked in a breath. “Devan’s pressing charges?”

“Looks like it. I mean, I’m pretty sure she broke his nose.” My mouth tipped upward.

Hazel playfully smacked my arm. “This is serious! Your bandmate just got arrested because of me!”

“No, she got arrested for clocking an abusive asshole in the face. And I’m sure she’d do it again if she could.” I lifted my shoulders.

She ran her hands through her hair, vexed at the news, and then examined my face. “Do you want to go down there? I mean, he hit you first. You could press charges too. Maybe even see if you can argue that Lexie was defending you.”

I chuckled. “Yeah, I’m sure they’d look between her and me and have a good laugh if I told them that. No, Sunshine. I’m not interested in reporting a little hit like this. An eye for an eye isn’t really my thing.”

“But what about Lexie? I feel awful.”

I snorted. “Don’t worry about her. She’ll probably frame her mug shot to put up in her place.”

She looked at me for a moment, her face still pinched with worry. “Okay, well, you should at least put some ice on your face.”

She walked away. I heard her rustling in the freezer before she returned with a bag of corn.

“I’m really fine, baby. I don’t even feel it anymore.”

Ignoring me, she stretched up on her toes and placed the cold bag over the dull ache on my cheek.

My hand gripped her waist, holding on to her while she cared for me. “You were brave today. You know that?” I said, smiling down at her.

Her gaze moved to mine, and she swallowed. “I didn’t feel brave.”

“Well, you were.” I cupped her face, running my thumb along her cheek. “After all the hurt that man had caused, you still faced him today.”

“Yeah, from your car,” she replied, her head dipping.

“You were still there.” I planted a kiss on her forehead. “You faced your fears.”

Her gaze drifted for a moment, and then she shook her head. “I hated how he looked at me.” She wiped her hands along her arms, like she couldn’t shake the feeling he’d left behind.

“Come with me.” I threaded my hand in hers and started upstairs.

Hazel did as I’d asked, following me to the master bathroom.

I turned on the shower, testing the temperature of the water before I took my shirt off.

Hazel stood, watching.

I reached for the hem of the blue T-shirt she’d borrowed from me, untying the knot she’d fastened in the front, and lifted it over her head. She stepped out of her jeans as I removed mine.

My chest swelled with her presence. The woman standing in front of me, my sweet green-eyed Sunshine, was mine to keep. I could stare at her forever, as long as she’d let me.

Leading her under the hot water with me, I pulled her close, lathering up some soap on a rag. “Let me wash him away,” I said.

Her green eyes softened at my words, and then she gave me a nod, watching my hands roam from one fingertip, up her shoulder, over her breasts, and to the other side. Closing her eyes, she turned so I could get her back next, and I rubbed circles across her shoulders and down her spine.

My growing erection hit her ass, and she arched her back into me. I moaned and made sure she felt it as I covered her back with my chest.

Twisting her head up to kiss me, I slid my hand behind her neck, pulling her into me and claiming her mouth like it had never been touched by another man.

Never been touched by him. I wanted to erase every mark he’d left on her.

Every painful memory. Every instinct that made her freeze in fear. I wanted to wash it all away.

I dropped onto my knees and ran the towel from the top of her manicured foot, up to the curve of her hip, gently scrubbing every inch of her. My eyes flicked up from her waist, circling the suds along her stomach, as her hand pushed strands of wet hair from my forehead.

She parted her lips, and her gaze heated. I noticed her chest rising heavier. Her nipples hardening.

My hand moved down between her legs, washing the soft skin of her inner thighs, until I reached where her legs split.

Her hand gripped my head tighter, twisting in my hair like she was applying shampoo.

I let the towel drop from my hand, letting the water dripping over her shoulders fall down her abdomen and wash away the suds before my fingers rubbed her bare pussy, coating them with her arousal.

She braced herself on the wall behind her, soft whimpers leaving her lips from my touch. She sucked a finger into her mouth, pulling one leg to the side to open herself wider for me.

“Fuck,” I growled at the image.

Water drops ran down my face, over my smile as I looked up at her, drinking in the sight of her perfect, wet body on display.

Bringing the tips of my fingers of a flattened hand to my chin, I pulled them back to connect with the other hand. Then reached up and brushed my thumb along the bottom of my cheek.

“Good girl.”

Surprise flickered across her face after I signed up to her from my knees, worshiping her.

I smirked and covered her clit with my mouth, sucking and swirling my tongue while I curled two fingers inside of her.

Her head dropped back in a gasp. Her hands sprawled, knocking over the bottles of liquid from the shelf. Eventually, her hands found my shoulders, sliding over the tops of them, digging her nails in as I pinched her clit between my tongue and teeth.

I licked and sucked and lapped at her sweet center until her body shook and her limbs went weak.

Then, drying her off, I cradled her in my arms and carried her to bed, making her come twice more on my cock.
