Chapter 4 Threats on Repeat
Lin Weiwei clung to life with that unbreakable female lead halo.
Concussion. Multiple fractures all over her body.
No brain bleed. No ruptured organs. Even the broken ribs somehow missed everything vital.
Three months in the hospital. Bedridden.
“It hurts so much!! Gege!! What happened? How did I end up like this? Who did this to me? Gege!”
“My face! My face! It hurts!” Lin Weiwei cared about nothing but her perfect face. She tried to touch it but couldn’t move.
“Dad! Mom! Was it Sister? If Sister really hates me that much, just let me go. I don’t want to die!”
Even half-dead, she still found the energy to frame me. Twenty years of premium green tea.
Her screams and sobs woke up the old terror in the three Lin idiots.
They wanted to comfort their precious treasure, but the sight of her wrapped up like a mummy froze them in place. They were terrified she’d suddenly bolt upright and drag the whole family down the stairs again.
So it had to be me. I stepped forward under all that pressure and comforted her. This family would fall apart without me.
“Weiwei, it’s okay. Sister’s here. You have to hold on. We still have a long road ahead.”
I couldn’t laugh. I was professionally trained not to laugh. Unless I couldn’t hold it in.
Right now, Lin Weiwei was my little pet. My favorite toy. The crazier she got, the more I loved it.
The moment she saw me, she snapped. The innocent white lotus mask shattered completely.
“Chen Wan! Why are you here? Why are you still here? It was you! It had to be you! You did this to me!”
“Dad, Mom—it was Chen Wan! She pushed me down the stairs! She did this to me. Get rid of her!”
“Gege! Gege! You have to help me! Chen Wan attacked me—don’t let her get away with it!”
“Weiwei, that’s not fair. You jumped down the stairs yourself. Dad and Mom both saw it.” I put on my best wronged expression.
“I wanted to stop you, I really did, but I was scared. Even Dad, Mom, and Brother—all three of them couldn’t hold you back. How could I?”
Dad and Mom’s faces filled with lingering fear.
Lin Kai came back to life at her cries of “Gege.” All his terror vanished. His precious sister needed him.
“Chen Wan! Did you hurt Weiwei? You must have done something dirty to her! I’m warning you—if anything happens to her, I won’t let you go!”
“I didn’t do anything. Ask the doctor if you want to know what happened.” I grabbed the doctor and pulled him in front as a shield.
Lin Kai charged like a mad bull. His hands clamped down on the doctor’s shoulders.
“I command you to cure her right now.”
The doctor winced in pain. “Family member, please calm down. The patient’s condition is serious, but we’ll do everything we can.”
“If you can’t cure her, you’ll all be buried with her.”
I silently commanded the Plot Replay System to replay it 99 times.
“I command you to cure her right now.”
“If you can’t cure her, you’ll all be buried with her.”
The doctor tried to push him away, shoulders already bruising.
“I command you to cure her right now.”
“If you can’t cure her, you’ll all be buried with her.”
He wouldn’t stop. They called the nurses. Sedatives. Didn’t work. Still shouting.
Security came. Pulled him off. He broke free and lunged again.
A crowd gathered outside. Phones out. Videos already hitting the internet.
