Chapter 5 Jahmir #2
“Great job. Let me get set up. We got some blocks we are going to put together. Is that okay?” She asked them and they both agreed with excitement.
The twins had forgotten that I was even in the room with them.
It let me know that they were comfortable with her and that was something Lonni and I had a problem with.
They only had us and we were about to trust complete strangers when it was time for them to go to school.
Giving them space, I went into my office and did some work.
After finishing a few emails, I decided to make sure they were okay because it had been over an hour.
“Last one, what is this?”
“Elephant!” Dream screamed.
I smiled because he was saying words that I thought he would never be able to say.
Reign was next and it was nothing for her to recognize what the other picture that Ms. Cole held up.
She gave them both stickers and a goodie bag for the day.
I was glad it didn’t have candy in it because I would never get them to sleep.
As she packed up, I tried to busy myself like I was cleaning up.
Who the fuck was I kidding? My house was never dirty.
Even with the kids here, the shit was still spotless.
“My money is being spent well, I see. You got my nephew saying words clearly after just a few weeks.”
She gave me a smug look. “I told you I was worth every dime. You doubted what I could do and were putting a demand on my services that I couldn’t promise. I don’t like being told what to do, which is why I work for myself.”
Oh, she had a little spice to her. I would’ve never known.
“You don’t put me in the mind of a woman who can’t take orders.”
“Well, I can’t. Can you show me to the door, please? I have another appointment that I have to make it to.”
All I could think about was making her do everything I commanded her to do.
Since she said she didn’t like to take orders.
I wanted to see how much dick she could take before she was telling me it was my pussy.
Beautiful women like her deserved to be pleased.
I slowly licked my lips at the thought of kissing her.
Her clearing her throat reminded me that I needed to show her to the door.
“I’ll send you and your sister an email for the next appointment. Just confirm if it will be here or at the other place so I can plan accordingly for my other clients.”
I hadn’t heard what she said. I was too busy watching her pretty ass lips move.
“Mr. Grant,” she nudged me.
“Huh? Yeah…yeah, appointment.”
“Okay. Have a great evening, Mr. Grant.”
“Can you call me Jah, please?”
“I don’t call people I do business with by their first name.”
“But you call my sister Lonni.”
“Yeah, because Lonni is not cutting my check.” She winked.
I stood in my doorway and watched her try to open the door to her Tesla. When it wouldn’t open, I knew she hadn’t charged that muthafucka. I slipped my feet in my outside shoes and walked out to her.
“You didn’t check if you needed to charge before you got all the way out here?”
“Can you just not right now?”
Noticing she was a little on edge, I eased up.
“I have a charger, but I need you to be able to access your 12v battery so we can get the car in neutral.”
She looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language.
I took the initiative and opened her trunk.
I then left her standing there so I could jump it off enough to get her doors open and the screen on so we could put the car in neutral.
Once we got it in neutral, I pushed it over to my garage so we could get it charged up.
“It’s going to take a few hours,” I told her as I grabbed her work bags. “Might as well join us for dinner. I ordered enough.”
“Umm…I can wait out here.”
I walked back towards the house because the twins had been left alone a little longer than I liked them to be.
Not that I was being rude, but I had children to tend to.
She was a grown woman who was afraid to take that professional role off for a few hours.
I made sure to leave the door unlocked for her.
She ended up coming in with the caterer dropping the food off.
Once everything was set up buffet style, she entered the kitchen.
“I’m going to wash them up and I’ll be back. You’re free to fix your plate if you want,” I told her as I grabbed the twins’ hands and walked to the bathroom down the hall.
“I can help. I mean, if you need help.”
“Nah, you’re a guest. I got it.”
Showing the twins good hygiene was something my sister and I both agreed on.
Washing their hands before all meals and snacks, keeping their face clean, and taking baths and brushing teeth were top priorities.
I believed that if you taught them early, it would easily carry over into adulthood.
Once we made it back to the kitchen, Ms. Cole had fixed the twins’ plates and was looking for cups.
“Above the sink. I doubt you’ll be able to reach.” I reached over her to grab them.
As soon as I brushed up against her ass, there was a spark. She stiffened up as I handed her the cups.
“Thank you,” she said, moving towards the fridge without looking at me.
Since she fixed the kids' plates, I decided to fix our plate. Another thing I didn’t play about is gender roles when it came to the household.
Yes, I loved to pay all the bills, but no woman should be cooking, cleaning, and taking care of kids all alone.
That was bum shit, and I was never on that shit.
“Is there anything you don’t want on your plate?” I asked her.
She still would not look at me. Her nervousness let me know I wasn’t the only one that felt the energy between us.
“No, a little of everything is fine.”
Once we were all seated, I said the grace, and we dug in.
The twins usually would talk my head off, but with Ms. Cole still being here, they were too busy talking to her.
She didn’t mind at all. She even corrected them when they said a word wrong, which meant she was still working without realizing it.
She still hadn't really looked at me since I brushed my dick up against her. It wasn’t intentional. Shit, maybe it was.
An hour later, I had the twins’ bath done, and they were having their last little bit of screen time before it was time for bed. I walked back downstairs to see Ms. Cole tapping at her phone.
“I’m sorry I’m taking up so much of your space. I just checked my Tesla, and it’s not charging. I may have to call a tow truck and catch a Lyft home.”
“You’re not bothering me. I’m used to being around people, as you can see from my life. I’ll go unplug it and try again. Don’t want you being uncomfortable around me,” I told her as I slipped my slides on to go check her car.
After coming back inside, her face had a spark. I’m sure it’s because her car was finally charging.
“Thank you! It’s charging now. The last thing I wanted to do was call a service.”
“Yeah, you can get comfortable. You know where the den is. I’m going to put the food up and get the kids situated. By then, you should have enough to get you home.”
With that, I went to the kitchen and got it cleaned. After that, I headed to the kids and got them ready for bed.
“Here.” I handed her a blanket once I noticed she was shivering when I got back downstairs.
“Thank you. Did I tell you how beautiful your house is? Strange to see a man have such a clean and neat space.”
“Ms. Cole, my mama did a good job with me. I also have a little touch of OCD.”
“You don’t have to call me Ms. Cole.” She laughed.
“I thought we were keeping things professional?”
“It’s Tatiyonna,” she sassed. “And yes, we are keeping it professional, but hearing you call me Ms. Cole is getting old. I’ve been in your home almost all day.”
“Just going off what you said,” I shrugged. “Can I ask you a question?” I looked over at her.
“It depends. Is it professional or personal?” She made eye contact with me.
“What happened to make you take that big ass rock off your finger?”
She looked down at her finger and then off into space. There was a long pause before she looked back at me.
“That’s personal.” She rubbed the empty spot.
I could tell she was hurting from whatever it was. As I reached for the remote, she stopped me.
“I’m not sure if you’ve ever given someone all of you and been betrayed.
It’s a lot of things a woman can take. Then there are non-negotiables.
I’m sure every woman’s is different. Cheating once, I can probably get over.
I did say probably. But having something that was never given to me is hard to come back from,” she laughed a little before looking at me with tears in her eyes.
“What do you know? You’ve probably never experienced a love like that or a marriage. ”
“I’ve never been in love like that before.
And nope, I’ve never been married before.
What I do know is that whenever I do find the love of my life, I’ll never do anything to hurt them.
If I put a ring on my woman, I’ll never do anything that would force her to take that shit off.
Whatever the nigga did, you didn’t deserve it.
I hope one day, you can look back and know it wasn’t your fault.
Shit, everyone isn’t raised with love, so it’s hard for them to give it.
Then there are a few that know how to love because they never had it.
Sounds like you got a man that didn’t know how to love. ”
“He knows how to love. Just not me,” she leaned her head back and stared at the ceiling. “Crazy thing is, I still love him. I battle every day with being alone. It’s been me and him since college. We built everything we have. Now it’s me, while he lives his life with his little family he made.”
The tear fell down the side of her face.
I don’t know why I opened the door for her to have to snatch the Band-Aid off her wound again.
I felt bad as fuck. Sliding over, I grabbed her and let her rest her head on my shoulder.
We didn’t speak another word. I grabbed the remote and turned on a random movie.
It didn’t take long for her to fall asleep; I eased her down on the sofa and went to sit on the other end to give her some space.
I’m sure by the time she woke up and realized she had been vulnerable, she’ll never talk to my ass again.
